Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today

Pastor Ken…

Well good morning, everybody! Welcome to prayer.

We’re going to build a fire this morning. Spiritually speaking!

Isaiah 64:1–2 reads…

“Oh, that you would rend the heavens, that you would come down, that the mountains might shake at your presence. As fire burns brush wood, as fire causes water to boil, to make your name known to your adversaries that the nations may tremble at your presence.” Hallelujah.

Herald of His Coming excerpt…

We just read something that will cause you to pause and reflect for a few moments here. It was published in the most recent, Herald of His Coming publication. And the author was not cited. It was anonymous. This little article reads…

Lukewarm people will be set on fire…

“Without a doubt, we are living in a time similar to that of Isaiah’s Day.” Which we just read in Isaiah 64. “We see conditions in America are terrible. There are divisions among God’s people everywhere. On every hand there is a lukewarmness that is appalling. Thousands have lost their faith and left their first love. The only thing that can solve the problem is the manifested presence of God. But if we can get God to come down and manifest Himself, the mountains will flow down at His presence. The divisions among God’s people will vanish and we will be brought into one great united body.

And more than that, the lukewarm people will be set on fire for God. The waters will be made to boil. The enemies of Christ will be made to know that His power is real and His name will be made be made known to the adversaries. The words of Isaiah take us to the very heart of today’s problem of getting God to come down and manifest His presence among us.”

We can draw or attract His presence…

Of course, He did come down right. But still the principle is there are some things we can do that attract and draw His presence. The Bible says simply that He’s a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. The Gospel reads “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be satisfied. They shall be filled.” More than that, the lukewarm people who will be set on fire with the waters and made to boil. The enemies of Christ, the adversaries will be put on notice, in other words, of the power of God.

The problem: “And there is none…”

The words of Isaiah take us to the very heart of today’s problem of getting God to come down and manifest His presence among us. ‘And there is none…’ This is Isaiah 64:7 “that calleth upon thy name that stirs him or herself up to take hold of thee. For thou hast hid thy face from us and hast consumed us because of our iniquities.”

Let us face the truth. God has declared exactly why He does not come down. His people are backslidden and not a man can be found who will stir himself up [or herself up] to take hold of God in effectual prayer. It is clearly the sense of this word that God will come down. However bad conditions may be provided He can get His people to call upon His name.

The power of prevailing prayer…

Many instances in the history of the church prove this. For the greatest men who have lived to shake the world with God’s power have been every one of them, men of prevailing prayer. The one effectual means for bringing back the presence of God to the people is prevailing prayer. The greatest lack among God’s people is that of travailing prayer. The old-time praying urge is hardly known in Christian lands today.

Desperate prayer…

“But we should be reminded that there has never been a Holy Ghost revival in the history of the world that has not been prayed down. And the praying had to be prevailing prayer. Prayer that was desperate, prayer that stirred people up to such fervency of spirit that they took hold of God.”

He goes on to say…

“And who were hungry for God until that heavenly urge was upon them and they would pray all night long, [speaking of old-time saints] wrestling with God like Jacob of old.”

He goes on to write…

“I want you therefore to see one tremendous truth here that most of God’s people have overlooked. The Devil knows that the power of prayer is the greatest weapon that God has put in our hands against the enemy. He knows that if he can keep the people from praying, he will stop a revival. And knowing this, he will do anything and everything in the world that he can to choke down a real spirit of Holy Ghost praying.”

Let me read you one other thing that was part of that article that actually was transcribed in my phone here so I can read it a bit better.

But it says this…

“The great call to God’s people all over the world today is to stir themselves up to take hold of God. If we will do this, there is not a shadow of a doubt in the world that God will come down and manifest His presence. So whoever you are, recognize the tremendous importance of prayer. See the crying need for the presence of God and acknowledge there is only one way to get God’s presence manifested. And that is for you through real intercessory prevailing prayer to stir yourself up, to take hold of God. If you will do that, God will manifest Himself.

Be like Daniel…

So resolve this very moment that by God’s grace, you are not going to shirk the battle. Face the battle and fight it through to the finish. Get on your face before God and stay there until you have taken hold of God. If you feel yourself getting drowsy or your mind wandering, just simply take an attitude against your own flesh. Like Daniel, set your face unto the Lord and with the purpose of heart in all the determination of your soul, stir yourself up to take hold of God.

Once again, Isaiah 64:7 reads…

“And there is no one that calls on your name, who stirs him or herself up to take hold of you.”

