Morning Chapel Prayer Today
Pastor Ken…
Good morning! Good to see you all. Welcome and hello, everyone, who’s joining us. Good to have you with us as well. My name is Ken, if you didn’t already know.
Isaiah 22:22…
I thought I would start off by sharing a couple of things with you. I have been thinking on Isaiah 22:22. And I’ll start there. It states…
“And the key of the house of David I will lay upon his shoulder.”
That’s Jesus. Well, guess what? We’re in Him. He’s in us. So He’s laid a key on our shoulder.
“And he…” or we… “shall open and no one shall shut. He shall shut and no one shall open.”
And there’s probably a lot that could be said about that passage, but without a doubt, this does imply prayer. This does refer to the ability for us to exercise our authority through the power of binding and loosing, through the use of the name of Jesus. And so I believe today we’re going to shut some things. And we’re going to open some things according to God’s plan and timetable and design.
Barbara Yoder talks about where the church is at right now…
And I guess for a little more context, I’m going to read something to you from somebody by the name of Barbara Yoder. I love things that help me to know where we’re at, and I feel like this was an inspired word, without a doubt. And she just shares some things about kind of where we’re at spiritually speaking. And perhaps what God is up to. You ever done that? I pray that often…
Lord, what are you up to?
What should I be thinking now?
What are you doing?
What do I need to be paying attention to?
Where can I join you in the work that you’re doing?
But Barbara writes…
“For years, quietly beneath the surface, often unrecognized, God has been moving with intentional precision toward a divine birthing in the earth.”
That’s something that caught my attention because we’ve prayed about transition. We’ve prayed about birthing many times.
“What many have interpreted as loss, disruption, or even unbearable pressure was never designed to destroy. It was surgical. It was purposeful. It was God unhooking His people from what was, severing dependencies on former structures, mindsets, people, and identities that could not carry what is now emerging.”
I don’t know about you, but that’s something that’s been on my mind lately too. Another reason why this resonated with me. Just praying about…
Lord, what do I need to unhook from?
What needs to be pruned from my life?
What do I need to sell?
What do I need to move out that was good in one season but it’s not necessary for the next season?
Challenge: What might that be for you?
Because oftentimes God wants to do some pruning. He wants us to do some organizing. He wants us to do some moving out of some old things, some previous season things, to make room for the new. So I just want to challenge you: What might that be for you?
Now it’s a new season…
It might be something that’s been good up until now, but it was for that season. Now it’s a new season. And it could be natural, could be spiritual, could be relational. So I like how she puts words around this.
She goes on to say…
“He has been training a people,” that’s us, “in a crucible of conflict, strengthening them, fortifying them, awakening them. Through struggle came strength.”
Aren’t you glad that even when the enemy creates issues and problems and challenges, and we face struggles, that if we’ll approach it by faith, if we’ll navigate our steps intentionally with the Lord’s help that even though the enemy meant it for harm, it backfires in his face? That trial, that trouble, that temptation, that dark night of the soul, that navigation through the value of the shadow of death, that if we’ll stay with it and stay with God, God will use it to strengthen us, change us, prepare us, in fact, for what comes next.
She says…
“Through fire came revelation. Through pressure came clarity. And through it all, He has been repositioning a remnant for what is next. The next move of God will not coexist peacefully with the old. It will confront it.”
Pastor Ken shares commentary…
I’m going to insert some of my commentary. In some of my praying, I’m just being open in my heart that the move of God may not look what I think it should look like. It may be unconventional from human perspective and my standpoint. I just want God to move however He wants to move—through whoever He wants to move… however, wherever. Maybe much of what He wants to do will be done in a way we didn’t even think about that that was possible. We just want God to have His way.
She goes on to say that…
“He’s repositioning a remnant for what is next. The next move of God will not coexist peacefully with the old. It will confront it. Every misaligned structure, every ineffective paradigm or thought pattern, every man-built system that could not produce the heart and purposes of God has been and is being dismantled. Some of it has happened quietly. Some has been chaotic and totally disorienting. But make no mistake, what appears as chaos is often the sound of God deconstructing what He never intended to sustain because there has always been something greater unfolding beyond what could be seen and perceived.
