Prayer Summary for January 12

Thank You, Father, for Your precious Holy Spirit
Opening up our hearts for more of You this morning
Watching and praying from our seat above
Declarations from that position
Speaking to some things to calm down and be still
Applying the blood over nations

The following excerpt was taken from the Herald of His Coming:

Without the power of the Holy Spirit, most of our work is wasted. We can’t make it happen. He made it happen. It is His power and presence that are important. It is Pentecost at all costs and we need to tarry until we are endued with power from on high. Pentecost must become more than an event in history. It must become a personal experience. The book of Acts is a divine blueprint for today.

The purpose of Pentecost is to empower God’s people so they can point men to Jesus. There is no substitute for consistent Christian living and for soul winning power. May God fill us with His Holy Spirit. Ignite the fires of evangelism in our hearts. Burn out the dross and make us a going people for a coming Savior. Jesus said follow me and I’ll make you fishers of men, Matthew 4:19. God wants to multiply our lives and to give us spiritual children and grandchildren. We must go with Him after the lost. He that goes forth and weeps bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing bearing his sheaves with him, Psalm 126:6. The love of Christ must constrain us to feel as He felt, go as He went, to love as He loved and to sacrifice as He sacrificed. What we need is not more machinery but men and women of God, men and women of power, men and women of faith and men and women of fire. The word of God is a fire and when it’s preached in the power of the Holy Spirit, it will light a fire, the fire of revival.

Scripture focus

(23) After they were permitted to go, [the apostles] returned to their own [company] and told all that the chief priests and elders had said to them.
(24) And when they heard it, lifted their voices together with one united mind to God and said, O Sovereign Lord, You are He Who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything that is in them,
(25) Who by the mouth of our forefather David, Your servant and child, said through the Holy Spirit, Why did the heathen (Gentiles) become wanton and insolent and rage, and the people imagine and study and plan vain (fruitless) things [that will not succeed]?
(26) The kings of the earth took their stand in array [for attack] and the rulers were assembled and combined together against the Lord and against His Anointed (Christ, the Messiah).
(27) For in this city there actually met and plotted together against Your holy Child and Servant Jesus, Whom You consecrated by anointing, both Herod and Pontius Pilate with the Gentiles and peoples of Israel,
(28) To carry out all that Your hand and Your will and purpose had predestined (predetermined) should occur.
(29) And now, Lord, observe their threats and grant to Your bond servants [full freedom] to declare Your message fearlessly,
(30) While You stretch out Your hand to cure and to perform signs and wonders through the authority and by the power of the name of Your holy Child and Servant Jesus.
(31) And when they had prayed, the place in which they were assembled was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they continued to speak the Word of God with freedom and boldness and courage.
(33) And with great strength and ability and power the apostles delivered their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace (loving-kindness and favor and goodwill) rested richly upon them all. Acts 4:23–30, 33

We spent the remainder of the hour worshiping and extolling the name of God.

Continued praying…

Father, we lift up Your name before every member of the body of Christ
Pressing ahead in Your strength and seeing walls come down
You do it for us, Father, because of Your abundant grace
That’s the blueprint of the book of Acts! Hallelujah, glory to God.
