Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today

Prayer leader Cindy…

 Good morning, everybody.

Because He lives…

I was coming in this morning in the walkway, listening to the music that’s being piped in, and the song that was playing was “Because He Lives.” Because He lives, we can face tomorrow with boldness, with courage, with joy. Because He lives, all fear is gone. Because He lives… How does it go again?

♫ Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives all fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living just because He lives. ♫

Prayed…

Father, we enter into your gates with thanksgiving and into your courts with praise.
Your praise is ever upon our lips.
We are so thankful, so grateful for everything that you have done.
For you hold our future, and life is worth the living just because you live.

We have perfect communion with the Father because of Jesus…

I was taking communion this morning, and I was breaking the bread. And He’s the bread that came down from heaven, and His body was broken for us. He paid the price to separate that veil, just to tear that veil between us and the Father so that veil has been separated. And now we have perfect communion.

The two disciples on the road to Emmaus, talking with Jesus…

I was thinking about how the two disciples were on the road to Emmaus, and they were walking with Jesus. And they didn’t know it was Him. But they were talking about everything that had just happened with Jesus. And then He started to speak to them about how everything that had happened was written, and the Word was unveiled to them as they walked with Him. And they sat down and they were going to camp. And He was going to keep going, but they begged Him to stay. And then as they were speaking with Him, they took communion. And He broke the bread, and their eyes were opened.

And then He disappeared!

The veil was rent so we could experience communion with Him…

But the veil was rent, that we would know and experience and see our Father and have communion with Him. His body was broken, and His blood was shed that we would have that perfect communion. And then the blood… There’s many things that the blood does, but the one thing that I always go to when I have communion, I say, “God, I receive this as the blood that was shed to ratify the New Covenant of life, that I’m no longer subject to the law of sin that leads to death but the perfect law of liberty in Christ Jesus. And with that law, I have a conscience that is purged from doing dead works. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And now…

I live because you live.
I live to do your good pleasure.
I live to the glory of your praise.
I live with a conscience clear.

And I don’t need to make my way or struggle or be under some kind of condemnation to get anything, but also to be approved of man. Because that’s what drives us to do those things that don’t work.

Prayed…

So, Father, we thank you for your perfect blood that was shed, that purges our conscience from dead works to serve the living God in newness of life. Because you live, we live.

Act of communion declares His death until He comes…

And as I take communion, I declare because it declares as long as you do this, it declares His death until He comes. So, I’m beckoning Him as I declare what He did on that cross, that He paid the penalty and that He went to hell for us, and that He took all the condemnation, took all the sin, took it onto Himself that I might be in Christ Jesus, blameless before Him in love and without any sense of fear. Because with fear is torment.

Prayed…

Thank you, Father. You live, we live in newness of life. We live to the glory of your name because you’ve given us your name. And together we are your body of love on the earth displaying your grace and mercy, your merciful grace. He says in the ages and ages to come, we will be examples of His mercy, of His goodness.

Excerpt from Joyce Meyer’s book, “The Power of Thank You”

My mom gave me this book for my birthday. It’s a Joyce Meyers book. I can’t remember the name of it, but it has something to do with thanksgiving. Oh, it’s “The Power of Thank You.” I just want to read that. Like I was saying earlier, we enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. It’s how we start our prayer. And then we have just by way of remembrance, we have our position really, really fixed. We are thankful. We are grateful. We love you, Lord. And yeah, this world, we have trouble, but right now I’m focusing on all that you are in this world. You have conquered it and defeated it of its power to harm me, and you have given me those opportunities in the trouble to magnify you. And then, like a door, you come.

It’s like I was saying with the declaring His death until He comes. We’re anticipating His coming. Not just in that final day, but every day. I’m just saying, “Come, Lord Jesus. Come to each and all of our moments throughout the days, and especially the ones that are troublesome because, they’re just simply a means to receiving more of you, in Jesus’ name.”

Excerpt begins…

God answers prayer, but He doesn’t answer complaints. One morning, I was spending my usual morning time with Him, and I was focused on all my problems. The Lord spoke to my heart and said, “Joyce, are you going to have fellowship with Me or with your problems this morning?” I was wasting time that could have been used for praying by murmuring about and focusing on everything I thought was wrong in my life. And when I should have been focusing on all the ways God has blessed me and praying about my problems with thanksgiving for all the good He has done for me.

God delights in answering our prayers, and prayer is one of our greatest privileges. It is not an obligation, but an amazing honor. We’re so honored. Are we not? He chose us. He died for us while yet we were sinners. It was His initial intent that we would be His. His and His alone. He deals with us, not the law. He deals with us, and when He does, He says He loves us. If He didn’t deal with us, He wouldn’t love us.

Complaints open a door to the Devil…

So I thank You, Father, for every word of correction, for every word of direction, for every word that you speak, for no word of a king is without power of fulfillment. He decrees things over us and to us, that we would just agree and breathe it out. Instead of complaining at our first response to a problem, we should immediately pray. Complaints open a door to the Devil to work in our lives. But prayer with thanksgiving opens a door for God to work in our lives. We know this because scripture teaches us that the kind of prayer God answers is the kind that is offered with thanksgiving.

Scripture

Consider these verses. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition and thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your heart and minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6–7)

God’s peace is ours…

We employ it. It does actively guard our hearts and minds. In all things we give thanks unto God, for it’s the will of God in Christ Jesus. What for? For our rest. So we think on those things that are good and pure and lovely. If there be any virtue or praise, we think on and we consider only these things.

I used to say this…

I’m not making any apologies for being a Pollyanna because God gives us eyes to see things through a lens the world does not have. And they need us to show them what we see. And then we wait for His coming.

Scriptures…

Devote yourself to prayer, being watchful and thankful. (Colossians 4:2)

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you are called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms and hymns and songs with the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your heart. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. (Colossians 3:15–17)

Rejoice always. Pray continually. Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.

Three things that are the will of God for your life…

I was like, what is the will of God for my life? And He’s telling us three things.

  1. Rejoice always. He said it, so we can do it.
  2. Pray continually. He said it, so we can do it.
  3. Give thanks in all situations or circumstances. He’s telling you that’s His will.

Thank you, Father, your will be done in our lives according to your Word, your decree. No decree or word from a king is without power of fulfillment, so be it. We are grounded in these three things. And we do them always by the power of His Spirit, by the grace He’s given us. He’s living through us.

We magnify God. We enter His courts with thanksgiving and His gates with praise. And then we wait for the wind of His Spirit because we’ve already hoisted our sail. We’re waiting in His presence for that wind to carry us wherever He wants to carry us. Hallelujah.

And how do we stir up the wind?

We give thanks. We rejoice. And we continue to pray, which is just acknowledging Him in all things. Praying with thanksgiving doesn’t simply mean thanking God during the prayer but thanking from the platform of a thankful life. If we grumble and complain all week and then suddenly want to pray that God will help us with a problem that arises, we may find ourselves not getting that help we desire.

And we don’t want to forget that it’s all about grace. It’s all about His goodness, and He wants to wipe the slate clean and start fresh. He said that His mercy is new every morning. And He’s so for us. He’s not against us. He’s not holding things up against us. But He’s given us His beautiful blood that washes our conscience clean. And we can come before Him without a sense of fear or condemnation.
