Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today

Prayer leader Jeannie…

 Welcome to morning prayer.

God’s never in a bad mood. He’s never discouraged. Never! He sits in the heavens and laughs. He’s the one that made us. I knew we were going to lead with “fret not because of evildoers.” And Goke comes in and he has God’s mercy on his mind.

Thanksgiving about God’s character…

God, I thank you so much for the equation of “fret not because of evildoers. I am merciful, and my mercy endures forever. And I’m always in a good mood!”

Father, we just thank you for your character. Your character is sure. We have the assurance of your plan and your goodness.

Forget not what reality is…

We are an informed people. But sometimes we have a misperception of, “Well, I can’t be in denial. Well, I have to deal with reality,” forgetting that the reality is…

That He’s good
That His plan is good
That we have authority to speak to things
That we have a responsibility to win

God’s mercy endures forever…

We have a responsibility of victory to walk in a kingdom which is heavenly and declare it here on earth. That is our reality. Why do you think we hinder the enemy just by being here? Do you realize that? Just by being here, you hinder your enemy. Because His mercy endures. Even when your attitude is bad, His mercy endures. Even when you can’t see clearly in the moment, even when you’re discouraged in the moment, His mercy endures.

Get your mind on Him…

When you’re exasperated, when you’re exhausted, just abide in Him. Get your mind on Him. And remember who you are, that you have the authority, and you have the responsibility and the joy of winning, the joy of overcoming, the joy of walking out the promise that you were already promised, which is to overcome.

David wrote Psalm 37 about evildoers…

Psalm 37 is the Psalm of David. Think about this. This was written by David. So evildoers were around even back then. Think about that. Yet we’re still here. We’re still overcoming. And we’re still winning. And we’re still taking ground—every day! And we still haven’t reached the fullness of what God has said. That encourages you. Do you realize you are now in a place of continual fulfillment? We get to decide what we see every moment.

So, Father, I thank you right now for the grace. Because of your mercy, we see your Word playing out today at Living Word, in America, in the world. And we do not worry.

Psalm 37…

“Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong; 2 for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. 3 Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. 4 Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

Just pray in the Spirit with me.

Prayed…

God, I thank you for the revelation that we do not fret because of evildoers.
Father, you knew. You’ve known about evildoers from the beginning.
In fact, it all started because of an evildoer.
Yet, not one time have you been overcome, and not one time will you be overcome today.
Your greatness, your goodness, your name that is above every name.

The Parable of the Sower

So let’s look at why God would tell us, just one of many reasons why it’s wisdom not to fret because of evildoers. So let’s go to Mark 4:3 The Parable of the Sower.

“Give attention to this. Behold, a sower went out to sow.” We all have things to sow. Even our thoughts are things that we sow.

“And he was sowing and some seed fell along the path and the birds came and ate it up. The other seed of the same kind fell on the ground full of rocks where it had not much soil and at once it sprang up because it had no depth of soil…” because they were watching the news all the time and keeping their focus on everything the evildoer was doing.

Right?

“The other seed of the same kind fell among thorned plants, and the thistles grew and pressed together and utterly choked and suffocated it. And it yielded no grain…” because they were watching the news all the time and keeping their focus on everything that the enemy was doing.

“And the other seed of the same kind fell into the good, well-adapted soil and brought forth grain, growing up and increasing and yielding up thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold…” because they were keeping their eyes on Him and abiding in Him.

And He said, “He who has ears to hear, hear. To you has been entrusted the mystery of the kingdom of God, the councils of God that are hidden from the ungodly. But for those outside of your circle, everything becomes a parable.”

The wicked servant called God’s character into question…

Okay, so I’m going to skip a little bit and paraphrase. The servant that God called wicked and lazy was the servant that questioned the character of the master. He said, “I found you to be a hard master.” He questioned his character. And even when Goke came here this morning and talked about how God is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him. So the fretting about God’s character, wondering, “Is God really going to reward me? Is God truly going to fulfill His promises? I’m going to focus on all the evil that’s going on.”

That fretting causes us to start moving in wickedness, to stop sowing, to stop seeing opportunity. Do you guys see where I’m going with this? Do you see what I’m saying?

Remember the Red Sea…

Remember when the Israelites had been taken out of bondage. So here they are, they’ve been in bondage for years. One miracle after another, and finally, the totalitarian regime lets them go. And they get to a place where it looks like there’s no way out. No way out! And they start to fret, even though God had brought them through, even though there have been so many supernatural things, they come to a place of impossibility and they decide, “We need to go back.”

