Morning Prayer Summary for Wednesday, September 9, 2026

Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today

Pastor Ken…

Good morning! It is Wednesday, the 9th of September. Good to have you guys here.

Announcement…

Next week is our For His Kingdom conference, so there will not be any prayer in the mornings throughout next week. So carry on in prayer yourself with whatever the Lord leads you. Because we’ve got pastors from all over the world joining us and guest speakers and people, it’s going to be a full week around here at Living Word. So no morning prayer next week. We’ll resume the week after.

We are living in a precarious time…

This morning, I thought I would share a few passages of scripture with you, maybe point a couple things out, and then I want to give a good chunk of time to prayer this morning. I feel like God is going to grant us some specific prayers that we are to pray and to lift up to Him collectively. How many of you know we live in a very seemingly precarious but consequential time?

Matthew 24:42…

In fact, in Matthew 24:42, Jesus gave us instructions before He left the earth regarding the generation that is to be on the earth at the end of days. That’s us!

It’s a good time to be alive. We live in a day of great consequence and great opportunity, and good things that we get to participate in through prayer and through our individual callings and what God has assigned for our lives. But in Matthew 24:42, the New King James reads, “Watch therefore,” Jesus says, “for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known…” Well, that could be you. That’s you. You’re the master of your house, your heart, your life, your household. “Had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to become broken into. Therefore, you also be ready. For the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

We need to get to our “spots” in the plan of God…

This is not something we have to freak out about, but it’s something to pay attention to. And it should remind us and prompt us, once again, that we need to get to our spots, as I say, in the plan of God. We need to get to our spot in prayer and stay there, even if it’s just so many X number of minutes a day. God is coveting, God is summoning our participation in this great end time move of God for awakening around the world, for a great harvest of a billion, two billion plus souls, for the bringing into reality of a fresh wave of signs, wonders, miracles, working of healings, deliverances, even whole nations coming to Christ in a day. All things are possible if we’ll believe. And we’ll have our attention set on Him.

Colossians 3:2 says…

“Set your mind on things above, not things that are on this earth.” Now, we can pay attention to what’s going on in the earth because Jesus gave us many earmarks that would foretell or prompt us that the hour of His return is not far away. And one of those is what’s going on in the earth. I don’t know about you, but I’ve noticed that just in the last three, four, five months, there have been a string of earthquakes that have hit a number of nations and cities.

I see our brother Jeffer is, is here this morning. He’s from Colombia. He’s been spending a lot of time in Colombia here recently. And he’s visiting us, I think, for the conference this week, so it’s good to have him here. But I know they had an earthquake down there, here not too long ago. Just a string of really significant earthquakes, 6.0 and higher on the Richter scale.

Volcanoes in Southeast Asia…

And then I saw a post just yesterday, somebody posted the five, six, or seven volcanoes that have erupted just especially in Southeast Asia in just the last few weeks here, honestly, even less. Of course, we all heard about Hawaii, one of our states and how Princeville on the north end of Kauai just got slammed and other parts of Hawaii as well by was it Lowell? What was the hurricane that just hit there? Lowell, I believe it was. And they don’t get hurricanes a whole lot in Hawaii, so that was unusual for them. So that and so much more, whether it be rumors and wars and rumors of wars, division in nations, including our own turmoils and upsets and unprecedented events portend, or foretell, or should help us to see that we at least are in the beginning of the birth pangs of the last days.

We’re called to be watchers…

And that should be a reminder to us to be watchful. We’re called to be watchers as followers… I won’t even say pray-ers, as followers of Jesus. Every one of us has a responsibility to watch over our own hearts, to watch over our household, our families, our churches, our city, our nation, et cetera. Yes, while deliverance and answers can show up swiftly in an individual life and things can be changed in a day, sometimes things are a process when it comes to a nation that is steeped in rebellion and wickedness and a turning from God. We are in the process of turning our nation back to God, through our prayers, through our faithfulness, through our persistence in standing for what is right and just and good according to God’s plan.

Galatians 5:16 Amplified Classic states…

“But I say, walk and live habitually in the Holy Spirit.” I love this. Parenthetically it says, “Responsive to and controlled and guided by the Holy Spirit.” That’s the message of the hour right there. I don’t need to prophesy. This is what the Spirit of God is saying to the church. That we’re to walk and live habitually, in other words, continuously on a daily basis as a matter of our norm, what we do daily in the Holy Spirit, responsive to and controlled and guided by the Holy Spirit.

This is what’s going to get us where God is taking us next.
This is what’s going to enable us to walk out the plan of God in its fullness.
This is what’s going to equip us and enable us to be His representatives in this hour to the earth, to facilitate signs, wonders, and miracles.

