Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today

Worship leader Goke

Good morning and welcome to morning prayer. Are you ready to bless the name of the Lord? Let’s give Him praise. Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and all that is within me. Bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, oh my soul, for the Lord is good, and His mercy endures forever. He is good and His mercy endures forever.

Prayed…

Lord, you are good, and your mercy endures forever. Truly, Lord, you are good to Israel. My soul knows this very well. Thank you, Lord. Thank you for your grace and your mercy. Thank you, Jesus.

The greatest potential to compete with the love of God in our hearts…

It’s in my heart to read a couple of scriptures before we start singing. And I know you’ve heard this 100 times and more, maybe 1,000 times. But I believe God wants us to be reminded of this, this morning as we worship. It’s something that has the greatest potential to compete with the love of God in our hearts.

Matthew 6:25…

25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not [l]arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

Philippians 4:4…

“Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

1 Peter 5:6–7

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time…” How do we do that? Verse 7 “…casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”

Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Casting all your cares upon Him. All the cares about tomorrow, all the cares about what will I eat, what will I drink? Will there be peace on earth? What will happen to my children?

Casting your cares enables you to be able to worship Him freely…

When we cast all those cares upon Him, then we’re able to worship Him freely. Hallelujah. Let’s just do that this morning. Hallelujah.

Prayed…
We cast all our cares upon you.
We know we are not able to bear those cares.
In fact, your Word says when we are carrying all those cares, they choke the Word of God.
They are like thorns that choke the Word of God.
It makes the Word of God unfruitful in our lives.
But this morning, we choose to cast every care upon you.
And we just fall in love with you because you loved us first.
This is love: not that we loved you, but that you loved us first and gave yourself, Jesus, as a payment, as a propitiation, as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

Pastor Heather…

Let Him wash your cares away this morning.
We release that thought today.
That thing we’ve been worrying about.
That thing we’ve been thinking about.
The thing we’ve been meditating in not a good way.
We release that to you now, Father.
We release it into your hands.
You’re more than able to turn around every situation
You say in Psalm 139, you keep us from the harm of our past.
And you go out before us and you prepare a way.
You’re behind us. You’re in front of us and you’re wrapped all around us.

Just picture that now…

Picture God going behind you to protect you from your past, that has already walked out in front of you and prepared your future, and that is wrapped around you, encircling you. But also living on the inside and dwelling inside of you.

We’re surrounded.
We’re surrounded by His goodness.
We’re surrounded by His grace.
We’re surrounded by His mercy.
We’re surrounded by His power.
We’re surrounded by His joy.
We’re surrounded by His hope.

And filled, filled, filled to overflowing with the power of the Holy Spirit to speak and to address any situation that dares raise its head against us.

Today is the day!

I love what Goke read, and he didn’t know this, but I’ve been meditating on that verse in Luke for quite some time. And every time I bring it to prayer, I’m like, “Nope. Today’s not the day for that.” And so today’s the day for that. The Holy Spirit knew. And I love how He just weaves things together. But I’m going to read that verse out of Luke 12:22 from the Amplified Classic.

Luke 12:22 says…

22 “And [Jesus] said to His disciples, Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious and troubled [with cares] about your life, as to what you will [have to] eat; or about your body, as to what you will [have to] wear.

23 For life is more than food, and the body [more] than clothes.

24 Observe and consider the ravens; for they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn; and [yet] God feeds them. Of how much more worth are you than the birds!

25 And which of you by being overly anxious and troubled with cares can add a cubit to his stature or a moment [unit] of time to his age [the length of his life]?

26 If then you are not able to do such a little thing as that, why are you anxious and troubled with cares about the rest?

27 Consider the lilies, how they grow. They neither [wearily] toil nor spin nor weave; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory (his splendor and magnificence) was not arrayed like one of these.

28 But if God so clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today, and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you, O you [people] of little faith?”

He’s talking about more than clothes, right? He clothes us with His righteousness.

29 And you, do not seek [by meditating and reasoning to inquire into] what you are to eat and what you are to drink; nor be of anxious (troubled) mind [unsettled, excited, worried, and in suspense];

30 For all the pagan world is [greedily] seeking these things, and your Father knows that you need them.

31 Only aim at and strive for and seek His kingdom, and all these things shall be supplied to you also.

32 Do not be seized with alarm and struck with fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom!”

It’s His good pleasure. He loves to do it. It makes Him happy. Just like we love to bless our kids, He loves to give us the kingdom.

