Morning Prayer Summary for Thursday, February 14, 2019

Mary led group in worship…

Pastor Ray…

Thank You for direction that You said You would show us things to come… Thank You for Your presence… in that presence, there is help from heaven to do what needs to be done… in us, through us, for You… Your plan, Your big picture plan… thank You, Lord…

I want to read 2nd Chronicles 7:14–15 and also something that Owen Murphy said in “When God Stepped Down From Heaven.”  At the beginning after Solomon prayed “Now arise, O Lord God, and come into your resting place.” Praying a supernatural prayer. What happened? When he finished, the fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices and the glory of the Lord filled the house. When Mary was singing that song, He’s here in the midst of us. I take it personally. He’s working in here, working in our houses, working in the church, working in the body. I just love that, that the glory of the Lord filled the house after they prayed. The priests could not enter the house of the Lord because the glory of the Lord had filled the Lord’s house. How about that?

This is so cool, because when the people of Israel saw how the fire came down and the glory of the Lord fell upon the house, they bowed with their faces upon the pavement and worshiped and praised the Lord saying, “For he is good, for his mercy and loving kindness endures forever.” These are principles for us. In verse 12, the Lord appeared to Solomon by night after this whole scene and said, “I’ve heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a house of sacrifice.” Verse 14, “If my people who are called by my name…” Now this is a covenant. In this book, he goes through how one tribe would make a blood covenant with the others. They would slice their wrist, mix their blood and drink it. That’s different. But we have a New Covenant. We don’t have to do that. But they did it. The cool thing was that if it was like a smaller tribe or group of people, if they could cut a covenant with a group or tribe that was much bigger and stronger then if the little tribe has a problem with an enemy, the enemy knows they have a blood covenant with this tribe over here. We will be toast if we come up against this small tribe because they have a covenant. So here we’re talking about a covenant. There’s a couple things this man said I want to share. Then I want to read this short testimony.

“If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer offered in this place.” 2nd Chronicles 7:14–15 Amp.

We’ve done that. It’s not just this place in the Old Testament. It’s where we’ve entered into this covenant.

This man calls it “covenant prayer” when you’re really entering into it, you’re reminding yourself and the Lord you have a covenant with God almighty. We may be little but He’s big. This is what he said.

First of all, however, there must be the decision to enter such a covenant. “If My people will them will I.”

Secondly, there must be absolute obedience to the “conditions” laid down (v. 14).

Thirdly, there must be implicit faith that God will stand by His Word. Doubt or unbelief annuls the contract. This covenant is just as binding upon God as it is upon us. Through the covenant, we are “one” with God and His purposes, and have a covenant right to His resources and action. When men solemnly covenant with God, upon the basis of His Promise, and fulfill the conditions, they step into a new world of power with God.

Covenant Prayer is the answer to your need. It has always been the answer to mine. Before its tremendous power, impossibilities disappear. From the midst of countless amazing miracles that God has brought in my life, through covenant prayer, is my miracle healing that has thrilled and inspired thousands throughout the world. Each time I stand before an audience, I stand as living proof of the miracle-working power of covenant prayer.

Just a few years ago, suddenly stricken with polio and paralyzed from the waist downwards, I was pronounced as hopelessly incurable by five London specialists. Having heard of the amazing results of covenant prayer. In desperation, my wife and I sought the face of God. According to that pattern that a miracle might be wrought and new health be given. Only God could have done anything in such a helpless case. A few weeks later, the answer came. Suddenly and thrillingly.

It was a dark, foggy morning, and as I lay there helplessly upon my bed in prayer, the whole of my room was suddenly filled with the wonderful presence of the Lord. It seemed as though the sun had suddenly shone through the fog and filled the whole of my room with its light. A strange and wonderful peace swept over my weakened body, a new life surged through my helpless muscles and strengthened by the mighty power of God, stepped out of my bed made every whit whole. Without a mark of polio anywhere upon my body, I was made perfectly well and in radiant health and strength. I stand today as a genuine miracle of God’s goodness and power.

The only one who entered my room that morning was the master Himself with healing in His blessed hands. He came in answer to covenant prayer.

In days when multitudes are proving the power of this wonderful Bible-centered prayer, a new world of power and blessing opens before you.

