Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today
Worship leader…
Good morning, everybody. Welcome. We are glad to have you with us.
Psalm 95:7 in The Passion says, “We are the lovers He cares for, and He is the God we worship. So drop everything else and listen to His voice.”
There’s a prayer that goes with it. It sounds like this:
“Lord, your voice is so sweet. I’ve heard it gently stirring within my soul, but I long to hear you more clearly. I yearn to know your voice so well that I never question what you say. When you whisper in my ear and tell me to go in a different direction, I want to be quick to obey. I’m leaning in, Lord. Speak to me. Even more than that, I long for the sweetness and the power behind the sound. There’s nothing I desire more than to be entwined with your Holy Spirit. As I live in unity with you, I will discover my true identity and flourish in all I do. I earnestly desire the beauty of your fellowship and unbroken communion. Whether I experience you as a mighty rushing wind or simply have an inward sense of your presence, I trust you to reveal your love in the best way that’s best for me.”
After worshiping, Pastor Heather says…
If you don’t mind, could go back into Holy Spirit? I want to read the words. Just close your eyes.
Holy Spirit, you are welcome here.
Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere.
Your glory, God, is what our hearts long for.
To be overcome by your presence, Lord.
[And I love the bridge.]
Let us become more aware of your presence.
Let us experience the glory of your goodness.
Welcome Holy Spirit…
So as we go back into that, we’ll go through it one time, but I really want you to connect. Because we say, Holy Spirit, you are welcome here. He’s already living and dwelling inside of you, right? But we’re welcoming His presence into this space and becoming more aware.
Being aware of His presence all day long…
You can carry something in your pocket and not be aware that it’s in there, right? All day long. I could have a hundred dollars in my pocket, and it’s not going to do me any good if I forget it’s in there. And so it’s that becoming aware of not only what we carry, but inviting His presence and being aware of His presence, that we get to be in the presence of the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the Creator of the universe, the Comforter, the Savior, the Lover of our souls. I mean, any name you think of that describes God, Holy Spirit, Jesus, who they are, the person of who they are, is so good.
Be intentional about welcoming His presence…
I think sometimes we can take it for granted. We can come in and we can go through the motions. So it’s about stopping and being intentional, about being aware of His presence and welcoming His presence.
Be intentional about how we reverence His presence…
If we were coming to meet the queen or the king or the president, we would have a different amount of respect about us. We wouldn’t come casually and be like, “Hey, what’s up?” No, we would come with honor and reverence and respect. And, of course, God loves however we come to Him, right? Because we’re His children, but I do think there is something about being intentional about how we reverence His presence. And putting a weight on that, an honor on that, a reverence on that.
And so let’s just sing that song one more time, and I just really want you to just reverence and be aware of who we are welcoming in this room, right? The highest of all dignitaries. But also the lover of our souls. So let’s sing that one more time.
♫ Holy Spirit, you are welcome here.
Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere.
Your glory, God, is what our hearts long for.
To be overcome by your presence, Lord. ♫
Pastor Heather prayer of thanksgiving…
Holy Spirit, you are welcome here. We thank you for your presence.
We thank you, Father God, that you’ve given us your Spirit to indwell us, to lead us, to guide us, to bring us comfort, to strengthen us, to give us wisdom.
Thank you for the Holy Spirit—living, dwelling, breathing inside of us.
When we need guidance, direction, comfort, wisdom, strength, you’ve put that inside of us already.
When we need power—dynamite power—the Holy Spirit is living, dwelling, breathing inside of us.
When we don’t know how to pray, you know how to pray, and you pray through us.
And what an honor to allow the Spirit of the living God to pray, to speak through us, to use us to speak to others.
To bring comfort, to bring strength, to bring whatever it is we need. Peace.
Holy Spirit, you’re so good.
Pastor Heather shared…
I feel a “weightiness” of just reverencing that gift of the Holy Spirit. And that’s why we come every morning, to be led by the Holy Spirit, to pray in the Holy Spirit. And so we thank you today, Father, for the precious gift, the person of the Holy Spirit inside of us, upon us.