They fretted.

It’s the pressure of the evil… Okay, so I’m at the Red Sea right now. Just put yourself in a situation where God has done so many things for you, and now you’re at another situation where it looks like there’s no way out of this. There’s no way we’re going to get through this. So you’re already at another situation, and then here comes an evildoer—Pharaoh. The evildoer starts pushing on me, putting pressure on me. And in front of me, it looks like the impossible too. And if I do what the Israelites did, I start fretting. And what comes out of my mouth? “I just need to go back to bondage.”

Prayer leader Mike…

We were talking about this yesterday, and this is coming up to me. Somebody was teaching about this. In Exodus, they actually said, basically, they saw Pharaoh approaching, and they panicked when they saw the Egyptians were overtaking them. They said to Moses, “Why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness? Weren’t there enough graves for us in Egypt? What have you done to us? Why did you make us leave Egypt?”

They had been generations of slaves, and now this is coming up. “Didn’t we tell you this would happen while we were still in Egypt? We said, ‘Leave us alone. Let us be slaves to the Egyptians.’”

Prayer leader Jeannie…

Let me finish … I’m going to do this while evil’s pressing on you. This is what they say.

Mike…

“It’s better to be a slave in Egypt than a corpse in the wilderness.” Is it really?

Jeannie…

Okay, so let’s bring this into right now. “Well, it’s better to deal with reality.” “Well, we just need to deal with what’s happening here and what’s happening there.” “It doesn’t matter what you did, God, here, here, and here. I can’t see it right now, so if I can’t see it, and if I’m feeling the pressure of the enemy on all sides, it’s just better to accept it and go back to the way it was and just accept it.”

Holy Spirit, help me articulate this because we are going to take off in prayer with this in about three minutes.

So we have an impossible situation in front, and I am reminding you of all the impossibilities behind you. So you’re in the middle of all this. And because of fear, what’s coming out of your mouth?

“Leave us alone. Let’s just go back and be slaves to the Egyptians. We told you this was going to happen. Why did you bring us out here to die? This is ridiculous. I thought you were with us.”

Okay? So you stay there.

But then God says, “Go forward.” I go forward, that thing gets out of the way. That is where we’re at today. Yes, we are in places we’ve never been before. We are. It looks like, “How is this thing going to break through? I’ve never been here before. I can’t see how He’s going to do it. It’s a Red Sea! And I’m experiencing the pressure from the enemy.”

God says “Don’t fret…”

The enemy’s not relenting. So you’ve got an enemy that won’t relent. And then you’ve got an impossible situation right in front of you. You have both. So you have the weariness of an unrelenting enemy if you give into it, and then you have in front of you an impossible situation. Yet, your God is saying, “Don’t fret because of evildoers.” And He’s been saying that before Christ, before Jesus died on the cross, before Jesus overcame everything for us. He’s saying to you, “Don’t fret because of what they’re doing.”

The enemy’s time is about to wither and come to an end…

Why would He say that? Because He says they have a season too. Their time is up. They’re about to wither. So you’ll notice even with the Israelites when they were whiny, God in His mercy, all they had to do was keep moving. And the impossible gave way to who God was.

You know that is exactly where you’re at right now. That’s exactly where we’re at right now.

But here’s the thing. We decide. We choose. What are we going to do?

You know what, Jeannie? Great segue because we’re about to pray.

Yeah, we do feel that pressure. We do feel the oldness of… yeah, here’s the enemy, just won’t relent, he keeps going, and oh my gosh, a brand new situation. I can’t see how he’s going to do it.”

Know God’s character…

And God says, “Don’t fret. Know My character. Know I’m a rewarder. Know that I never go back on My Word. Know that I’m a God of fulfillment. You’re not just here to hear a promise and not have it fulfilled, not walk it out, not experience it, right?

Yes, it doesn’t matter how it looks. Why? Because it’s about to look really good!

Prayed…

God, I thank you that you gave us the authority.
I thank you that the body of Christ is entering that place of abiding in You.
Abiding in You and fruitfulness happens.
I thank you that we have come to the realization that without you, we can do nothing.
In fact, these situations are just opportunities to experience your authority, to experience who we are in you.
We speak to things and they move.
And we trust in you.
We lean not on our own understanding.
In all of our ways, we acknowledge you, and you say, “Get moving.”
