Prayer Summary for August 19

Prayed…

Thank You, Father, for continually directing us
Lord, You are our shepherd leading us by still waters
A place of peace, comfort and rest—we receive it all today

Scripture focus…

(1) “In the year that King Uzziah died, [in a vision] I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and the skirts of His train filled the [most holy part of the] temple. (2) Above Him stood the seraphim; each had six wings: with two [each] covered his [own] face, and with two [each] covered his feet, and with two [each] flew. (3) And one cried to another and said, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory! (4) And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who cried, and the house was filled with smoke. (5) Then said I, Woe is me! For I am undone and ruined, because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts! (6) Then flew one of the seraphim [heavenly beings] to me, having a live coal in his hand which he had taken with tongs from off the altar; (7) And with it he touched my mouth and said, Behold, this has touched your lips; your iniquity and guilt are taken away, and your sin is completely atoned for and forgiven. (8) Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for Us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” Isaiah 6:1–8 (Amp.)

The following commentary was taken from the Revival Study Bible:

Isaiah 6:8 Go Means a Change of Location

Jesus answered this question, “Who will go for Us?” by telling all His followers to go. He said, “Go into the entire world, and preach the gospel to all creation.”

Jesus commands us to go. That demands action on our part, movement (Matt. 19), and a change from old environments, local efforts, and neighborhood goals. It means a new decision, a new set of priorities, perhaps a completely new lifestyle. Jesus placed the Great Commission as top priority. It was not a command given to a few select Christians, but to all of us. By the one word “Go,” He placed evangelism above every other involvement.

Three things happen when a person obeys our Lord’s command to go:
1. His message makes a definite impact. By the very act of going, especially going some distance, the messenger underlines the importance of what he has to say. If this single message is important enough to leave home and family and go far away to an alien people, the un-evangelized will recognize it as an important message to hear and believe.

Once after traveling over four hundred miles inland by a single-engine plane and then continuing on foot with two interpreters into an African village where no outside visitor had ever set foot, I was received as a V.I.P. The chief came out to greet me and became my gracious host. Those villagers did not know me. I was a total stranger. However, I had come from afar. This was transferred immediately to the Gospel message I brought. I was the first ever to preach the Gospel to them, and my going added great impact to my message.

2. A stranger is accepted. It is usually easier for a person to get started in evangelism in another location than in his hometown. Not only is he better received, but he is far less self-conscious. He also does not have to defend his motives for evangelism is not out to build up the attendance of his particular church. When he recommends a new convert to attend a local church, he has nothing to gain from it. The true love and unity of the Church is exemplified, and it is clear to everyone that his concern is for the care of the new convert and for God’s kingdom.

This aspect of going with the Gospel is especially appropriate for young people. Youth are highly mobile, flexible, and ready to go at a moment’s notice. At no other time in their lives can they so easily take up the challenge to move out in evangelism; restless, they are likely to go anyway, but for selfish reasons. We must challenge them to go for God’s reasons.

3. A change of location adds breadth to the individual and to the body of Christ. There is an exchange of vision, understanding, teaching, and service. This cross pollination promotes unity and cooperation worldwide, strengthening both the person and the Church.

Pastor Ray shared…

We have not been called to stay in the same place doing the same thing. If we do, it will turn into a religious work and it will be a waste of time. Because whatever we allow to turn into a religious way, every time we do it this way or that way, it becomes a religious work because it’s not a heart work. When He said it’s a command to go, I believe as prayers we are commanded to go in the Spirit to all the nations of the earth. I know there is a time to go literally, physically to go somewhere but all of it is based on the direction and leading of the Spirit whatever we do; wherever we go. And so when we come here into this chapel, we have been given by the Lord a place to come corporately together in His name to welcome the presence of the Holy Spirit but then be willing to be led and pray out and go where He tells us to go. Corporately, we go together. But each one of us He works in us and I know He continually speaks to us while we go. That way, corporately, we cover many different facets or situations and plans that the Holy Spirit is directing us in and directing us to go to.

Today, the first thing that comes into my heart right now is wells. Places where manifestations of the Holy Spirit already has been poured out—actually cities and nations, churches, ministries. We just begin to re-water so to speak, place our prayers and call for a rising up and for wells to be dug out once again. We will just start right here in our own cities, Minneapolis and St. Paul, words have been spoken about the place that we are located—the northern part of the United States. Words by the Spirit have been declared not just by one person but more than one by the Spirit of God there will be an outpouring, a revival that will take place up here in the northern part of the United States, Minnesota. We are familiar with a prophecy that was spoken that it will go down south from here. It will flow like the river of the Mississippi. But it will begin by the Spirit.

