Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today

Pastor Ken…

Hello, everyone. Happy Monday. It’s going to be a good day today. Today is the first morning that we’re going to be praying from 8:30 to 9:15, so you could say we’re going to redeem some time today and pray efficiently and effectively as the Holy Spirit leads. My heart always is just to endeavor to be sensitive to whatever the flow is on a given morning for us to pray. So I pray that you’ll do the same, that you’ll be checking in with the Holy Spirit on the inside of you as we pray along and make your prayers and supply of the Holy Spirit available as we pray along this morning. If you don’t already know, my name is Ken.

Rededicate America back to God…

I thought I would share a couple of thoughts to get us started this morning. I want to pray a couple of prayers here at some point about America, about rededicating our nation back to God. How many of you know that President Trump has already promised and mentioned that we’re going to rededicate America back to God and to those ancient ways coming up the 17th of May, National Day of Prayer.

I want us to be on that in prayer on a daily basis. So I’ve got some prayers I want to pray in regard to that, and we’ll pray for our nation, of course, in addition to whatever God would prompt us to pray about.

New research from Harvard about prayer…

I wanted to share from a real practical standpoint; I’ve got some new research I’ve come across. I’m not going to share it today, but maybe in the days ahead. Some of it’s Harvard corroborated or confirmed research about the practical results or impact of a prayer life that’s really something. I’ve shared some stuff in the past, but I have more really good stuff to share that shows science backing up one of the ancient paths that God has given us and that is prayer.

Dr. Yonggi Cho’s book, “Prayer That Brings Revival”

Also in Dr. Yonggi Cho’s book, “Prayer That Brings Revival,” he shares some practical truths behind what prayer will do in your life. And I know we all have natural challenges and concerns from time to time in our lives. We live in a broken, fallen system or world where there is an enemy, there’s opposition in various ways. But make no mistake about it, God has fully arrayed us as His people with the weaponry necessary; in fact, He has over-weaponized us with spiritual weapons to defeat the enemy at every turn and in every way. So let’s just set the stage here. This is going to be a good week. This is the week that…

You’re going to step into breakthroughs.
You’re going to realize an answer.
You’re going to stay steady on the course and at the post and in the assignment God has put on your life and placed you in.

This generation has been called out to succeed and to win…

So just don’t get it twisted, as they say. Understand that today is the day the Lord hath made. We get to rejoice and be glad in it. Don’t get it twisted. Understand that you’ve been called out of a generation not to limp by and get by spiritually, but for us to succeed and to win and to walk in victory. The writings of the Apostle Paul and others in the New Testament in particular make it really clear that…

God has set us up to succeed and not fail.
He has set us up to be healed and not sick and broken.
He has set us up to prosper and not live on barely-get-along street.
Rather, He has set us up to rise and thrive.

We can stay steady in His plan…

And it’s okay if it doesn’t feel like it or look like it at the moment. We all have those days and those seasons. But I’m really glad that we can just continue walking with God. Sometimes you just need to be thankful that I can just continue walking with God today. With whatever you have, with wherever you’re at, we can walk with Him today. We can stay steady in His plan today. We can garner the Word and store it up in our hearts, as David said. We can rejoice, and we can celebrate, and we can be refreshed in His presence each and every day as we go throughout the day, and of course, at morning prayer.

Our personal response to prayer…

But in Dr. Yonggi’s church, he talks about your personal response to prayer. And I may have read this before, but you probably don’t remember it word for word. So I’m going to read it again.

Dr. Cho writes…

“Prayer creates a personal change in your life. Nothing you can do will benefit you more than prayer. Through prayer, you create an account balance in your favor in God’s spiritual bank. Through prayer, you will benefit spiritually, mentally, and physically. As human beings, we are created wonderfully. God created us in His divine image. Our potential is much greater than any of us have ever realized.”

There is so much more untapped within us…

That includes every last one of us, by the way. There is so much more untapped still within you, still on the mind of God for your today and your tomorrow and your 2026. There’s more ahead of us. There’s more God wants to release through you. All of us carry the potential of the resurrection power of Jesus. And His intention has always been and will always be to release that power in and through us—

Through prayer
Through our faith decrees
Through our steps of faith
Through what we do today

Prayer actually repairs your mind and psychology…

Our mind is only used to a small percentage of its capacity. Can I just speak to that for a moment? Some of the research I’m coming across shows that prayer doesn’t just quiet your mind, but it actually repairs your mind and psychology. It repairs your soul. It actually rewires it and changes it profoundly; so much so that researchers now can measure the changed mind of a prayer.

Don’t forget though, obviously, it starts with being one who renews his or her mind. The Bible says, “Be not conformed or pressed into this world’s mold.” Don’t be conformed or always bought into the negative thoughts of your past. No. Renew it, refresh it, refill it by the refilling of your mind on the Word of God. But add to that time in prayer. In particular, I would suggest you pray in other tongues. That is that divine technology, as I like to point out.

