Morning Prayer Summary for Thursday, June 27, 2019

Mary led group in worship…

Pastor Ray…

I feel like sometimes we’re waiting for Him to do something when He’s already done it. And it’s up to us to step out of what we were thinking and step into what we know is true. The truth of the Word.

I kept thinking about the 120 in the upper room this morning. The expectation when they were told “go to that room and wait.” Go and wait for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Did they know what that exactly meant? They only knew what to do. The Bible never says there were two or three of them that did not get filled. The fire came upon every head. Before that happened, there was a sound. I feel like their expectation… maybe we could say it like this. It wasn’t exactly that God planned on such and such a day that He would do that, but He said “go wait.” And I believe they were in such expectation, believing that it was going to happen. Don’t you think they had something to do with it? They weren’t just sitting there like a bunch of dummies. They were in “expectation” for what was about to happen.

Yesterday, I was talking to a friend and he told me about a minister that went to visit a lady with stage 4 cancer in the hospital. When he got there, the lady was in the bed an her husband was at the foot of the bed. I believe he was sitting in a chair. All of a sudden, the lady said to her husband, “There’s an angel standing right beside you.” Her husband said to his wife, “If there’s an angel here, why don’t you ask him why you’re not healed.” She said, “Okay.” She asked the angel and the angel said, “You are already healed.” You have already received. Open your heart and believe.

We met with a friend of ours last week in Florida. She’s Greek. She said in the Greek language, there is no word for faith. They don’t use faith. It’s belief. I feel like sometimes faith gets kind of… I don’t know. Generic. But belief, that’s more clear to us. If we think about what the angel said to the lady and her husband, “You are healed.” He’s already done what He needed to do for you and for us to be healed. He did it. Jesus is not going back on the cross. He already did the work. What did He say on the cross?

“It is finished.”

We’re blessed. We’re so supernaturally blessed. And God is so good. Before I came in here I was listening to a song about His goodness. The lady that was singing it said, “I just can’t stop thinking about it. How good He is. I can’t stop thinking about it.” We need to continually remind ourselves of how good He is. He’s in us. He did everything He needed to do for us. And let’s not ask Him to do something He’s already done. But we open up our hearts for it.

I read this from 1st John 3:18–24 in the Message. It really got my attention. Let’s say you made a mistake or did something and the Devil is pounding you over the head for it, bringing condemnation. I love what The Message translation says about it.

18-20 My dear children…

That’s us.

let’s not just talk about love; let’s practice real love. This is the only way we’ll know we’re living truly, living in God’s reality. It’s also the way to shut down debilitating self-criticism…

Have you ever had that? The Devil loves to do that. Get you to self-criticize. He likes to have us say, “I can’t measure up.” That’s right. You can’t. But He will through you. Right? This is how it says it.

It’s also the way to shut down debilitating self-criticism even when there is something to it. For God is greater than our worried hearts and knows more about us than we do ourselves.

Amen? He knows more about us than we know about ourselves. He has the plan. He created us.

21-24 And friends, once that’s taken care of and we’re no longer accusing or condemning ourselves…

What happens then?

…we’re bold and free before God!

That’s what that tries to do, to take away our boldness. Take away our courage. “I can’t do that!” But we’re strong in Him, right? So if that ever comes up, know that He already took it for us. The power of His Spirit is working through us. We’re free. We’re free to be bold. We’re free to declare. Here’s the way it says it.

We’re able to stretch our hands out and receive what we asked for because we’re doing what he said, doing what pleases him. Again, this is God’s command: to believe in his personally named Son, Jesus Christ. He told us to love each other, in line with the original command. As we keep his commands, we live deeply and surely in him, and he lives in us. And this is how we experience his deep and abiding presence in us: by the Spirit he gave us.

That’s why we keep opening ourselves up more to Him. This is how we experience it. We walk in love. Different translations of 1st John 3, I mean, there’s a lot of different things that it says how we’re to live. But I just like this last part that we don’t just talk about it but we actually really do it. And when we catch ourselves not doing it, speak to yourself. “Hello, Self! What are you saying?” Walk in love. Practice it. When we do that… let’s say Mary has a need. She stays in here afterward with a need. I have something that I can meet that need with, meaning I have the power of the Holy Spirit working through me. She tells me what she needs and I say, “That’s fine. Just trust Him… Whatever. Bye. I gotta go.” That is not walking in love, right? But I can do what I should do and bring the power of the Holy Spirit to her. I’m going to do that right now.

Pastor Ray continues sharing…

Have you ever gotten so out of your mind and you forgot where you were when you’re in His presence? That’s how far we can go. Out. Is there anything that is coming against you that needs to go? Let it go! By the power of the Holy Spirit, right now, and out over the Internet too, see yourself letting go of that, that has been trying to harass you, that, that’s been trying to come against you. And see yourself the way He sees you, which is absolutely, totally FREE! So I declare it this morning “freedom, freedom, freedom.” Victory over every plan of the enemy in Jesus’ name! I see it. This is how I see it. Let it go and watch it go right out the back door. Out of this building and away. FOREVER! Free! Free! Freedom! Carefree.

I want to read you this. It’s by John G. Lake concerning prayer.

God’s purposes come to pass when your heart and mine get the real God-cry, and the real God-prayer comes into our spirit, and the real God-yearning gets hold of our nature. Something is going to happen then.

No difference what it may be your soul is coveting or desiring, if it becomes in your life the supreme cry, not the secondary matter, or the third, or the fourth, or fifth or tenth, but the FIRST thing, the supreme desire of your soul, the paramount issue, all the powers and energies of your spirit, or your soul, of your body are reaching out and crying to God for the answer, it is going to come, it is going to come, it is going to come!

Let’s see ourselves stepping into his room and believe the revelation that, that angel spoke to the lady in the hospital bed will be not only his revelation but it will be his parents and grandparents, all those that have been there day after day. Father, we lift up our President. We pray over President Trump and those that are around him. His family, those that are speaking words to him. Lord we pray over those words, that they too would be believing words. No doubt. No fear. But it would all work out. So we pray from shore to shore… In our hearts, Lord, we see it. We see it. Signs. Churches rising up and taking their places.
