Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today

Pastor Ken…

Good morning, everyone. Happy Tuesday. Good to see you guys. My name is Ken and I’m one of the pastors here at Living Word.

I will make you to be a new, sharp, threshing instrument…

As I was praying and worshiping and meditating last night, I sensed something in my heart. And I wanted to kind of articulate it a little bit. It kind of goes along with what we’ve been doing already here. But to give it some context, maybe I’ll just read a passage from Isaiah chapter 41. Let me start at verse 14. It says, “Fear not, you worm Jacob, You men of Israel! I will help you,” says the Lord and your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.”

So maybe that’s a word for somebody right there. “Fear not” right? Don’t let your heart be troubled. “I will help you, says the Lord and your redeemer, the holy one of Israel.” Verse 15 says, “Behold I will make you to be a new, sharp, threshing instrument which has teeth. You shall thresh the mountains and beat them small and shall make the hills like chaff.”

Jack Hayford influence…

I was reminded of something Jack Hayford said many years ago. He was speaking to his vineyard community of churches. And he was part of the Charismatic Movement. I’ve heard Pastor Mac say he really respected and learned a lot and listened a lot to Jack Hayford. And I actually went to his church in Van Nuys many years ago when I lived out there for a time. But he was one of the great leaders of the Charismatic Movement and toward the end of his pastoring and even life, he gave a strong word. And it’s not much different than what Brother Hagin actually said in some ways to his church and churches all over the nation and world that he reminded them that God always intended that Pentecost, that this move of the Spirit, this valuing of the Holy Spirit and His empowerment and His heavenly flow to equip us and enable us to do what we can’t do. That that was always meant to be the cutting edge for the church.

Contend for the move of the Spirit…

That’s something I’ve heard here for decades as I’ve been a part of Living Word. And perhaps you have as well. Even before the end of Brother Hagin’s life, he warned us and said, “Be sure to contend for this move of the Spirit, for the Holy Spirit and His ministry and His presence and that flow of heaven…” Don’t just “mail it in” from here on out and just do ministry and do your spiritual journey as you have and what you’ve learned up until now. No, continue to live by faith and not by sight, by believing and not by seeing, as the New Living Translation says.

Meaning there must be a dependence and a trust in our daily lives and leadership and what we do. Trusting Him every day because every day He’s got a different plan. He never intended that we would just do it according to tradition. Do life, do ministry, do preaching, do praying, do worship, make a decision, but instead that we would be a people who wade into the waters and the rivers of God, the Holy Spirit. Yes, the Word is to be in its important place. The Word and the Spirit are to come together in this hour.

Jack Hayford quote…

Jack Hayford said, “Either we’re going to choose to live in the river of God’s power and supernatural ability, or we’re just going to know about a map that shows where the river of Pentecost once was.” So this requires us to contend and to value and to daily get up with a sense of urgency and intentionality that I’m going to follow God. I’m going to lay down my life and I’m going to pick up my cross and I’m going to follow Him. I’m going to trust Him. Yes, I’ve learned some things and yes, we have an intellect and yes, we should use it at times, but first and foremost, in our leadership, in our praying, in our everyday going around doing what we do life, God is saying “be aware that I’m going to require you to live by faith more than ever.”

The sons of Issachar…

That’s why I was thinking of the passage in 1st Chronicles 12:32, where it talks about the sons of Issachar. They were discerning and aware of the time and the season, and they valued silence and solitude. They valued times of what we would say today, “praying in the Spirit.” Because prayer in the spirit helps to disentangle you from the cares of this world, I find. Sometimes you have to pray a while in the spirit, and it deals with distractions and it quiets your soul. And when you sense you’re done praying in the spirit, there are moments where you can just pause and…

The voice of the Holy Spirit…

In fact, Pastor Mac was talking about that this weekend, I believe. He had mentioned that. And you can hear His voice. And you can sense His prompting or maybe just the thought comes to you, I think much of the time. Brother Hagin used to teach it’s just an impression. Very seldom do you hear the audible voice and even the spiritual “inside” voice. It’s usually just an impression. But He’s there leading, instructing, guiding, mentoring. We’re going to need that.

Wade in and live in the river…

He’s showing us the way to wade in and live in the river, even in heaven. Jesse Duplantis said years ago in his God encounter, in the heavenly realm, he talked about how people had to go to the river. And they would literally go into the river and the river would prepare them and the river would change them and the river would give them strength so that they could continue their journey to the throne. Because not everybody can just walk up to the throne. It’s a holy place. Your thought of God is much smaller than the reality of who He is. He’s far greater, far more magnificent, far more awesome than your cranial cavity could ever handle. That’s a good thing! Because that’s who we serve.

