Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today

Pastor Ken…

Word came forth to those who are anxious to turn it over to the Lord…

I just encourage you this morning, if you’re…

Anxious about something,
Struggling with fear in some way,
Found yourself upset in recent days
Are incessantly processing about a situation, a problem, your future, whatever the case is…

I want to remind you that this opportunity to pray, to worship, to just wait on Him and meditate on His goodness and His beauty and His full provision on our behalf in every way for every aspect and every season of our lives, that those spiritual but ancient, yet spiritual habits are meant to deal with our soul, at least in one way. It deals with our physicality and our health as well.

Let your heart settle down and your mind learn to rest…

But I just want to encourage you this morning to let your soul, let your heart just settle down. Let your mind learn to rest. And just know that His presence is near. His presence is right there; in fact, on the inside of you. I just want to challenge you to turn over to Him, turn over like you’re turning over evidence. Turn over whatever has been bogging you down or making you feel the way you’ve been feeling or causing you to want to make a decision in maybe the wrong direction. And just let the Spirit of God address you on the inside and minister peace, shalom peace, a settled calm, a comfort.

The Holy Spirit, after all, is the comforter. He is the standby. He is our helper. He wants us to rest and trust in Him. In our minds, in our hearts, in every aspect of our lives. So I just encourage you in that.

Depend on the Lord…

I was thinking of this recently. Somebody I know who… And I’m not knocking medication. Certainly medication has saved and changed lives when it comes to mental illness in different ways, whether it’s OCD or ADHD or fears or traumas or any sort of mental illness. It has been helpful for many people. However, I always encourage people, don’t let that be what you depend on for the rest of your life.

Learn His ancient ways and paths…

There are ancient ways. The Bible says that we’re to ask the Lord to show us His ancient ways, His ancient paths, and His ways that actually are medicine, spiritual medicine, that can replace over time whatever medicine you have to take perhaps for what you’re dealing with in your soul.

You can learn to rest and trust.
You can learn to be free from anxious thoughts.
You can learn and grow to have a steady heart, a fixed perspective on Him.

Take advantage of God’s higher ways…

It just takes our application of it, our commitment to say, “Lord, I want to do this your way.” I’m grateful that I can take advantage of something off the shelf, but God has a higher way for the situations that we face in every regard, in every aspect of our lives…

Including your mental health
Including your emotional state
Including your perspective and the things that trip you up and cause you to stay stuck in your past.

Jesus came to set us free…

Jesus came to set captives free. And in many ways, all of us have experienced being a captive. Well, God, through Jesus, has come to set us free. Even today! You never outgrow the need for the Gospel, to hear the preaching of the good news.

His truth will set you free in every regard…

Yes, we need it to receive initially the gift of salvation, but we need to hear the good news every day. And the good news is Jesus came to set the captives free, that we can know the truth, and the truth will make us free in every regard. Not just spiritually from hell so that we can enter heaven, but also in our souls, in our emotions, in our wills, in the things that harass us psychologically and even in our physicality.

The answer is inside you…

He is our all in all. The Bible says clearly He is the “all in all.” The answer’s inside of you. And His name is Jesus! Represented by the Holy Spirit. And He’s speaking to us today about the ancient ways, about the good old ways that God demonstrated for us through Jesus. And to begin with spiritual habits such as prayer.

Phil. 4:6–7

Let me read to you some scriptures to jog your memory about prayer. Philippians 4:6-7says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation by prayer and petition,” or an earnest request, “with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends…” In other words, it goes above and beyond our natural understanding, “will guard…” I think one translation says, “Will set up or mount garrison or fortress around your hearts and your minds in Christ.”

Say “yes” to peace and “no” to fear…

So just say “yes” to His peace today. And “no” to fear, “no” to insufficiency, “no” to a repeat of last year or that perennial issue or problem that you’ve dealt with. Say, “Yes, Lord, let your peace build a fortress around my heart today. I yield to peace.”

Peace—it’s a real thing…

Sometimes I put my hand on my heart because the Bible says your spirit is in your belly, and I’ll put my hand there, and that just helps me to have a point of contact to yield to the peace of God. It’s a real thing. He is the Spirit of peace. He is the Prince of Peace. Let Him saturate you, your home today, your situations today. Bring peace with you into the marketplace, in the workplace, in the boardroom, and wherever you go today.

In Mark 11:24 Jesus said…

“Therefore I tell you whatever you ask in prayer believe that you have received it and it will be yours.” Oh, come on. Doesn’t that inspire faith? Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. But faith goes when we cease to hear, or we hear something else. So we need to hear this.

1st Thessalonians 5:16-18 says…

“Rejoice always. Pray continually. Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Jeremiah 33:3 says…

“Call to me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” So in other words, there are things… God has good things, outstanding things, blessed things, things that are created to bless you, that are waiting on the other side in the realm of God’s Spirit, that are just waiting for us to call on them, to call Him for them, that we might experience them and enjoy them.

James 5:16 says…

“Pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”

Matthew 6:9-30, 6:9 says…

That’s the Lord’s Prayer.

1 John 5:14 says…

“And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” In other words, His ear is inclined toward us today as we enter prayer.

Hebrews 4:16 says…

“Let us approach God’s throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

Romans 12:2 says…

“Rejoice in hope. Be patient in tribulation. Be constant in prayer.”

Matthew 26:41 says…

“Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Psalm 145:18 states…

“The Lord is near. He’s near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.”

Prayed…

And so, Father, we just thank you this morning that we can call on you.
We thank you, Father, that your ear is inclined toward us.