The signs of a bona fide believer…

The last time I checked, my Bible still says that one of the earmarks or the characteristics of a bona fide born-again believer in Jesus is that they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover. It doesn’t say someone who stands in a pulpit or has a long history of family being in ministry. It says a sign of a believer, a blood-bought, sanctified, redeemed by the blood of Jesus person is to lay hands on the sick and see them recover. If they drink any deadly thing on accident, it shall not hurt nor harm them. They will speak in other tongues, right? Hallelujah. They shall cast out demonic entities from people, and they shall be set free. So this is the hour when the Lord is summoning the church to stand up, pay attention, and be accounted for in the rank and file of the Kingdom of God and its armies.

It goes on to say…

“Then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh of human nature without God.” So we’re not to be living controlled by our lower nature, living a low life dominated by, controlled by our lower nature, but rather we’re to be guided and controlled and led by the Holy Spirit on the inside of us.

John 15:7, a blank check in scripture…

Ready for another scripture? Here’s a great prerequisite for prayer. If you ever wanted to know is there a blank check in scripture that God has presented to each of us, there is. John 15:7 says, “If you abide…” Remember, abide simply means to live, remain, and dwell. “If you abide in me and my words abide,” live, remain, and dwell, “in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” It’ll be granted to you. Hallelujah!

Proverbs 4:23 says…

“Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance, and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.” So in other words, in prayer, be watchful over your own heart. Be watchful and ever listening for the guidance, strategy, and instruction of the Holy Spirit.

Remember, Jesus Himself said that the Holy Spirit was sent to be to our advantage. He was there to change the game, to be profitable for us in all things, including your finances, including your relationships. He is the ultimate strategist who is able to make you look like a genius. Why? If you listen to Him, because He is the genius of heaven, the genius of Jesus, God the Holy Spirit. And oh, how we desperately need Him in every facet and arena of our lives.

Words and prayers are “atmospheric output…”

We need Him this morning as we pray, right? There are some things on the Father’s heart that He wants us to get out, to articulate. Somebody once said that words and prayers are “atmospheric output.” They release something. Well, first of all, they release faith. They release the Father’s intentions. When you decree a thing so that it might be established, it releases the hand of God. Because without Him, we can’t. But without us, He won’t, somebody once said.

In other words, we can’t do it alone, the plan of God. We can’t even do our own lives alone. Without Him, we can do nothing, as Jesus articulated. And without us, the Father won’t. Because He’s chosen to partner once again with humanity, with those who would call upon His name.

That’s you and I.

You are a full partner in the Kingdom of God operations on the earth in this end of days. We’re here to shift the direction of what’s going on and…

Move it to the right side of things
Move it in the direction of what the Father has in mind
Move it to what He has planned for your life, for your family

Jesus desires to be merciful…

If Jesus’ return seems to be delayed, that’s because He’s merciful. He desires mercy to triumph over judgment. He desires a bigger family. He desires that your whole household would be saved, you and your whole household, as the Bible promises.

So I challenge you today…

Are you fully awake? Is your spirit watching for the leadership of the Holy Spirit on this 9th of September, 2026? The next remaining months in 2026 can be and will be the most consequential season up until this point of your life and the church that we have ever seen. But we must be fully awake. We must live in an attitude of, “I’m going to redeem my time today.”

Yeah, I’ve got to pay the mortgage.
Yeah, I’ve got to go to work.
Yeah, I’ve got to deal with my pet or whatever you’ve got going on.

I get that…

But in between and during that time, we can still be astute in spirit. We can still be watchful. The Bible calls us to be on the walls of the outpouring of the Lord, watching and praying. Jesus said to His disciples, “Could you not pray with me for even 60 minutes.” For one hour. I’m not saying you have to do that today, but point being, we should be watchful. Our hearts must be open. There’s something about praying in the Spirit, even just taking five minutes on your break today, praying in the Spirit, that will open up your spirit so that you’re open to the Lord and His movements and His strategies and His guidance, and you’re watchful. Because…

There might be a word He wants you to say.
There might be a scripture He might want you to pray.
There might be an assignment He has for you in the natural.

He wants you to step into that and completely upset the enemy’s plans and route him before he even gets started in your family, in your job, in your finances, in your health, in whatever situation.

God is granting a level up…

What got us in our lives and in the church to this point is not going to get us where we need to go next. God is granting, make no mistake about it, a level up in how we’re doing our lives. And that level up is, “Hey, Church, wake up. It’s time to be fully alert now, fully present now. Be where your feet are at in the Spirit, and be available and open to God the Holy Spirit who wants to use us…”

God wants to use your mouth and mind…

As I said last week, Pastor Lynne said this a couple weeks ago, she said, “The Lord wants to borrow your mind and your mouth today.” There are so many situations, so many lives that need transformation, so many opportunities to invade nations, to shift the course of world events, to shift the course of our economy right now in America. But what is necessary, what is requisite is somebody who will say, “Hey, Lord, here I am. Send me into the fight. Send me with a word to pray today. Put on me a spirit of prayer that I might pray in my heavenly prayer language to articulate and decree and put out there in the realm of the Spirit the Word of God, the plan of God, so that it can be changed.”