If tonight, upon your knees with an open Bible before you, you will enter a solemn covenant with God (upon the basis of His own promise in 2 chron. 7:14), and in absolute faith and obedience fulfill the conditions laid down, a mighty covenant-keeping God will “hear from heaven” and will meet your every need.

Prayed…

Lord, I know You’re helping us to not ever enter into a religiosity kind of praying. That our hearts would be softened and melted toward You…

Erika shared…

In the middle of what Pastor Ray was sharing, the Lord changed up what I was going to share. But I believe it’s better. Reading from John 16 out of the Passion translation. “It’s to your advantage that I go away, for if I don’t go away the Divine Encourager will not be released to you. But after I depart, I will send him to you. 8 And when he comes, he will expose sin and prove that the world is wrong about God’s righteousness and his judgments.” Then going back to John 14:12, “I tell you this timeless truth: The person who follows me in faith, believing in me, will do the same mighty miracles that I do—even greater miracles than these because I go to be with my Father! 13 For I will do whatever you ask me to do when you ask me in my name. And that is how the Son will show what the Father is really like and bring glory to him. 14 Ask me anything in my name, and I will do it for you!” Verse 15, “Loving me empowers you to obey my commands. 16–17 And I will ask the Father and he will give you another Savior, the Holy Spirit of Truth, who will be to you a friend just like me.”

Commentary: “The Greek word allos means “another of the same kind.” As Jesus is the Savior from the guilt of sin, the Holy Spirit is the Savior who saves us from the power of sin by living through us in fullness.”

“…and he will never leave you. The world won’t receive him because they can’t see him or know him. But you will know him intimately, because he will make his home in you and will live inside you.”

Commentary: The Greek word used here is paráklētos, a technical word that could be translated “defense attorney.” It means “one called to stand next to you as a helper.” Various translations have rendered this “Counselor,” “Comforter,” “Advocate,” “Encourager,” “Intercessor,” or “Helper.” However, none of these words alone are adequate and fall short in explaining the full meaning. The translator has chosen the word Savior, for it depicts the role of the Holy Spirit to protect, defend, and save us from our self and our enemies and keep us whole and healed. He is the One who guides and defends, comforts and consoles. Keep in mind that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ, our Savior. The Aramaic word is paraqleta, which is taken from two root words: (1) praq, “to end, finish, or to save,” and (2) lyta, which means “the curse.” What a beautiful word picture, the Holy Spirit comes to end the work of the curse (of sin) in our lives and to save us from its every effect! Paraqleta means “a redeemer who ends the curse.”

Prayed…

Thank You, Father, that You did not leave us orphans… that we’ve entered into the new way, the New Covenant and You’re provided everything for us… You sent another One just like Yourself to do exactly what Jesus would do… the same Holy Spirit, the One who redeems us from every form of the curse… so Father, thank You for giving us power to do our part of the covenant… to fulfill our part of the deal… we’ve entered into a love covenant … You empower us by the Holy Spirit… You didn’t leave us as orphans… You’ve made every provision for us in Christ Jesus… Father, we believe and trust You that You’re causing eyes to see and ears to hear… that You are not a man that You should lie, that You are a covenant-keeping God… You keep Your covenant with those who will simply bend and bow and confess and believe and receive… and enter into a blood covenant with You… Father, we thank You for the wind of Your Holy Spirit… thank You for working through the five-fold ministry gifts for the equipping of the saints… for the perfection and equipping… we ask You to blow Your wind across your five-fold ministry gifts… fire to fall on the sacrifice of your five-fold ministry gifts… grant unto them words from heaven… that will pierce and penetrate hearts of believers to set them on the path of ever ascending… operate in the glory of God… Father, we receive from You and Your Word and Your Spirit… we trust You with our lives and our nation as a covenant keeping God… we look once again for an awakening and an outpouring of Your Spirit in the church and across this land… to such a degree and magnitude not one would escape, Father… that Your mercy and grace would cause hearts to be melted before You… to recognize You as the true God… we apply the blood of Jesus across this land, from sea to sea… washing this nation to be pure… working in ways that are … the church arising and moving together… with our shields of faith linked together… with our hearts linked together… one heart, one mind…