Verse 33, “Sell what you possess and give donations to the poor; provide yourselves with purses and handbags that do not grow old, an unfailing and inexhaustible treasure in the heavens, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.”

And here’s the part that I’ve been meditating on.

34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

35 Keep your loins girded and your lamps burning,

36 And be like men who are waiting for their master to return home from the marriage feast, so that when he returns from the wedding and comes and knocks, they may open to him immediately.

37 Blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are those servants whom the master finds awake and alert and watching when he comes. Truly I say to you, he will gird himself and have them recline at table and will come and serve them!

“That we would be awake and alert, ready for His coming.” So there’s something to be said for being anxious and having cares that makes us the opposite of “awake and alert.”

Worry is meditating…

And I’ve just been meditating on that. I’m like, “Lord, show me that. What’s that connection there?” There’s something when we’re weighed down with cares, when we’re anxious, when we’re meditating… That’s what worry is. Worry is meditating. That’s even here in the Amplified. But we’re not meditating on God. We’re not meditating on His Word. We’re meditating on the problem, right? We’re meditating on “how can we figure this out,” and we’re rolling the situation over and over in our head. That’s what meditation is.

Bill Johnson wisdom…

I love Bill Johnson. One time he said, “Who in here has ever worried about anything?” And, of course, everybody raised their hand, the ones that were being honest. He’s like, “Good, then you know how to meditate.” We know how to meditate, right? But what are we meditating on? And that’s what worry is. It’s a twisted form of meditation. It’s a twisted form of worship. If we meditate on God, we’re thinking about Him. We’re worshiping Him. We’re giving our thoughts, our praise to Him, right?

The definition of a vain thing…

When we worry, we’re meditating and thinking on the problem, thinking on any vain thing that raises itself against the Word of God, right? That’s what a vain imagination is: anything that’s the opposite of what God says.

So there’s something to be said about when we are anxious, when we have a care. When we’re taking cares, we’re not being awake and alert and ready for His coming. Our lamps aren’t burning, right?

Q. So how do we fix that?
A. We meditate on Him.

Q. How do you keep a lamp burning?
A. Oil.

Q. What’s oil?
A. The Holy Spirit.

We are not of this world…

I was thinking yesterday… My husband and I were watching a documentary of life under the ocean. I was thinking of that, and I feel like sometimes our life here on earth is like we’re scuba diving. We’re in this world, but we’re not of this world. And so you think of scuba divers. What do they have to do? They have to have air from the atmosphere. We need air from the atmosphere of heaven.

Q. What is that?
A. Prayer.

Are we like scuba divers?

So that when we go down into this world that we’re in—but we’re not of—we can’t breathe underwater. Just like we can’t live on this world without the breath of God in us. We need it, otherwise the pressure… Think of scuba divers. They can’t stay down there too long because that pressure becomes too much. They have to come back up to the surface. They have to regulate their bodies. It’s not made to be down there for a long time without oxygen.

We have to stay connected with Heaven…

And I just feel like that’s us, right? We’re foreigners here. We’re in this world, but we’re not of this world. So think of it like we’re scuba diving and we have to have that life supply of the breath of God. That’s prayer. We have to surface sometimes. What’s that? Being seated with Him in heavenly places. And remember where we come from, who we are. We’re not made to be on this world alone and to be a part of this atmosphere. We’re made to be seated with Him in heavenly places and breathe His breath and to live the life that He wants us to lead. Amen? So let’s do that. Let’s just take a minute.

Prayed…

We just bow our hearts now, Father.
We cast any care that we’ve been carrying.
Forgive us, Father. We don’t always see it as a sin or a selfish thing.
It just kind of comes naturally to us as humans to worry about things, to want to control things.
But we know that you care for us, and you say, “Cast your cares for you care for us.”
And so now we repent if there’s things that we’ve worried about more than we’ve worshiped about.
More than we’ve prayed about.
More than we’ve trusted you with.
And we say you can have it, Father.
Because we know when something’s in our hands, we’re very limited with what we can do in the natural.
But when we release it into your hands, the hands of a supernatural, ever-living God, the Creator of the universe, you can turn things around in an instant.
Perfect love casts out fear.
When we understand how loved we are, how much you love us, and we give that love back to you, Father.
That’s what casts out the fear.
Because we know you’re a good Father and you’re going to take care of us, so why would we fear?
We have nothing to fear.
If you’re for us, who could be against us?

I’m Heather Sibinski and I’m one of the pastors here at Living Word. Have a blessed day.
