Morning Chapel Prayer Today
Pastor Heather…
Good morning, everyone. Welcome to Morning Prayer. My name’s Heather Sibinski. I’m one of the pastors here at Living Word.
It’s been a long, busy week for me so far. Just a lot of long days, night meetings and things going on, which are always good, but also can drain your flesh and your body. And so whenever I’m in that position of running and going, even when it’s good things, I just have to remind myself to be filled and to slow down and seek His presence.
One of my favorite things that I love to do is… a while ago, I created something for myself that is an encouragement to me. I took excerpts from Job 38 through 42, and it’s that portion in Job where after everything happens and all the friends are arguing, there’s this moment when the Lord comes down and He speaks and says, “Where were you when I formed the earth? Where were you when I told the ocean where to stop?” And it’s a really powerful few chapters of God speaking. And you realize the vastness and the bigness of God in that moment. And I love to read that scripture.
And so I took that and then combined it with my favorite Psalm, which is 139, in the Passion translation. So I’m going to take these excerpts from Job 38 through 42. And I used the Message Bible for that one. And then Psalm 139 from the Passion translation. And I made it so that God is speaking to me personally. So feel free to close your eyes as I read this. This is scripture. I’m just reading it over you. But it’s just an encouragement of not only the bigness and the vastness of God, but then when we get into Psalm 139, the intimacy and the personal part of God. And how even though He created the universe, He knows every little detail of our lives. And that to me is so encouraging. Because not only is He making this universe continue to spin, to move, to create, to expand. He’s also worried about how many hairs are on your head. And when you think of that, it’s hard for our earthly minds to fathom that how could God do such vast, huge things. But then also know such intimate, almost insignificant details of my life. But He does. Because He is God and He’s everywhere at once and He’s all knowing, and He knows us personally.
So I’m just going to read the scriptures, and like I said, I just took pieces of it and I changed it like God is speaking this over you. So close your eyes. Listen. I pray that it’s an encouragement to you today. I like to read this to myself from time to time, to encourage myself that God’s got me. Not only does He have everything around me, He has everything happening inside of me. He’s intimately aware of all those things.
Job and Psalm scriptures…
I am the creator of the universe, and I created you. I am the God that rules the heavens and the earth, and I know your name. I created the earth and decided on its size. I came up with blueprints and measurements. I poured its foundation and set the cornerstone while the morning stars sang in chorus and all the angels shouted praise. I took charge of the ocean when it gushed forth like a baby from the womb. I am your God. I wrapped the ocean in soft clouds and tucked it in safely at night. I said, stay here. This is your place. Your wild tantrums are confined to this place. I order morning, get up. I tell dawn, get to work. I make the sun bring everything to light. I bring out all the colors and shapes. I am where light comes from.
I know where snow is made, where lightning is launched, and the place from which the wind blows. I carve canyons for the downpours of rain. I chart the route of thunderstorms. I drench the useless wastelands with rain, so they’re carpeted with wildflowers and grass. I am the Father of rain and dew, ice and frost. Don’t for a minute imagine these marvels of weather just happen.
I created the skies, constellations. And I know how they affect things on earth. I have the attention of the clouds and commission showers of rain. I take charge of the lightning bolts and have them report to me for orders. I know the number of all the clouds. I tip over the rain barrels of heaven when the earth is cracked and dry, the ground baked as hard as a brick.
I teach the lioness to stalk her prey and satisfy the appetite of her cubs. I set out food for the ravens when they’re young cry out. I know the month mountain goats give birth. I watched the doe bear her fawn. I set the wild donkey free, gave him the whole wilderness to roam in. Wild buffalo condescend to serve me. I created the ostrich, and when she runs, how she runs laughing, leaving horse and rider in the dust. I gave the horse his prowess and adorned him with a shimmering mane, creating him to prance proudly. I taught the hawk how to fly soaring effortlessly. I command the eagle’s flight and teach her to build her nest in the heights.
I am in charge of all of this. I run this universe. I can do anything and everything. Nothing and no one can upset My plans. And yet I know everything there is to know about you. I’ve examined your innermost being with My loving gaze. I perceive every moment of your heart and soul and understand your every thought before it even enters your mind. I am so intimately aware of you. I read your heart like an open book, and I know all the words you’re about to speak before you even start a sentence. I know every step you will take before your journey even begins.
I’ve gone into your future to prepare the way, and in kindness, I follow behind you to spare you from the harm of your past. With my hand of love upon your life, I impart a Father’s blessing to you. You may think this is just too wonderful, deep and incomprehensible. My understanding of you brings you wonder and strength. There is no place you could go to hide from My Spirit. There is no place you could go to run and hide from My face. If you go up to heaven, I’m there. If you go down to the realm of the dead, I’m there too. If you fly with wings into the shining dawn, I’m there. If you fly into the radiant sunset, I’ll be there waiting. Wherever you go, My hand will guide you. My strength will empower you. It’s impossible to disappear from Me or to ask darkness to hide you. For My presence is everywhere bringing light into your night. There is no such thing as darkness with Me. The night to Me is as bright as the day. There is no difference between the two.