Prayer is a great weapon…

That we now can measure repairs your mind, restores your soul, and does a whole lot to strengthen us and ready us and prepare us for our tomorrows, for our todays. Prayer is a great weapon that God has given every one of us. But we must choose to pray. We must choose to open our mouths in worship, in faith decrees, in other tongues, and watch.

I double-dog dare you! Watch it go to work in your life!

You will see a change!

You may not notice it in a day or a week or a month, but if you will give yourself daily to spending time conversing with your Heavenly Father praying over your life and over your family and over your household and over your nation in other tongues, I guarantee you will see change.

Dr. Cho goes on to say…

“Our bodies are capable of much more endurance, strength, and longevity. Our spirits are capable of experience so much more of God’s spiritual blessings. Prayer creates the atmosphere in which we can prosper and be in health even as our soul prospers.”

Can I get an amen on that?

He goes on to say…

“Persistence in prayer is important when you think in terms of accounting. We don’t know how long we have to pray before God will answer our prayers. Daniel discovered that his prayer helped Gabriel in overcoming the spiritual opposition he encountered for 21 days.”

What? Yeah!

Your prayers set spiritual entities, like angels, in motion to go about what they have been called to do. That is to aid and support and supply and even do battle for the church and for us individually.

Isn’t that good?

It sets spiritual laws in motion, I’ll add to that. So the spiritual law of faith is set in motion…

When we pray
When we ask
When we worship
When we shout
When we declare God’s Word

Prayer sets spiritual laws in motion…

That’s a prayer. And it sets spiritual laws like the law of faith in motion to go and do what it is assigned to do; and that is to bring about the reality of God’s plan—in our lives, in our churches, in our cities, in our nation. God heard the prayers, like Daniel, and they were held in account. In Luke 11, we can read Christ’s response to the disciples’ request. The request to the Lord was, “Teach us to pray.”

In giving the disciples the answer to their request, Jesus tells a story, a friend is approached regarding three loaves of bread. The request is made at an inopportune moment as he has already retired for the evening. However, the urgency of the prayer request from the requestor was persistent. Jesus then said, “Yet because of his importunity, he will rise and give him as many as he needs,” (Luke 11:8).

Some prayers need repetition—keep on praying…

Some prayers require a great deal of repetition for there to be a response. Whether because of spiritual opposition or some other reason, we are told to keep on praying. Never give up praying for a need. What would have happened if Daniel had given up after only 5 or 10 days? Remember that God is faithful. He will hear your prayers. He will answer as you pray and faint not. Allow the balance sheet of prayer to be heavily in your favor.

Finally, he writes regarding health and prayer’s effects in the area of our health…

“For all the advancement of modern science, people are still suffering from sickness and disease. Doctors now say that heart disease and cancer are the greatest killers. They also agree that the most physical problems are caused by stress.”

Prayer has the ability to drain us of stress…

One of the things I noted in the research I was reading last night is that prayer has the ability to drain us of stress and actually turns off those centers in our brain that produce fear or anxiety within us. It turns them off and brings a calm and “settledness” to our souls when we pray.

People are afraid of nuclear destruction and annihilation. The pressures of modern life have affected the entire world, even in the most remote regions of the world. What can help today’s man or woman overcome the stress and anxiety that plague them? The answer to this question is not new, but it is extremely neglected in today’s society.

The answer is prayer…

Paul wrote to the church at Philippi. He said, “Be careful,” or you could say, “Be anxious or fearful or troubled for nothing. But in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God which passeth all understanding,” in other words, this goes beyond what you can comprehend, what I can wrap my thoughts around. That’s how great, how all-encompassing, how powerful the peace of God is.

Let me just finish this. It says…

“The peace which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

I double-dog dare you…

…to give yourself to prayer and to press beyond what’s comfortable, what’s convenient in the moment, but throughout your week. Pray in other tongues. Worship in your understanding and in other tongues. Make your requests known, and stay with it.

Prayer is not for nothing…

If you’ll press beyond what’s comfortable and convenient, you’ll find that there’s a power that’s produced even within your soul. And I would add to that even within your body. You can get to a place where you just get over into the realm of God, so much so that you can feel your body vibrating. You can sense the power of God in your hands and in your heart and in your arms and in your whole physicality. There is a real and tangible result of prayer, even in the moment when we give ourselves to Him in that place of prayer. And that power is not for nothing. It produces change. It brings healing. It strengthens you from within. As 3 John 2 says, it causes you to prosper in every regard, even as your inner life prospers. What causes your inner life to prosper?

Time with God.
Time in prayer.
