Morning Chapel Prayer Today
Pastor Ken…
Hello, everyone! It’s Tuesday the 6th of October! Wow. I’m so thankful for all of you that are here in the chapel and online this morning. Good to be with you again. My name is Ken.
Hebrews 10:19…
I thought I’d start us off by sharing a couple of things. Firstly, this verse came to mind last night as I was meditating and praying before bed. It is found in Hebrews 10:19, in the New Living Translation.
It says…
“And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s most holy place because of the blood of Jesus. By His death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the most holy place. And since we have a great high priest who rules over God’s house, let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts, fully trusting Him.”
Oh, come on now. Can we fully trust Him? I think we can.
“For our guilty consciousness has been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water. Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promises.”
Oh, can we just rewind there? If we were back in 1991 or ‘87, can we just rewind the tape right there?
“Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise.”
Somebody just needs to, like, slap yourself upside the head and remind yourself, even as you’re wiping sleep from your eyes, God can be trusted to keep His promises. Amen? So we can hold tightly without wavering to the hope, to the promise we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise.
“Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.”
Thank you, Father, we can trust you today.
A prophetic word—Victory has come!
And then, there’s this prophetic word that came. I don’t think I’ve ever shared it twice. I think I gave it a while back. But I just wanted to stir you up. This blessed me, reminding myself of this word the other day. And I thought I’d share it again with you. It’s the testimony of the Lord, I believe. And it is prophetic in that God wants to do it in you and through you and in any situation you’re facing.
The Spirit of God would say…
“You are on your way. Keep taking steps. You’re on your way. Yes, it’s a new day. Victory has come. The answer has been sent.”
Did you catch that? The answer’s been sent. You’re not here trying to convince God that He should do anything for you. The answer’s been sent.
“Stir up your heart and be receptive. Remind yourself of what the Spirit of God has said, what His Word has declared. Take hold of that. Hold firmly. Keep your grasp on the prize. ‘That would be Me,’ Jesus would say. That would be the Word.
“Yes, for it’s going to be worth it. Don’t relent… or in other words, don’t give up, don’t back off, don’t withdraw, don’t grow weary. Oh, the enemy can take his best shot, but it will fall short of what God has already sent, what He has already said to you. Not just the answer, not just the result of the dream in your heart or the healing in your body, but Jesus would say, ‘I am worth it.’ It’s going to be worth it because Jesus is worth it. He is worth it all.
“So, keep taking steps. You’re on your way. Don’t look to your right, don’t look to your left. Look straight on, onward and upward to the glory of God. For it’s shining on you today. Know that the angels have been sent to stand alongside you, assisting you, working with you and for you to fulfill all that’s been prophesied, all that’s been declared, and all that you’ve taken a strong stance for.
“So stand strong and take advantage of your heavenly supply and sustenance sent your way today. Be alert. Be present. Be understanding and reach out with the hand of faith and take hold of what’s been put before you on a platter. All that redemption has made available, brought to your feet, to your very doorstep. It’s there. Take hold of it.
“Stir up. Stir up the gift, the holy gifts of the Spirit. Don’t let them settle out in the corner of your life somewhere but stir them up. Fan them into flame. Take hold of the gift of praying in the Spirit.”
Collaboration with the Holy Spirit to pray in other tongues…
Oh, what a gift, and what’s on the other side of taking hold of the gift of tongues. Because it’s fellowship. It is collaboration with the Holy Spirit to pray in the Spirit in other tongues. It’s to collaborate with the third person of the Godhead—the Holy Spirit. Who’s been sent on your behalf to coach you, to guide you and me, to lead us every day in every moment and in every situation to victory.
The Holy Spirit is our coach…
The Holy Spirit is the spirit of victory. He is the spirit of the future. And guess what? He’s still joyful and glad, and He comes to reveal to us the future. He comes to coach us and guide us and lift us out of our past and into the presentness of His goodness. Amen?
Recognize the Holy Spirit…
Even as we go into worship this morning. Recognize His presence. Whether you’re streaming this online or in this chapel today, the Holy Spirit is mighty and gracious and good. The Holy Spirit is smiling your way today, and saying, “Will you join Me? Let’s go victory’s way. Let’s go the way of the promise. Let’s go the way of the Father’s goodness.” For I believe He’s got something to show you. The Holy Spirit has something to show you, and it isn’t dark and difficult. It won’t cause you to say, “Oh my, oh me,” but it’ll cause you to say, “Yippee.”
Open your ears to the Holy Spirit…
The Holy Spirit has something good to say to you today. Will you open your ear? Will you incline your attention toward Him? Incline means turn your ear. You got to turn your ear to the Spirit of God within you. I’ve often recorded this verse from the Old Testament. It says, “You’ll hear a voice behind you saying, ‘This is the way. Walk in it.’”
