Morning Chapel Prayer Today
Pastor Ken…
Good morning, everyone. Oh, happy day. If you didn’t know already, my name is Ken Olson and I’m one of the pastors here at Living Word. And great to see y’all. Welcome.
Jesus is the unending resource and supply…
I thought I would start off by reading a couple of scriptures/confessions or prayers, and maybe just agree with me on these for yourself, for your household. There is a fresh supply available for us today in Jesus. He is the unending resource and supply that we must and need to draw upon every day. Today’s a new day. His grace and His mercy are new today. This morning! And so I’m in agreement with you that you will receive a fresh overflow of heaven into your heart, into your situations, into your strong stance of faith for whatever promise you’re believing for, whatever situation you desire to see changed. God is at work behind the scenes. Make no mistake about it. Prayer and our relationship with God is the most relevant thing in all the world, still in this day and hour.
Praying the Pauline Prayers…
There’s a couple of Pauline Prayers and we’ll just kind of declare these, or I’ll just read them out, just agree with them and just kind of hear the words and have an expectancy that as we declare them, as we pray them, it’s releasing the hand of God, the resources of God, once again, into your life, into your situations.
Philippians 4:6–7 says…
“I do not fret nor have any anxiety about anything. But in every circumstance and in every prayer and petition, I continue with thanksgiving to make my wants known unto you, God. Father, I pray for peace for these, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation in Christ, that peace which transcends all understanding. It shall garrison…” In other words, it will mount up and “it’ll surround us and mount guard over our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
Hallelujah. I love that. So receive peace this morning; absorb and receive His supernatural peace.
Philippians 1:2–6 says…
“Grace, favor and blessing and heart peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I speak to each one of these precious ones I am standing in the gap for. I thank God I remember them in prayer.”
Are there people you need to remember in prayer this morning? Then just speak forth their names. Just whisper their names. That’s a prayer in God’s eyes.
“In every prayer I pray and every entreaty and petition I make for them is with joy and delight. I thank you, Lord, for their fellowship, cooperation, and contributions, and partnership in advancing the Gospel. I’m convinced and sure of this very thing that you, Lord, who began a good work in them will continue.”
One translation says, “Will bring it to a flourishing finish… That good work He’s begun in you and me… that good work He’s begun at Living Word in this house, He will continue it.
There’s no shadow of turning with God…
There’s no hesitation in the mindset of God. There’s no shadow of turning. There’s no reservation from God’s perspective. No. His foot is on the pedal of His plan for your life and for mine. Our decision must be, “Lord. I agree with that plan. I’m going to go with that plan. I stand on your promises, every last one of them that you will continue them and bring them to a fullness in my life. Your plan to prosper, your plan to heal, your plan to use our lives to glorify your name, to do something good in the earth.” Remember…
Jesus came to do good…
to defeat darkness…
overcome darkness…
to shame darkness by doing good
The Bible goes on to say…
that He “healed all who were oppressed of the devil.” Hint, hint… That’s our calling as a church, as individuals to do good, to glorify His name
through our prayers
through our faithfulness
through our follow through on what He prompts us to do today.
Even the little things, it’s making a difference. It’s creating the reality of God’s purpose in the earth as we follow and obey Him.
This prayer goes on to say…
“He’ll bring it to a flourishing finish until the day of Jesus Christ, right up to the time of His return, developing that good work and perfecting…” or you could say maturing “…and bringing it that good work He’s begun in you…” that good work He’s begun in Living Word “to full completion in Christ.”
Colossians 1:12 says…
“I give you thanks, heavenly Father, who has qualified and made us…” or you could say made me fit “to share the portion which is the inheritance of the saints in light.”
Thank you, Father, for delivering us. You can just say that over your situation right now…
Over that malfunctioning in your body
Over that financial challenge
Over the unknown and the decision you need to make
Just declare, “Lord, thank you for delivering me.” He’s able to deliver you. In other words, give you a solution. Grant you the energy and strength to go another day today, even though nothing has changed. Because He’s in the process of delivering you. He has sent the answer.
Prayed…
So, Father, we thank you that you’ve delivered us and you are drawing us out of the control and dominion of darkness. And you are transferring us into the kingdom of the Son of your love, in whom we all have redemption through His blood, which means the forgiveness of our sins.
Take advantage of the blood…
Aren’t you glad for the blood? I said this yesterday, but don’t get caught up in what you messed up in and where you made a mistake and where you didn’t do the right thing. Take advantage of the blood. Don’t engage in works or in some form of penance, or “I need to beat myself up” or feel bad for a season before I can get right with God. No. In the moment you realize it, engage in spiritual warfare.
What’s that?
Repentance! Making much of the blood of Jesus, letting that blood cleanse you. Confess it. Call it out, whatever it is quickly so that you can keep moving forward. His blood is our empowerment.
He made a way for us to not get hung up even on ourselves. He made a way so that we could find a new identity and celebrate the fact that Jesus already dotted all the i’s and crossed all the t’s and made a way forward despite our mess ups and mistakes.
There’s an abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness the Bible reveals, that is set to the credit of yours and my account. Let’s identify with that. Let’s stir ourselves up in the remembrance of that today. You are fully qualified because of the blood. You are forgiven completely: past, present, and future. You are entirely pleasing to Him, fully loved.
God has made His mind up to bless you.
He’s made His mind up to fulfill His plan in you and through you.
He’s made His mind up that you would walk out the fullness of His agenda for your life—the fullness of His promises and His goodness and His resource.
Colossians 1:12–14 goes on to say…
“In whom we have redemption through His blood, which means the forgiveness of our sins.” Just that alone.
Prayed…
Lord, we just thank you for forgiveness. We thank you for the ongoing and active work of redemption that cleanses us and keeps us right in your sight. Thank you, Lord, that we are robed in your righteousness… that we’ve been appointed as sons and daughters of the King of Kings.
We thank you, Lord, for a new position we find ourselves in, not a position of failure or past sins or present regrets. We find ourselves positioned jointly with you, Jesus, today! Seated with you jointly in the heavenly realm from a spiritual standpoint.
Father, help us to lay down our unbelief. Help us to let go of our way. Help us to relinquish and release those regrets and those things that we continue to struggle with and choose to marinate in and think on.
Lord, we pray for a full release today of every stronghold of the enemy. We hold the blood up and we decree the blood of Jesus is applied to our hearts, to our lives, to this church we call Living Word, to our households and families and spouses, and coworkers, and children and grandchildren. We announce the blood of Jesus be applied to all of that in Jesus’ name.
We thank you, Lord, that sin no longer will have dominion over us. Lord, we declare we receive freely the generous gift of righteousness and the ability to rule and reign in life by one Jesus Christ.
Colossians 4:12 says…
“We who are servants of Jesus Christ will always strive earnestly for these in our prayers, pleading their case, that they may as persons of right character and clear conviction, stand firm and mature in spiritual growth, convinced and fully assured in everything willed by God.”
Prayed…
Lord, we just agree on that right now. Lord, may our hearts be fully convinced this morning of your will and your plan. If there’s anybody vacillating or, God forbid, thinking about backing off their walk of faith or the plan of God, we pray this morning, Lord, right now in this place may your convicting presence, Lord, bring about a change in our perspective today. May your Holy Spirit go to work in our hearts, in our church, in our congregation, in our households, in the leadership of this State of Minnesota, and this country we call America today, Lord, we lift up leaders.
We pray, Father, for an operation of God the Holy Spirit to bring clear and precise understanding concerning your will and your way and what you want.