So let’s do that. Let’s pray in the Holy Spirit.
Yes, we yield now. We yield to the Holy Spirit.
Pray what you want to pray today.
We yield our tongue now.
We yield our mind to your Spirit, Holy Spirit.
Question to Holy Spirit…
What would you want to pray today? Where do you want to go today?
This is your prayer time.
Sure, we have our own lists. Sure, we have our own agendas, but this is your time, Holy Spirit.
What would you pray today?
Holy Spirit response…
I hear Him talking about preparation. Preparation. So let’s lean into that.
Prayer about preparation…
Preparation. You are preparing the church now.
A preparing, a preparing for the return of Jesus.
Oh, so much work to be done. There’s so much work to be done.
Yes, prepare us. Oh, prepare the church.
Prepare the body of Christ now, that we wouldn’t be caught off guard.
But that we’re doing what we’ve been called to do.
We’re prepared. We’re putting our hand to the things we need to put our hand to.
Prayed about distractions…
There’s such a temptation now to be distracted, to be asleep, to be numb.
Let us not be caught off guard.
Prayer about the pouring out upon all flesh…
No, no, no, no. Prepare, prepare, prepare, prepare. Get ready. Get ready. Get ready.
Oh yes, for a pouring out of His Spirit in these last days.
Upon all flesh, not just the flesh that we think should be in church, not just the people that we think should be sitting in those chairs.
No, no, no, no. All flesh. All flesh.
So prepare us, Lord. Prepare us for the incoming, the influx of people.
Question to the Lord…
How do we reach the world? How do we welcome the world into these doors?
Answer…
That the body of Christ would be the body of Christ.
That our eyes just wouldn’t be on ourselves, on our own poor little situations.
No, no, no. That we’re looking out. We’re reaching.
Yes, that we’d be the church. We’d be the body.
We’d be the hospital for the sick.
Healing for the broken.
Hope for the hopeless.
Sight for the blind.
A safe place to run for shelter. For healing. For hope. A light in the darkness.
Yep, that’s why we’re here.
Far above every program. Every format. Every procedure.
Prayer about Holy Spirit being a disrupter to “our” plans…
No, no, no. Sweep in, Holy Spirit. Do what you do.
Even to the point where you’re disrupting our plans.
Yes, we give you permission to disrupt us… in the best way possible.
Yes, come in and interrupt, interrupt, interrupt our selfish plans.
Prayer about yielding to His plans…
As the body of Christ, that we’d be about your plans. We’d be watching. We’d be waiting. We’d be alert.
Oh, help us, Jesus. Help us, Holy Spirit, from our own selfish ways.
A disciplining, a disciplining our flesh. And seeking the things of the Spirit.
Yes, give us strength. Give us boldness.
Yes, we are a church that is led of the Spirit.
We are a body that is led by the Spirit.
Not by our heads, not by plans, not by what sounds good to man, but the Spirit of the Living God, breathing, living, moving through congregations, moving through the body of Christ.
Prayer about getting back to basics and going with the flow of the Spirit…
A returning, a returning. The churches are returning to your way, to your plan, to the basics. Get back to the basics.
For such a time as this.
A flow, a flow, a flow. That we wouldn’t fight that flow, but we go with the flow. We go with the flow of the Holy Spirit.
Even when it doesn’t make sense to our mind.
That we wouldn’t go kicking and screaming, but we go willingly. We don’t fight it. We don’t push against it.
No, no, no. We go willingly with the flow as the body of Christ.
A humility, a humility is required to go with the flow.
Prayer for the churches to be humble and resist pride…
So now we just pray that over the churches. Humility, humility, humility.
Pride, you’re not allowed in churches. No, no, no.
There’s no place for pride in the body of Christ.
No place for “my way” in the body of Christ. No, no, no, no.
It’s His way. It’s His way for His ways are higher than our ways.
So a humility, a humility now.
Prayer for recognizing the need for the Holy Spirit…
Oh, yes. A recognizing that we need the Holy Spirit.
We need His direction. We need His breath. We need His wisdom. We need His peace.
We have it, but will we recognize our need for it?