The Holy Spirit will give you the upper hand in every situation…
Doesn’t that get you excited to know that things are rigged in your behalf? Things are rigged for your benefit, your future, your today if you’ll listen to Him and obey. He is, after all, the Spirit of God, the genius of Jesus. He is the one who is able to lead you into success and blessing and fruitfulness. He is the one that is able to cause you to have the upper hand in every situation with the enemy so that you trample him under your feet.
The Bible says we’re to tread on serpents and scorpions. Last time I checked in Luke 10:19, tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy and nothing by any means shall hurt, harm, or injure us. But the Holy Spirit is integral to us trampling down on where the enemy has threatened us. The Holy Spirit is integral in us succeeding in the marketplace, in us prospering with what God puts in our hands. He’ll lead you to effective investment, effective sowing, and reaping. He’ll lead you and guide you down the path that may seem, well, not necessarily intuitive to your natural senses, but it is the way of success, and the way of blessing, and the way of protection.
The Holy Spirit will help you abide in the Secret Place…
Even when dark and difficult and tumultuous things are reported, you’ll find yourself hidden in the Secret Place. Because the Holy Spirit will take you there and help you to abide in the Secret Place. I’ve often said the key or the secret to the Christian life is found in the Secret Place with the Holy Spirit.
Stir up the gifts within you…
So stir up the gifts the Holy Spirit gifts within you. Don’t let them settle out in the corner of your life somewhere, but stir them up. Fan them into flame. Take hold of the gift of praying in the Spirit. Pray in the Spirit. Pray much in other tongues. There will be a fanning effect, a stirring effect to activate supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit.
We are integral to this great end time work…
So this I really sense is a call and an invitation of the Holy Spirit right now in this moment, in this era of history. We talk about revival. We talk about wanting to see the miraculous. We talk about America shall be saved, my household shall be saved, and all the things that God wants to do at the end or the wrapping up of this age. But as I said yesterday, we are integral. We are a part of this great end time work. And while maybe in your mind or my mind we might think, “Well, that part is to call somebody forth to life who was once dead, or to lay hands on the sick and see them recover.”
The bottom line of Christianity…
Oh, that’s part of it, make no mistake about it. But the bottom line of Christianity is it all starts with us. You can’t lead anyone else to Christ. You can’t lead, period, even your own family, without leading yourself well first. And the first way we lead ourselves, the first way we attend to the will of God, is by stirring ourselves up. And prayer fans into flame. It activates the gifts inside of you. It brings forth and brings forward the supernaturalness that is within you so that it no longer lies dormant or latent off to the side but activated in your daily life. And it’s prayer in the spirit, it’s communion with God the Holy Spirit on a daily basis, a moment-by-moment basis as you go through your day that activates that which God has deposited within you.
Every one of us has an enormous deposit, something actually of heaven that’s been placed in us. And maybe some of it has eked out, some of it has manifested through your life in times gone by. But I’m here to tell you there’s far more than you understand or I understand that has been in us. Some potential that you haven’t even seen with your mind’s eye yet. Some power that He wants to flow, not just to you, but through you in these coming days.
We must fan into flames the gift of God…
So for the greater things of God to transpire, it’s incumbent upon each and every one of us to fan into flame the gift and the potential and the fullness of the Spirit in us individually. As pray-ers!
Praying to pray…
Pastor Lynne used to call it “praying to pray.” Don’t just show up to the prayer group cold, so to speak. Invest, sow into your spirit by taking time alone, waiting in His presence, worshiping and praying in the Spirit. So when you come to the corporate prayer setting, your supply is activated. The gifts of the Spirit are brought forward. You’re sensitive and responsive to the Holy Spirit if He would have you say something or do something or offer something in the Spirit or in your understanding.
Prayer mines out, draws out, it primes the pump, so to speak, of your life. It draws up what’s within you. The Bible says a man of understanding or wisdom will draw up from the depths within them the wisdom of God. Prayer in the Spirit does that.
So it goes on to say…
“Activate supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit, the gifts of supply, power, healing, and fullness, and endowment to maximum capacity. Stir them up by letting your mouth be opened up, and there will come a filling up inside of you. Did not My Word say to speak out in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs and you would be filled?”
Question mark. Of course it did.
“Let that be so in your life, and let it be repeated. Let it be a part of your day, your week, and your year. Continue to take steps. You’re on your way. It’s in view.”
What’s in view? The promise of God. The place He’s calling you to.
“Do you not see it, what I’ve said? the Spirit of God would say, What I’ve promised? See it in your heart, then step toward it and refuse to be denied. And all that’s been prophesied and all that My Word has said will be so for you and yours in Jesus’ name.”
So let that just activate something in you this day…
Glory to God. Every time you go to praying in the spirit, every time you lift up holy hands in worship, every time you shout in the face of doubt, every time you practice spiritual habits and disciplines, you are bringing some things up and out of you, bringing them forward. And then you show up one day to prayer, or you show up one day to the office, and you’ll be surprised at the supernatural that will come through you, at the power that will flow, and heaven that will show up and move through your hands, and your feet, and your words, and your life.
