Hello, everyone. Happy Wednesday already. We are cruising through the year of 2026, aren’t we? My goodness. Things are happening fast and going by quick. But we’re present here this morning, and we’re going to pray. Can we do that today?
Announcement…
I want to give you a heads-up that probably starting next week, we will be streaming live. We’ll have prayer Monday through Friday in the chapel, but starting next week probably, we’ll be streaming only Monday through Thursday. So just to give you a heads-up. So that’ll be one minor change starting probably next week. But we’ll still be live in the chapel Monday through Friday, but just only streaming Monday through Thursday.
And I have one other change to announce, but I’ll wait till next week when I have some more details regarding how we’re going to be streaming morning prayer. So heads-up, I’ll be sharing more information about that soon.
Brother Hagin prophecy…
Today, I wanted to exhort and impart a couple of things to you. I thought I would start with a quick prophecy, which I probably have read before. This goes back a number of years. Brother Kenneth Hagin gave this under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
He said a number of years ago now…
“The word of the Lord came unto me saying, ‘Some would say our church is a singing church. Others would say our church is a Word church. Some have said our church is a power church. But yes, says the Lord, I’m seeking for a praying church. I’m seeking for those who will wait upon Me. For you can never sing like you ought to sing until you have waited upon Me, says the Lord of Hosts. For you can never praise like you should praise, for you can never really walk in faith to the extent that you should walk in faith until you have waited, until prayer is as much a part of your being as breathing is of your physical man. You can never really enjoy the fullness of the Word, and the power will never be in full manifestation until you become known as a praying church.’”
Ken commentary…
Jesus said, “This house shall be a house of prayer.” So that’s why we’re here.
I love this. I jotted this down the other day: “The more you pray and talk to God, the more you will enter into the new and living way that causes your spirit, your soul, and your body to come to life.”
Luke 18:1…
Now, let me read a passage of scripture to you; one of my favorite verses on prayer found in Luke 18:1, from the King James. And speaking of Jesus, “And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray and not to faint. Saying, there was in a city a judge who feared not God, neither regarded man. And there was a widow in that city, and she came unto him saying, ‘Avenge me of mine adversary.’ And he would not for a while,” the unjust judge that is. “But after a while, he said within himself,” the unjust judge that is, the guy who didn’t fear God, “ ‘Though I fear not God, nor regard man, yet because this widow,’ [this little woman in other words] “ ‘troubleth me,’” Because of her persistence, because of her tenacity, because of her will to not give up and see justice in her situation. ‘Because she troubleth me, I will,’ the unjust judge says, ‘avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’
In other words, he was concerned that she was going to freak out and one translation says, “Rail upon me.” He was a little scared of her because of her tenacity and her, really, spirit of faith and being on the offense in her request.
“‘I will avenge her lest by her continual coming she weary me.’ And the Lord said, ‘Hear what the unjust judge says. And shall not God avenge His own elect which cry day and night unto Him? Though he bear long with them, I tell you that he will avenge them speedily.’ He will answer you speedily. “Nevertheless, when the Son of Man cometh,” when he returns, in other words, “shall he find faith on the earth?”
Jesus asked, “Will I find faith when I return…”
And I always meditate and translate this little passage into what He’s really saying. What he’s really saying is when Jesus returns, will he find… It says, “faith on the earth,” but if we read it in context, He’s saying: “Will I find faith being expressed in the prayers of My people?” Will there be prayer being offered from the church, from the hearts of you and me upon the return of Jesus? That’s what He’ll be looking for. So that’s something He covets, something He desires, something He wants to see in and through our lives and the life of the church.
Excerpt from book, “Prayer That Brings Revival” by Dr. Yonggi Cho…
Now, let me read one other thing to you this morning. This comes from Dr. Yonggi Cho’s book, “Prayer That Brings Revival.” He says this in a chapter entitled “What Prayer Accomplishes.” In fact, let me back up here. He says, “Yet God gave authority to man. Man lost his authority in the fall through the sin of Adam. Even so, God has not been without a witness in the world. His people have been able to exercise authority in prayer, in intercession. When Christ came, He allowed the world to judge and crucify Him. Yet through His sinless life, atoning death on the cross, and glorious resurrection, Christ took the keys of death and the grave and received all authority.”
Pastor Ken says…
And we could put that in quotes because that’s what He said in Matthew 28:18. And on the basis of that, of the fact that Christ has won all authority in heaven and on earth, we are therefore commanded “to go into all the world and make disciples…” And “disciple nations” actually is what he says, “in the kingdom of God.”
“Our problem has been that we have thought about prayer, read about prayer, even received teaching regarding prayer, but we have just not prayed.”
Ouch. But a good, good reminder, right?
“Now is the time to understand that prayer is the source of power.”
Pastor Ken asked…
Anybody ever prayed so much or worshiped so much, because worship is a form of prayer, where you began to feel the power of God pulsating in your being? I have. Where you feel your body just start to buzz because the power of God is manifesting. That’s available to us at any given moment on any day. The potential of electricity and that electrical power has always been in the world. God created all things at the very beginning.
I think Andrew Wommack reminded us of that this last weekend? That everything that was created at the very beginning, even though there were very few people on the earth at the time, He created enough to sustain the world where it’s at today with whatever it is, six, seven, eight billion people. And we’re still pulling petroleum out of the ground. We’re still mining minerals. We’re still growing crops. The earth is still providing abundance for whatever it is, eight-plus billion people. The potential has always been there, and there’s more there to support more of humanity.
