Morning Chapel Prayer Today
Pastor Heather…
Good morning, and welcome to prayer this morning. My name is Heather Sibinski and I’m one of the pastors here at Living Word.
Worship…
You’re holy forever … holy, holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty. Holy is the Lord God Almighty. We just reverence His holiness. We reverence Your holiness, Father. You are so holy. So holy. High and lifted up. Far above the heavens and the earth is Your glory. You are so holy. Holy, holy, holy.
Pastor Heather shares…
The holiness of the Lord does not depend on our circumstances. As I was driving today, I heard the Lord speak to my heart, “Do you want comfort or do you want miracles?” I think sometimes in life… I’ll speak for myself. Sometimes in my life, I’m seeking comfort. And, yes, we do have the Comforter inside of us, right? We do have a God that comforts. We do. But if we’re just seeking the comfort, we’re trying to live these marshmallow, cotton candy lives…
And I just wonder…
When Daniel was in the lions’ den, was that comfortable?
When Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown into the fiery furnace, was that a comfortable moment?
When Joseph was in prison, was that a comfortable moment?
When Paul was in prison, was that a comfortable moment?
Peter, when they were in prison, were those comfortable moments?
A wrong theology about God…
And if we have a walk with God where the only time we feel He’s moving or doing something is when everything feels comfortable or good, we’re going to build this theology that the only time God is good to me is when something good is happening in my life. Right? But in order to do miracles, we have to be willing to go into the lions’ den. We have to be willing to go into the fiery furnace. And in those moments, what were those people doing?
Praising.
Thanking God.
Trusting that He is who He says He is.
Not going, “God, where are you? How could this have happened? What do I do now?”
We will have trials and tribulations in life…
But sometimes (and again, I’ll speak for myself) when we get into those difficult moments of life, we can tend to question God and wonder why we’re here and wonder why we’re in this tough spot. But what if we’re there because He wants to show His glory? And I’m not saying He punishes people. Please hear my heart. He is a good God. But the Bible does say on this earth we will have trials, we will have tribulations, right? And if we’re continually seeking comfort and we’re not willing to walk into those spaces where God can be God… we’re not willing to walk in the hard places… we’re not willing to have that boldness and that courage of a Daniel, of a Shadrach, a Meshach, and Abednego, of a Joseph… we’re not willing to go of a Paul, of a Peter… we’re not willing to go into those hard places. Then we’ll have the comfort that we’re seeking, but we won’t have the power.
He is holy and He’s coming to rescue you…
Why would we need a comforter if life was always going to be comfortable? And so maybe I’m just preaching to myself today. But He’s holy, He’s holy, He’s holy, He’s holy. In every moment of our lives, He’s holy. So whatever storm you’re in right now, whatever trial, whatever tribulation, whatever fiery furnace you’re in, whatever prison you’re in, He is still holy and He is coming to rescue you. He’s coming to be your redeemer, your defender. But…
He can only redeem you if you need redeeming.
He can only defend you if you need defending.
He can only be your Savior if you need saving.
Continue to seek His face…
And so allowing Him to do that and not questioning when you’re in these moments, but continually seeking, seeking, seeking His face. Who are you in this moment, God? What do you want to do in this moment? I don’t like this moment. I don’t like this season. I don’t like this circumstance. But what are you going to do in the circumstances? I trust you as I’m bold, as I’m courageous, as I’m trusting, as I don’t falter in my faith because it doesn’t look how I think it should look. It doesn’t line up with my idea of what should be happening in my life right now. But even so, I trust you. I trust your faithfulness. And I know that though I might not see on the surface what you’re doing, you’re moving, you’re changing circumstances, you’re making a way where there seems to be no way. And…
I’m willing to walk through that fire.
I’m willing to sit in that prison.
I’m willing to go into that lions’ den.
“Because I know that you’re faithful…“
And I don’t falter in my faith in you and how good you are. But I know that you’ll make a way because you are who you say you are. Always, always holy. Never changing. No matter what circumstances we’re in.
So, Father, we trust you today…
We say we trust you.
We trust you in the fiery furnace.
We trust you in the prison.
We trust you when Saul is chasing us down.
We trust you when you say we’re anointed, and it doesn’t feel like it. We trust you.
We trust you when the doctor’s report comes in.
We trust you when that relationship feels shaky.
We trust you when our kids tell us things that they’re doing that don’t line up with who you are.
We trust you.
And we decide to be bold and courageous and to continue to declare your Word over every situation, to not falter in our faith and say, “Where did I miss it? What’s going on? Why is this happening? Where are you, God? This is not what you said would happen.”
No, no, no.
We use our authority to speak into those situations. We praise. We trust. We hold fast to who you are in those situations. We don’t doubt your character. We don’t doubt your goodness. We don’t doubt your holiness, Father.
So thank you that you are with us in the fiery furnace.
You are with us in the prison.
And you’re getting ready to turn that situation around.
We’re going to come out of that furnace not smelling like smoke.
We’re going to come out of that prison and all the sudden be the second in command.
We’re going to come out of that prison, and the doors are going to fling wide open.
The prisoners are going to be set free.
And we’re going to turn people’s lives around.
We’re going to trust. And you’re going to shake things.
You’re going to shake situations and buildings and prisons and lions’ dens and fiery furnaces.
He’s with you…
So whatever that is that you’re in right now, He’s with you. The Prince of Peace is in the boat with you in the middle of the storm. You’re not alone. Don’t doubt His goodness. Don’t waver. Don’t waver. Don’t waver. Know that He’s with you. Though you might not like the situation, you might not like the circumstance… Trust. Obey. Seek His face. “What do I do now? What do I do now, Lord? They’re putting me in prison. What do I do now, Lord?”
Trust.
Praise.
Know that He’s unchanging.
He’s a good God.
He’s a holy God.
He already has the solution before we’re in the situation.
He’s already walked it out ahead of us.
He’s already made a way.
He is who He says He is…
He’s already put everything we need within our hand’s reach if we will just continue to trust that He is who He says He is… No matter what the natural tells us, no matter what our circumstances tell us, no matter what our senses tell us, He is who He is—faithful, true, good, holy, sovereign, worthy of all worship and praise, always, always, always worthy.
He is going to come, breakthrough is coming…
When our hearts don’t feel it, when our souls don’t feel it, when we don’t feel like praising Him. No, no, no, no. Oh, my soul, why are you downcast? Oh, my soul, praise the Lord, for He is going to come. Breakthrough is coming. Breakthrough is coming. Breakthrough is coming. So stand up tall in your situation. Declare, declare. Stand, stand. Stand therefore till you get what you’re standing there for.
We put our focus on Him…
Hallelujah. Thank you, Father. You’re so good. You’re so holy. And so we do that. We put our focus on you now. We take our eyes off of our feet, off of the place that we’re in, and we bring our eyes upward, and we say, “You are holy. You are holy. You’ve given us all authority. We are seated with you in heavenly places.”
Yeah, so we tell those circumstances…
Oh, no, you’re temporary.
This is a temporary circumstance.
This is not my life.
I choose to not believe the lies that the enemy’s telling me.
No, no, no, no, no.
I speak to my world.
I speak to my situation.
I speak to my circumstances.
I speak to my atmospheres.
“Line up” on earth as it is in heaven.
So if you’re not living in heaven right now, start declaring that into those situations.
