Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today

Worship leader Goke…

Hallelujah. Good morning and welcome to Tuesday morning prayer. Hallelujah. Are you ready to bless the Lord? Can we read a psalm together this morning?

I’ll ask you to open in your Bibles to Psalm 136, and let’s just read that together.

Psalm 136…

1 give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever.

O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever.

To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever.

To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever.

To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever.

To him that made great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever:

The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever:

The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever.

10 To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: for his mercy endureth for ever:

11 And brought out Israel from among them: for his mercy endureth for ever:

12 With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endureth for ever.

13 To him which divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy endureth for ever:

14 And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy endureth for ever:

15 But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea: for his mercy endureth for ever.

16 To him which led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy endureth for ever.

17 To him which smote great kings: for his mercy endureth for ever:

18 And slew famous kings: for his mercy endureth for ever:

19 Sihon king of the Amorites: for his mercy endureth for ever:

20 And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy endureth for ever:

21 And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy endureth for ever:

22 Even an heritage unto Israel his servant: for his mercy endureth for ever.

23 Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth for ever:

24 And hath redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy endureth for ever.

25 Who giveth food to all flesh: for his mercy endureth for ever.

26 O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Pastor Heather…

I just want to take a minute to praise. We’ll start by singing in tongues and then if that goes over into English, we will continue to praise Him. But as we were just praising Him as Brother Goke was leading, you just feel the… what do I want to say? The strength building up. You feel faith building up as you’re praising. And it says praise stills the enemy. It says He inhabits the praises of His people. And when you’re going through a storm, when you’re going through hard things, what’s that first thing that the enemy wants to take away from you?

YOUR PRAISE, YOUR SONG!

And when you’re going through something, you don’t feel like singing, you don’t feel like praising, but it’s the very thing that you need to do. And so we’re going to take some time to praise. And I just was picturing the walls of Jericho. We’re all going through some things right now, right? The enemy is trying to raise up some walls around us. He’s trying to wall off some things in our lives. But what did they do? They praised, they worshiped, they played the instruments, and they marched around, and they shouted—and those walls came down!

It’s time to find our praise…

And so it’s time for us, again, to find our praise. Find our praise! I just want to start by singing in the Spirit. Let’s start there, and I think that’s going to go into a place of praise because that’s our highest form of praise, right? Praying in the Spirit. So let’s go and let’s sing in the Spirit because it accesses, I believe, a different part of you. You have to get out of your head and get into your spirit when you’re singing in the Spirit.

[group began to sing in the spirit]

Pastor Heather…

Picture those walls down.
Sing from all your spirit.
We’re quieting the enemy.
He’s given you your song back.
Thank you that you sing songs over us.
What’s the song that He’s singing over you today?
Tune your ear now to hear the song that He’s singing.
Songs of hope, songs of a future, songs of beauty, songs of joy, songs of rejoicing.
Do not be cast down, oh my soul.
Yes, for surely we shall see His goodness.
So receive those songs now.
Songs of thanksgiving, songs of praise, songs of joy.
Restoring hope. Silencing the lies of the enemy.
Breaking chains with your praise.
He’s singing songs over you.
We return your praise. We return those songs unto you.
Thank you, Father, that you’re giving us back our song, returning our praise.
And as we praise, those chains are being broken.
The lies of the enemy are being silenced.
Praise stills the enemy.
You inhabit the praises of your people.
So we praise, we praise, we praise your holy name.
Thank you that as we praise, you are fighting our battles.
Walls are falling, chains are breaking as we praise, as we focus on you, the King of Kings.
Don’t focus on the chains. Don’t focus on the prison. Don’t focus on the walls.
No, as we praise, those prison doors open, those chains break, those walls fall.
So don’t let the enemy steal your praise.
Thank you for the gift of praise, the power, the weapon, the weapon of praise.
And we choose to praise you always.
In all weather, in all circumstances, we praise you.
We praise you, for you are forever the same. You never change.
You’re always good and always worthy of all our praise.
We thank you, Father, for chains that were broken, prison doors that were opened, walls that fell down today just as we praised you because praise is so powerful.
It’s a powerful weapon, and we remind ourselves of that today.
We thank you for this time.
As always, we give you all the honor, all the glory, and all the praise. It all belongs to you.
We pray it all in Jesus’ name. Amen and amen.
Thanks so much for joining us today. My name’s Heather Sibinski. I’m one of the pastors here at Living Word. Have a blessed day.