Will we lean into it? Will we press into it?
Or will we lean on our own understanding?
Prayer about not leaning to our own understanding…
Oh, Lord, let us not lean on our own understanding.
But all our ways that we’d acknowledge you.
Yes, so show us, show us if there are ways we’re leaning into our own way, where we’re leading with our head.
Yes, you gently guide us. You gently lead us back into your ways.
For your yoke is easy, and your burden is light.
Question…
Why do so many of us have heavy burdens right now?
Answer…
Because we’re not taking on your burden or your yoke.
We’re just pulling it all on our own.
Prayer requesting His help to be a help to others…
Oh, help us, Lord. Help us, help us to shoulder up under other people as well.
That we’d be the body of Christ.
When one part of the body hurts, the whole body helps that part.
So make us aware, Lord. Make us aware.
Make us aware of those hurting in the body, how we can help them, how we can pray for them, how we can help shoulder up underneath them with your grace, with your power, not our own.
Prayer to yoke together with Him…
Your burden is light. Your yoke is easy.
So that means if our burden is heavy, we’ve gone out on our own.
We’re not yoked up with you.
So show us how to yoke back up with you, Father.
How to cast our cares, how to keep our eyes on you.
Yeah, your promises are “yes and amen.” You’ve already done them.
We just need to be in agreement.
We just need to hook up, hook up, hook up with His promises.
Pastor Heather got a word…
I just keep seeing a yoke. Like, we just need to get in that yoke with Him now.
Stop trying to plow things on your own now.
Get under the yoke. Get under His yoke. It’s easy. His burden is light.
You don’t have to plow alone. You don’t have to push alone.
Yes, there’s a power available to you.
Yeah, so partner with Him now.
That battle is in the supernatural. It’s not in the natural.
Yeah, so that’s where the battle is.
So stop trying to fix it out in the natural.
Get into the supernatural. Get into the spirit.
Pray in the spirit. Partner with the Holy Spirit.
Have you prayed about it as much as you worried about it?
Have you prayed about it as much as you talked about it?
Have you prayed about it as much as you whined about it?
Prayer requesting His help…
Oh, help us, Jesus. Help us, Jesus. In all things, in all things, in all things, in all things.
Yeah, we wrestle not against flesh, but principalities and powers.
Yes, we press into the Spirit.
Where does our help come from?
Prayer for getting back to the basics and preparation…
Yes, they’re coming back. They’re coming back to the basics, to the basics.
Thank you, Holy Spirit. You’re preparing us for that which you’ve called us to, for such a time as this.
And we’re not alone. We’re not without help.
No, no, no. We have the great Helper. The helper, the counselor, the comforter.
Moving, moving, moving inside of us.
Working through us. So we thank you.
Declaration of who we are in Christ…
Thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit—that dynamite power that’s residing inside of us, to speak to situations, to change atmospheres.
Let us never forget who is living and breathing inside of us.
Yeah. Nothing’s too difficult.
No circumstance that’s not subject to change.
No situation where He hasn’t already made a way of escape.
He’s already given an answer. He’s already provided. He’s already walked out in front of us.
No surprises. There’s no surprises in the Spirit. No, no, no.
All things working together for our good.
Yeah, so turn it around now. Turn it around now.
Do what you do, Holy Spirit. Do what you do, Father God.
Turn it around now for your glory.
Thank You for sending us the Helper.
Holy Spirit, how we love You, how we honor Your ministry.
Leading, guiding, speaking, comforting, equipping, strengthening, bringing peace.
Yeah, showing us, revealing things.
Before we know, you know.
You show us in all things.
How we just love the Trinity—Father God, Holy Spirit, and Son Jesus.
We are surrounded by Your love, surrounded by Your power.
Yes, we have a Father, we have a Friend, we have a Savior, we have a Helper, we have a Comforter.
If you’re for us, who could be against us? Nobody and nothing.
Nothing separates us from your love, and so today we say thank you.
Thank you that you call us your sons and daughters.
My name’s Heather Sibinski. I’m one of the pastors here at Living Word. Thanks so much for joining us today. Have a blessed day.
