Prayer leader Jeannie…
Welcome to corporate prayer. Once again, I have the opportunity, the massive privilege and honor—and I’m not Christianese-ing this, I mean it—to be with the most powerful people on the planet! And that would be the people here in the chapel.
Thank you, Father, for today. Because now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things we have not seen. However, the things that we are seeing, the mystery of faith, that we call things that are not as though they were, because we’re not just up here to scratch an ethereal itch, to do the Middle Eastern religion whatever. No. We’re here to get results! Because Jesus finished it.
Just consider again…
He didn’t have that piece of cloth here that we so eloquently love to do, place Him when He’s on a crucifix. And by the way, He’s not on the cross anymore, so those crucifixes just about make me crazy. Because it’s a lie! He’s not on the cross! And that thing that was on His waist, that’s not Bible either.
Do you know that’s not Bible?
He was completely naked. Completely. He laid it all out there for you and for me. And He didn’t even look like a man. So that image that Pastor Jim puts up, even though it’s quite graphic, it’s not anything like the real deal.
It’s finished…
And in the middle of that, He called it finished.
Just dwell on that for a minute here. Let’s just pray into that right now. In the middle of raw, looks like it’s completely over, beaten up beyond recognition, the dreams He put in your heart, the words He has proclaimed, when it looks like they’re beaten up and beyond recognition, with nothing to hide how beat up and beyond recognition they are, the Gospel, which is Jesus, calls it finished!
Prayed it is finished…
Let’s pray into that just for a minute here. We watch over. It is finished. We just watch over.
We hover over. It is finished. It is finished. It’s finished. It’s finished.
It’s done to perfection, to perfection.
Every detail, every strategy, every day, every moment, every minute, every hour. Finished. Finito. Done.
Let that sink into your soul…
The finished work of the most high God. Jesus is not and never was and never will be a just sayer. Not one insincere word came out of His mouth. He was never fake. Okay, just for a minute here, think about that. Not one time was He a fake-o. Not one time was He insincere. Everything always was and always will be absolutely intentional. And not just intentional regarding motivation, but regarding “it is finished.”
It’s not a bumper sticker.
It’s not a T-shirt.
It is kingdom reality.
The calling we walk in. It is finished.
He confronted here on the earth things that were delayed, people that were in dismay. And He finished it. Man rightly related to God spoke and finished it. The Word says that there is no condemnation because you’re in Jesus, because you are man, rightly related to God.
Religion is the most evil deception…
I would propose that the most evil deception truly is religion. Because religion doesn’t get it done. There’s no results in religion. But man rightly related to God calls it finished. And things have to obey. All things that come in the name of Jesus. That would be you and me.
It is finished. It is finished. It is done. It is being performed. It’s already been won.
Praise you, Father. It’s already finished.
Excerpt from Rick Renner’s book, “Dream Thieves…”
I’m going to start with Rick Renner’s “Dream Thieves.” It’s not often the first chapter grabs me, so I just skip over the first few chapters. This one did. It grabbed me right away. It’s titled “Holding Fast.” I’m just going to read a page and a half here.
Excerpt begins…
“Many people have started out with a God-given dream and a passion to see that word from the Lord fulfilled in their lives, the one that has burned in their hearts. But the longer it took for the dream to come to pass, the less their hearts burned for it.
Finally, these people release God’s dream for their lives altogether, letting it slip out of their hearts and hands and into oblivion. Nothing is more tragic than this.”
Jesus wants you to fulfill your dreams that He’s placed in your heart…
Just a few weeks ago, I was on a walk and Jesus said to me… You know how He’ll just kind of drop stuff in your heart? And I can discern many times if it’s the Father, Holy Spirit, or Jesus, but that day it was Jesus. And what was the most poignant about it being Jesus was He was the one that was beaten into oblivion on the cross and called it finished. And He said to me, “Jeannie, if you cease to pursue what I’ve put in your heart to do, my dreams won’t come true.”
So if you cease to do what Jesus has put on your heart to do, His dreams won’t come true. We’re a living sacrifice and He’s put things in our hearts to be fulfilled. Yes, they’re fulfilled for us, but they’re kingdom dreams, kingdom plans that came from the heart of God put into His children, Him wanting to see the dreams that He put in our hearts come to pass.
People stop believing as time passes…
Many people have started out with a God-given dream, a dream that God gave you, and a passion to see that word from the Lord fulfilled in their lives, burned in their hearts. But the longer it took for the dream to come to pass, the less their hearts burned for it.
Finally, these people release God’s dream for their lives altogether, letting it slip out of their hearts and hands into oblivion. Nothing is more tragic than this. Consider that this is waste. When we release and let these things fade away, we are diminishing. Jesus calling it finished.
Did you see that?
You were born to be remarkable…
“That a person would let go of his dream, the very purpose for which he was born into this world. You were born to be remarkable. No one else in the world is just like you.”
I absolutely love that I’m reading this after Rick Renner was at our church, Mr. Bible Scholar. So you can’t tell me I’m speaking a bunch of nonsense. This is coming from Rick Renner. And the Holy Spirit is speaking through him right now to you and to me.