And sometimes, you know, we forget about it. We just don’t continue on lifting it and watering it, watering the words spoken and a lot of the times we will just stay comfortable in our own house – I am not saying our apartment or home but our own heart. We are so comfortable we just sit there and we stay status quo. We stay comfortable and we don’t go. It’s the call of the Spirit that’s calling us up and calling us out.

And those two letters that speak go, I know that’s a direction by the Holy Spirit. We will speak over those wells, those places, areas, regions, and get ourselves in agreement with the words that were already declared – up here in the north there would be a fire burning, a bright light in the northern part of the city. When people would come in to the airport they would see it and be drawn to it. Hallelujah!

Lifting up words spoken through Your ministers
Where 35W crosses the river, we call forth that move of Your Spirit
With the young people in the universities
Seeing it and declaring it shall come forth
Pleading the blood of the Lamb over all the areas
From the north moving south and reaching out to the east and to the west
Praying over the ears, eyes, and hearts of those that will be touched
The former and latter rain being poured out together
Sign, wonders, and happenings!
Denominations changed—embracing Your Holy Spirit
State by state we call for it—Fire! Fire! Fire!
Not limited but moving on in there—steady as we go
Growing in strength
Calling nation upon nation upward for an awakening
Missionaries—strength to them today
Going in the right way and more than enough resources to do the call
Not blending in but becoming salt and light

A Word of the Lord came forth:

I just heard in my spirit that when it seems like you are at the end of your rope, when you give up and say “I don’t have a clue and I don’t know where to go and I don’t know what to do,” that’s when I will enter in and call you up and speak even more clearly because your ears have been open and you’re hearing what I’ve said and you’re hearing what I’ll say. For you can’t do it. Yesterday you couldn’t do it. Today you can’t do it, nor tomorrow but I did it yesterday and I am doing it today and I’ll do it tomorrow. It’s not you anyway! It’s Me in and through you! Take comfort, Church. Take comfort My people and notify your body and notify your mind and notify your legs. You have strength to contend! And notify your mouth—My words will come through. So don’t give up; don’t give up. Just yield to Me and I will take you all the way to the very end. It’s My Spirit anyway. It’s My call, My direction to one and all.

We receive a lifting, endurance today
Right on the edge there—stepping on over!

Word of the Lord came forth:

For you are the sheep and I am the Shepherd, and I am in the driver’s seat. Take your place. Be led and directed. I will show you the way that you should go. I’ll do the driving. I’ll do the leading. I’ll do the directing but your ears must be opened to hear and see the way I will lead you through. For I have given directions to stay up above and not below. I’ve given directions for you to stay at the head and not the tail. I’ll drive you. I am leading you. I said I would… rest, rest, for all of the rest for the days and weeks and months to come. It’s easy saith the Lord. It’s easy. I’ll show you. I am showing you! You know it. Going forth in victory—go forth and go through and go over and if you have to go around but go through. I have called you, My children. Do not settle back. Status quo is not the way to go but contend and I will continually show you the ways, the plans you are to go.

It’s not always the way you’ve gone before. These are new days and new doors. Ha! Ha! Ha! Some of the old ways worked then but I am calling you to the new—to go through! Every day, every day, every minute of every day ha! ha! ha! Lean not on your own understanding. No, but just lean on Me. My strength will get you through. My touch, My Spirit is strengthening you… My church, My body, My children all the way through. Victory is for every day. Victories every day in every way just receive. Receive it today by faith. Receive victories today from Me by faith, by faith receive victories today.

Annie sings…

Fret not I say just dwell in Me, Dwell in me, You shall be fed
Dwell in Me, My goodness and you shall be fed
Drink of Me, drink of Me, drink of Me
They make you live, they make you live, the waters I give you make you live
So fret not I say, so fret not I say, just dwell in Me and you shall be fed
Dwell in Me, drink of Me and you shall be fed

Continued praying…

There is a strengthening as we come together everyday
Coming only to meet with You and yield and then You speak to us
Thank You, Father, for the right words in season
That we are always where we need to be
For strength and comfort that come from You
We declare we are above only because of the precious blood
Thank You, Lord, for this day Wednesday—we declare it blessed in Jesus’ name