Be willing to say “yes” to Him every day…

So I just want to challenge you with that this morning. Pastor Lynne, Pastor Mac, through the years have taught that. That’s been the difference maker, the game changer, the thing that has set us apart as a ministry, that has set us apart as a people is the marking of the Holy Spirit, the presence, and us willing to say “yes” each day, even moment by moment, say “yes” to Him. I will do that. I will follow you. Even if it doesn’t make sense at times.

The dinner bell that draws…

But you know that peace is there to step out by faith, lay hands on the sick. God’s wanting to do some supernatural works. We are in the hour where He wants to put on a show. And that’s what’s going to transform our areas of ministry and our churches and our nation. That’s what’s going to be, as Pastor Lynne has said, the “dinner bell” that draws those who need to come to know Jesus… the masses that He wants us to be a part of reaping. That’s why He wants to make us a new, sharp threshing instrument that we would reap the precious fruit of the earth… a.k.a. the souls, the whitened wheat that is ready for harvest.

Notes from Pastor Ken’s journal…

Let me read a couple of things really quick. I was just flipping through my journal. This goes back almost a year now. And I’ve read this over the years, but I came across a couple of things that I wanted to read really quick. This is found in the John G Lake book that’s published by Kenneth Copeland Ministry, KCM publishing. It’s John Lake’s account of an angel visitation and what the angel said to him.

John G. Lake’s encounter with an angel…

John Lake said, “My heart cried out, ‘Angel, what constitutes real Pentecost? What should drive us as God’s will in this movement?’ The angel grabbed his Bible and turned to the book of Acts and pointed to the second chapter when God’s Spirit descended. He stressed that this Pentecost with its stunning events reflects God’s intention.”

And you better believe that’s His intention today. Don’t you be listening to some Instagram reel that we’re supposed to be cessationists. No, that’s not what we grew up in. That’s not what changed my life. A cessationist, meaning God’s not doing anything supernatural anymore. No, no… He’s pressing down on the accelerator of the supernatural in this hour. He said it reflects God’s intention through Jesus’ heart. Strive for this, the angel said to Lake. He urged, “Contend,” or fight for this. “Teach the people to pray for this. It’s the answer for our hearts and the only way to defeat darkness.” As the angel left, he emphasized, pray, pray, pray. Teach the people to pray. Prayer and prayer alone, much prayer, persistent prayer is the door of entrance into the heart of God.

Quote from book, “The Master Is Calling…”

And I was flipping through my The Master Is Calling book… If you’ve never read The Master Is Calling by Pastor Lynne, I urge you to get a copy. If you’ve read it, go back. There’s some foundational things we need to keep stirred up in our hearts in regards to our relationship with God and prayer.

But she said “Prayer is the deciding factor for everything. There’s no higher priority than intimacy with God.” Amen.

Prophetic word…

I made note that this was a prophecy from one weekend in the last year or so from Pastor Mac who said this evidently. He said, “We must persevere in prayer during this next season. So many lives and so much is at stake. The plan of God for our families, states, and nations hangs in the balance. And we have the opportunity to tip the balance in the direction of divine justice. Life and the plan of God.

Ken’s notes…

Let me read this. This is me. I had noted “We must take our God-appointed positions and represent the heart of God in our world. We must be found occupying until Jesus returns. Don’t lose sight of your assignment.

And what I said earlier, one of the assignments I believe on this church and upon us is to live with an edge of the move of the Spirit. An edge of prayer.

So don’t lose your sight of your assignment, both spiritually and naturally. The seriousness and urgency of our cause has escalated and the enemy is playing for keeps. So don’t loosen your grip on your God-given responsibility to exercise your spiritual authority. Pray until God breaks through enemy strongholds and His glory covers the earth like the waters cover the sea. The Father is counting on us. The church to ask, to seek, and to knock, and persist in doing so. He will work to perform what you and I, the church, take a stand for.

It’s time to step up…

So step up and be accounted for in the rank and file of God’s army. This is our time to make a way with our prayers for the knowledge of God to fill the earth, to push back darkness, and prepare the earth for the imminent return of triumphant King Jesus.

Prayed…

And so, Father, we thank you this morning that we are privileged to be here in this hour, to be a part of this great church and ministry. We thank you, Father, that you saw fit to birth us into the earth in this time. We don’t take that lightly. In fact, we pray that the gift and calling of God on the inside of us to pray and to do so many other things in the work of God would be stirred up in us today. Lord, we pray and we agree that fire would be kindled in us, to contend for the moving of the Spirit, to contend for the work of God in us and through us.