It took a revelation of God…
The potential of electricity has always been there, but it took a revelation from God in the heart of an individual. Maybe Benjamin Franklin was a part of that when he sent up that iconic kite long ago and realized that there was a charge in the clouds. I’m here to say that the potential of God’s power is available whether we tap into it or not. There’s exceeding great power usward or toward those who will believe. Amen?
Faith must be expressed in the heart and mouth…
And belief must be of the heart, but it must be of the mouth too. The Apostle Paul said that faith must be in your heart, and it must be in your mouth. That is the word of faith, which we preach. And there’s something about opening up your mouth in gratitude. There’s something about opening up your mouth in articulating and confessing the promise of God in prayer, in the Spirit for that matter, that will cause you to withdraw from heaven’s resources. Place the demand on the power of God so that it not only gives you a buzz in your body or cause you to have goose pimples on your arms but begin to go to work to bring healing to your body and wisdom to your mindset as you go into that meeting later today or make a decision regarding the direction of your life in the days ahead. There’s exceeding great power, exceeding great strategy, exceeding great wisdom to set you up to succeed, to set the church up to succeed in this hour.
The question is, “Will we do it God’s way and draw on that abundant, unending resource in the way that we need it through prayer?”
Dr. Yonggi Cho says…
“But we have just not prayed. Now is the time to understand that prayer is the source of power. Now is the time to allow the Holy Spirit to bring a new brokenness and surrender.”
Somebody once said, I believe it was E.M. Bounds, that prayerlessness is the height of all pride. In other words, when we’re prayerless, that reveals…
We’re trusting in ourselves.
We’re trusting in the world’s way.
We’re looking to ourselves.
Looking upon Jesus is the solution…
Psychologists tell us that to be self-obsessed and focused on you in an unhealthy way is to inflict yourself with pain. But to look on Christ, to look on Jesus, somebody once said, I believe it was C.S. Lewis, is the solution to 10,000 temporal problems. We weren’t created to worship ourselves, to worship anything of this world. We were created to worship the one and only true and living God. Amen? And it’s in seeing Him in His Word and in His presence that problems are solved, that answers flow, that we are renewed in our soul, for that matter.
Jesus is the forerunner…
The Bible records that when we look intently and persistently into the perfect law of liberty, we are changed. We are transformed. We have eyes so that we might see, not as we have been or not what is, but that we might see who He is and discover that’s who we’re to be, what we see in Him. Hint, hint… Jesus is a forerunner. Jesus gave us a template. Jesus is a forerunner in that He demonstrated what we could be and walk in. He had to be anointed. He had to connect with and allow the power of God to flow in His life to do what He did. And so do we.
And so I sense the call of the Spirit telling the church, telling us, to turn from our self-obsessions and being captivated with the world’s ways and turn to the ancient ways, the ways of prayer. Amen? The ways of Jesus that will lead to His purpose, His abundance, and His power.
Let me finish here. Dr. Cho goes on to say…
“Now is the time to learn how to use our spiritual authority in learning how to hinder the work of the Devil. Now is the time to pray.” Remember, we just quoted Luke 18:1. It says, “Men or women ought always to pray.” Not grow weary, not lose heart, not wave the white flag, not hang out in the realm of status quo-ness or same old, same old. But now is the time, as I’ve been saying, to press down in your life on that accelerator. The accelerator’s in front of you. It’s right there. Press down on that accelerator of prayer and watch what God won’t do in your own soul, in your own outlook on life, in your own family.
Now let me read an excerpt here from Dr. Cho’s book where he talks about our personal response to prayer and then we’re going to pray.
He says…
“Prayer creates personal change in your life. Nothing you can do will benefit you more than prayer.”
Oh, that would be a good place to say “amen.” Come on now! Glory to God. I’m going to preach myself happy this morning, okay? Blessed be the Lord.
This is the hour God has called us to shine, called us to put His glory, His goodness, His miraculousness on display. Yes, in our lives individually, but for the world to see. Amen? This is the hour of glory. That’s what we’re praying about.
So really what God’s trying to do is get us into a position where He can demonstrate some things in your body, in your mind, in your family, in your marriage, in your finances, in your church, in your city. But…
He’s waiting to be wanted and…
He’s waiting to be called upon and…
He’s waiting to be partnered with…
The partnership has been extended.
The offer has been delivered.
The invitation is there in every one of our lives on a daily basis to join ourselves with Him.
Jesus wants us to join our lives with His…
I always remember Jesus said to His disciples, “Will you not join your life with mine? Will you not yoke yourself with me?” It means yoke up, join up with Him. Learn how He does it. Study how Jesus did it. Prayer was a key and a very integral part of everything He did. It looked easy when you look at His life. It looked easy when He made the decision who His disciples were going to be. It was easy for Him to preach epic messages without a microphone by the Sea of Galilee to thousands of people. It was easy to call forth Lazarus from the tomb. It was easy to tell Peter, “Go fishing, guys. The tax money’s in a fish.”
Why was this so easy?
Because He spent much time alone with His Father, who knew all things, possessed all things, prepared all things, had already orchestrated before Jesus knew He had a decision to make. Jesus just leaned into His Father’s arms, leaned into his Father’s wisdom and plan and drew from that, and organically, what transpired and unfolded was the glory of God in Galilee, in hearts and lives, and even to this very day. Because Jesus did it with His Father, we’re to do it with Him. Life, that is.
So Dr. Cho says…
“Nothing you can do will benefit you more than prayer. Through prayer, you can create an account balance in your favor in God’s spiritual bank. Through prayer, you will benefit spiritually, mentally, and physically.”