“God is tearing down in order to rebuild (Jeremiah 1:10). Reforming both people and structures and preparing for the unveiling of something far more aligned with His original intent. The formation of a people into a temple which He will fill with His glory and His presence, living in their very midst. What is this ‘new’? It is not new in origin. It is ancient. It is the rebirth of God’s original design and intent for His church. A generation is arising that will not be marked by self-preservation but by surrender. Like Isaac, the prophetic archetype of Jesus, they will willingly lay themselves on the altar, not for recognition, not for a platform, but to make God known—truly known in the earth.
“They will carry a singular conviction. ‘It is not about us.’ It is about Him, His name, His glory, and His purpose in creation. God has been forming a force, not just individuals.
“What is a force? A people with one heart, one mind, and one spirit gathered around a common vision. A people who see together, move together, and burn with a uniform revelation of what God is doing in the earth. And when that convergence happens, when those called find one another and come into divine alignment, the birthing of what can only be described as the “latter house” will begin, according to Haggai 2:9. It will begin according to God’s biblical timeline.”
She goes on to say…
“The month of Lyar…” L-Y-A-R “which we have just come through, marks a season of formation and alignment for builders.* In Ezra 3:8, it was the very time that those appointed were set in place to oversee the rebuilding of God’s house. Not the first structure, but the restoration of what once was. As it was in the Old Testament, so it is now. The rebuilding of what He originally intended but was destroyed. And this is where we stand. God has been calling and releasing a people to rebuild His true dwelling place. Not a building made with hands, but a people who become a habitation for His presence. This is far beyond gifts, beyond prophecy, beyond preaching. This is about building a house for God, a dwelling place where He is not visited but enthroned, where He does not pass through but abides, where His glory is not occasional, but constant.
“God is actively undoing the constructs of man to establish something wholly centered on Himself. God has made it clear who can carry this. In Isaiah 66:1–2, He declares that He is looking for those who are humble, contrite, and who tremble at His Word.”
In other words, we have a reverential fear or awe of Him.
“These are the ones who are selected to build and become His dwelling place. Not the gifted, not the impressive, but the surrendered.”
So did you catch that? It says surrendered. We need to know that God calls us to surrender day by day.
She writes…
“Finally, when He finds such a people and when He fills that house with His glory, everything will change. Because where His glory dwells, impossibility bows. Miracles become normal. Signs and wonders follow as evidence, not exception. And the very things that have been prophesied, longed for, and contended for will erupt into a reality far beyond anything we could ever have imagined.
“This is not hype. This is habitation. God is preparing a people to host Him, a people transformed into living stones, repositioned to become the very tabernacle of God, the dwelling place of God, the latter house, which will be far more glorious than the former house.”
The church is where God Himself habitates…
Did you catch that? Yeah, we may come and gather in this house physically, but you and I are to be the house ultimately where He inhabits, where He lives, where He dwells, where He’s in full manifestation, not hidden back in some corner or the recesses of a closet in our innermost being, but fully in manifestation brought forward in and through our lives. Brought to the forefront of our lives for the world to see. And for Jesus to put on display His glory to the world.
Prayed…
And so, Father, we thank You this morning for this marked moment in time on the timetable of Your plan and Your purpose.
We’re so thankful, Father, that You are with us today. You are for us today, and You desire to flow through us.
Lord, we just humble our hearts before You.
We recognize that in ourselves, we can do nothing, like Jesus stated.
But we can do all things in You.
And so we just humble ourselves and say, Lord, we surrender ourselves willingly to You today.
We say, Lord, less of us and more of you today.
Not our plans nor our agenda, but let your agenda, your plans, your way, let it come forth through our prayers today, through our worship today, through our time today, Father.
We want all of you and less of ourselves.
And so we just repent, Lord, where we have been self-serving.
Where we have been focused on our agenda and our deal.
Where we have been maybe in self-preservation mode in some way.
Looking out exclusively for our interests.
Lord, we just repent of that and say, Holy Spirit, invade our hearts, invade our lives today.
We give you permission to supernaturally inundate us and change us and awaken us from within.
To be fully alert at this time and point in your timetable of events.