I formed your innermost being shaping your delicate inside and your intricate outside and wove them all together in your mother’s womb. I have made you so mysteriously complex. Everything I do is marvelously breathtaking. Doesn’t it simply amaze you to think about it, how thoroughly I know you. I even formed every bone in your body when I created you in the secret place, carefully, skillfully shaping you from nothing to something. I saw who I created you to be before you became you. Before you ever saw the light of day, the number of the days I plan for you were already recorded in My book. Every single moment I am thinking of you. Isn’t it precious and wonderful to consider that I cherish you constantly in My every thought. My desires toward you are more than the grains of sand on every shore. When you awake each morning, I’m still with you.
Prayed…
Thank you, Father for this Word. Thank you that you intimately know us and that you crafted this universe. You put every star in its place and you’re still even expanding and continuing to expand the universe. Things that are far beyond our reach of knowledge or understanding. You are the creator of everything, but yet you know every intimate detail of our lives, every movement of our heart, every thought before it even enters our minds. And you love us and you’re continually thinking of us. And so today we just remind ourselves of that. We remind our souls that we are held, we are safe, we are loved by the Creator of this universe. The King of Kings, the Lord of Lords is constantly thinking of us.
We trust in that today, Father. And though the world may be spinning and things may look bleak in the natural, we know you are still on the throne. You are still in control and you have a plan and a purpose for each one of us, and that’s where we choose to put our focus… where we choose to put our faith in you.
For you alone satisfy every hunger we have… you alone satisfy every need.
Coming against fear…
Thank you that when fear comes in and tries to raise its ugly head or yell louder, that you are bigger. You come in like a standard. You raise up a standard that you’ve not given us a spirit of fear, but of love, power, and a sound mind.
We live in a world where things are constantly trying to come against our thoughts and minds, you’ve given us a sound mind. We don’t have to have a spirit of fear that’s not of you. We are led by the Spirit of God.
Prayer for anyone struggling with fear or anxiety…
Right now, I’m going to pray for anybody out there that’s struggling with fear or anxiety.
Father, right now I just lift up anybody that’s struggling with fear or anxiety that’s trying to come onto them. We break it now and bind it in Jesus’ name.
We say, “Spirit of fear, you are not welcome here. You are not of God.”
We are led by the Spirit of God, and that is the only spirit we are led of. And so now we just rebuke that spirit of fear. We bind and we rebuke that anxiety that’s trying to come on this generation that’s trying to come on the body of Christ. We say, no, in Jesus’ name. You have been defeated. You are not welcome here. We bind you, we rebuke you.
In Jesus’ name, we are led by a spirit of peace. We are led by love. We are led by power, by the Holy Spirit. And you’ve given us a sound mind.
Prayer for anyone believing that something is wrong with you…
I believe there’s people out there that the enemy’s trying to tell you you’re crazy… something’s wrong with you, something’s wrong with your thoughts.
We rebuke that in Jesus’ name. I curse that.
And right now you just need to break that lie over yourself in the name of Jesus and say, “I have a sound mind. I think the thoughts of my Father, I have the mind of Christ. My thoughts are like your thoughts. Let my thoughts be like your thoughts. Higher, higher, above. Father, we fix our attention on you. We’re not bound by our natural mind. We’re not bound by our natural thoughts. We have the mind of Christ.
A word of knowledge…
I hear the Lord saying, “Watch your gates. Watch your eye gates. Watch your ear gates. What are you taking in? Watch your mouth. What are you speaking?”
Start speaking His Word over yourself. Catch yourself when you’re speaking against His hope. When you’re speaking against your faith, when you say, “I don’t know what to do. I don’t know how to do that. Or I feel this way, I feel that way.” Or “I think this, and I think that.” And if it’s contrary, stop yourself and speak His Word over that situation.
If you’re watching things that are influencing you and creating these paths and these thoughts, STOP!
Whatever you feed grows. And whatever you starve dies.
So Father, we feed on your Word. We feed on your Spirit. We feed on every word that comes from your mouth. And we wait to hear fresh words, straight from the mouth of God.
Prayer about shame…
You’re loving people right where they are right now. Right where you are, there’s no shame. There’s no guilt in His presence. He paid a price for every sin, every shortcoming. So you receive it.
“Shame, we tell you to go back to the pit of hell. You’re a liar. We are loved with an everlasting love. Jesus paid the price. He shed His blood, that we would not have to live in shame or guilt or condemnation.” And so we receive that.
Apply the blood to any shame, any guilt, any condemnation that the enemy is trying to bring on you today. You remind yourself of who you are in Christ. You are above and not beneath. You are more than a conqueror. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. You are called according to His purpose. He has plans for you. He has a purpose for you, to give you a future and a hope.