And then I was reminded of Isaiah 66:8 just a couple chapters over where it says the simple phrase, “As soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.”

In other words, God desires to bring forth some things through us. He desires to birth some things, not only souls in the nations, but also intentions and purposes of His heart that He wants to come through us. He’s desiring to bring some things forth in this hour through the church, through you and through me individually that are necessary, that are needed, that must show up on the scene of what God is presently doing in this nation.

Someone must take up the mantle of prayer…

And they’ll show up because someone takes up the mantle, takes up the assignment to pray. One and two in a whole collective. Of course, that includes the glory of God and the presence of God. But also it includes certain things that He has assigned to your life that many of us probably don’t even know about.

Kenneth E. Hagin experience…

I think about Brother Kenneth Hagin and how years into his ministry, the Lord kind of got his attention one day. He was thinking he was well advanced in the call of God for his life. And the Lord kind of said to him, “Well, no, you just kind of come through your first phase of ministry.”

There’s so much more possible. There’s so much more God is desiring to bring through us. I don’t just mean spiritual things like the presence of God or an anointing in some way. And that’s, of course, so important. But also creative intentionality. The prophetic. The power of God to set captives free. God has placed an assignment on us to set captives free. Not just from preaching and the laying on of hands, but through all sorts of even practical means. God wants to use the church more than ever in this hour. He’s endeavoring to give us a level up to a whole other place we’ve not been before.

But it must be birthed through us, first. It must be articulated with heavenly language and also interpreted in our known language as the Spirit of God gives us the interpretation and translation.

So I challenge you with that today…

The means to get to where God’s calling you to be is prayer. Whether that’s another level of liberty and freedom or the next level of assignment in some way, practically in your calling.

Prayer is our divine and holy means that takes us and leads us and propels us, in fact, as we pray from one degree of glory to the next. He does not want us to stay or meander in the status quo. He is so much more. In fact, His great and holy intention is that we would be actually put on display, not because of us.

But because of Him!
Because of His glory.
Because of the redemptive work of Jesus.
Because He’s far greater than we’ve ever imagined.
Because He’s far greater than we had ever witnessed with our eyes.

To bring breakthrough… to produce miracles… to cause you to be effective on multiple levels higher than you are in leadership, in your creative calling, in your ability to write or in your ability to teach or whatever that is for you.

He’s looking for you to show up in His glorious clothing…

God is looking for the sons and daughters of the Most High to show up now upon planet earth… not in our old grave clothes, but in our glorious enfolding and clothing because of His glory. I don’t know, this sounds really spiritual and I’m actually a very practical guy. But I just know that when we put the spiritual things first and we put Him first in a pursuit to live filled and flooded with God, practical things just fall into place. Resources flow. Doors open.

Waiting for your “muse” to show up…

The Spirit of God, the ancients used to call it your “muse” shows up. And you write things and you say things and you come up with solutions and ideas like, where did that come from? You almost look behind you. Because it wasn’t you. It was Him.

“For God is with you…”

When God addressed Gideon through the angel of the Lord, twice he repeated, “For God is with you.” “Yes, but, Lord, my family is the least among the tribe of Manasa and I’m the least in my family. You got the wrong guy. I’m not a mighty man of valor.” And then the angel of Lord repeated “For God is with you.”

God is with us! Not just to give us a little comfort and consolation when we’re going through a tough time. He is with us because He wants to glorify Himself through the church. He wants to put on display His ability and spiritual, yes, and also practical ways. He’s in the business of redeeming. He’s in the business of restoring and healing. And if you haven’t checked your Bible recently, that’s where we come in. Because He wants to do it through us. And prayer opens up that channel… opens up the flow of heaven so that we can be efficient conduits of heaven’s flow of glory and solutions and whatever is needed in any situation to redeem, to restore, to perform what God wants to perform in our church, in our state, in our nation, and around the world.

Prayed…

So, Father, we let some of these thoughts just sink into our hearts this morning. We pray make us hungry today. We refuse to be controlled by electronic devices like the person who had the prophecy many years ago, seeing people walking around looking at a phone or a device, and they were like controlled by it.

We pray, Lord, that you would interrupt our lives in such a way that we would shake off every weight and thing that easily besets us and distracts us and keeps us from your highest and best.

We pray, Lord, let your glory fill our hearts and fill our church and our church services in the coming days. So much so that it would be clear and it would be evident that truly God is visiting His people.