“Your genetic makeup belongs only to you. Your fingerprints are unlike any others in the entire world. Your blood type, your chemistry, your eye color, all of these are so unique and so special that there isn’t any other human being on the face of the earth exactly like you. No one! So when you release the thing that God has put into your heart and let it fade away and let the enemy’s plans get its way, Jesus’ dreams are not coming to pass. That is how intimately acquainted He is with you. You belong to Him. He belongs to you. I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine. That is how intimate this is to the Father.”
Let this sink in. The partnering of dreams.
Allen, could you come up here? This is Allen, favorite student in the chapel. Okay. So you are the dream, okay? That God has put in my heart. And we’re moving, right? Okay. And, give me someone else. Excuse me. Mr. Steve is coming up here. Steve is Jesus. Okay, so when I’m walking with the dream, you’re rejoicing. Because Jesus’ dreams are coming true. They’re coming to pass. The whole reason of “it is finished, the joy set before Him,” we’re giving Jesus the opportunity to experience that joy. Remember when He said, “When I return, will I find faith on the earth? Without faith, it’s impossible to please Me.” Could it be because it takes faith to hold onto the dream and for Jesus to be pleased? And pleased isn’t all, “Blah. I’m not pleased with you.” It’s a, “I’m so bummed.” Here, act bummed out. Act sad. “I’m so bummed out because my dreams for you that I placed in you aren’t coming true. The dream is just being diminished.” And Jesus… do the, “Blah.” That’s Jesus when the dream keeps doing this. I’m like, “No!” Dream!
Okay, thank you. You might come up again.
If we allow Holy Spirit to sear in our hearts Romans 8, that the earth is crying out for the sons and daughters of God to be revealed. Dream, come up here, please. Are the sons and daughters of God going to be revealed without the dream walking out? No. I’m just flesh. I’m just Jeannie. I’m just flesh. I’m not a daughter of God with a dream moving, right?
No one in the world is just like you…
“You were born to be remarkable. No one else in the world is just like you. No one. In the same way your dream, your God-given vision, your word from the Lord is also unique. Why do you think the enemy hates it so much? Why does he try to use religion to tell you just to meet a moral standard? Yes, character’s important. We must have it. But beyond character, you’re bored out of your mind because it’s about the dream. It’s about what God put in your heart. It’s about the plan. It’s about the purpose. It’s about kingdom.”
Kingdom people have purpose…
It’s one thing I love about Mac and Lynne, they are kingdom people. They’ve got purpose. They’re pursuing the dream. I love when Mac said, “You know what, God? I am not going to leave this just to the youth. I want it all.” That’s Jesus speaking through him. That’s evidence that he’s been ministered to by Holy Spirit. The sons and daughters of God to be revealed on the earth.
We are going to pray. But we’re going to get this because we’re going to pray from this place today. The corporate dreams that God has put in people’s hearts for a church, for a nation, for a city, for a school, but they all start with you as an individual.
I was not going to camp here today. But this is where we’re camping.
“In the same way, your God-given vision, your word from the Lord is also unique. God has a special plan that is for you alone and no one else.”
Dream, please stand. Okay, you’re going to get on the floor and, like, crumble. Not yet, not yet.
Okay, so God has a special plan for you and you alone, okay? Here’s God’s special plan for me and me alone. Okay, now I’m going to start to walk away, and you crumble, okay? So I’m getting disappointed, delay’s bugging me, I’m getting rejected, and as I do… Go ahead, crumble. That’s what’s happening to God’s special plan in my life.
Okay, let’s do it again. Delay, disappointment, rejection, word curses, just anything. Okay? When they caused me to walk away from the dream, this is God’s plan for my life. And then I wonder why I’m bored. It’s not because of God. It’s because… Stand up please. It’s because this is what makes me go! Oh, put your head up. Smile. This is what makes me go. I sense that already you’re starting to rise up on the inside. You’re starting to realize “That could be why I have a hard time getting going in the morning. Maybe I’m going to let Holy Spirit minister to me about my dreams.”
Not a formula…
One day I was walking, and I had just ridiculous anxiety. I was praying in the Spirit, da, da, da, and Holy Spirit comes in and goes, “Okay, if your day went exactly how you wanted it to go, how would you be praying right now and what would you be thinking?” And I went, “Hmm…” It shifted my entire day. Just my imagination starting to consider how it would exactly go. I dared to dream with God just for the day on seemingly minute events, and the first thing that came to my mind actually came to pass in a couple hours.
Now this is not a formula. I’m just saying He would have us looking up. He would have us moving forward. He would have us expecting that our authority has an effect on the earth.
Okay, I’m going to finish reading this, then we’re going to pray.
“But I’m positioning you from our position of where God has a special plan for you that is for you alone and no one else. In fact, you are so special and unique that God has had His hand on your life even before the foundation of the earth. The enemy doesn’t want you to know that. How unique, how much you matter to God, how much you matter to His plan. It says we’re the cornerstone. How much you showing up matters, how much you staying with Him matters. The greatest tragedy you could ever experience would be to let go of your God-given dream and allow the fire in your heart to go out.”
