Morning Chapel Prayer Today
Pastor Ken…
Well, hello, everyone. Happy Thursday! Good to have you with us. I don’t want to assume you all know, but in case there’s somebody new joining us, my name is Ken Olson. I’m one of the pastors here at Living Word. And I’m going to be praying with you today. So glad to have you with us.
Things are happening in the world…
I’m aware of the changes that are occurring in the earth in governments right now, in our own nation. There’s a lot shifting. There’s a lot moving. There’s a lot influx right now. And it’s a reminder to me as well that the church must be about our Father’s business. And that is prayer. Because prayer is the fuel for change to occur in the direction of God’s intention. In other words, what God wants. Things would move in the right direction. Amen.
Things are happening in the east among the nations of Pakistan and India, the threat of war breaking out. Some are saying there’s signs of regime change in the nation of China, which is kind of surprising. In our own nation, there’s a lot at play right now. And it is our prayers in a united collective fashion that provide light, provide supernatural solutions, empower leaders, including our own nation’s leaders, to make the right decisions.
Jesus is our Savior, not a man…
A man or a woman in a place of leadership is not our Savior. Jesus is our Savior. The Bible says, “Look away from all that distracts unto Jesus the author…” One translation says “developer or continuer, and the finisher of our faith.” And so Jesus is our Savior to this day. No man. No woman. But God certainly will equip and use people in authority if we will pray for them. So we’re going to do that today without a doubt.
“Herald of His Coming” publication…
In fact, let’s do this maybe to start with. Let me just share with you a couple passages of scripture. Then I’m going to read something on declarations, the prayer of declaration. And we’ll pray. But this comes from the little periodical “Herald of His Coming.” You can request it for free if you want. Just Google it and you can sign up to receive a free subscription. It’s actually a little newspaper with a lot of great articles that they publish from past authors, present authors, speakers, pastors, pray-ers.
But there’s one little excerpt here, which is just a list of scriptures. And hopefully I can read it. But it’s entitled “God Is Able.” And it describes all the ways God is able and what He has stated He’s going to do. For example, God is able to save all who come unto Him. The Bible reads in Hebrew 7:25, “Wherefore he is able to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him.” By who? Jesus!
So whatever the enemy is saying doesn’t matter because God is able to save you from that financial situation. He’s able to redeem you from that hopeless relational situation. From whatever you’re facing, God is able.
The word for today: God is able!
There’s a word for today. “God is able!” And He is at work. So we’re reading these just to simply agree with them. To say what God is saying. There’s power in His Word. When you speak it out, when you inject faith into it, when you speak words of prayer, when you speak words of decree, when you just declare the Word of God, that’s a prayer!
Be conscious to inject faith into it. I’m just really big right now on the idea that God has given us a will. It’s a leverage, your will. Use your will, your chooser, to choose this day whom you will serve. To choose to inject faith and mean what you say and say what you mean. If your body’s wanting to be lazy, to say, “Okay body, this is what we’re going to do today. We’re going to lift up holy hands and we’re going to worship the Lord.”
You can smile by faith…
Whatever station of life you’re called to, you can do whatever you are called to do by faith. No matter how you feel or what’s happened in the past, we have the opportunity to go by faith today. To smile, even though maybe things aren’t all right on the inside. We can still smile by faith. We can still choose to rejoice in the Lord by faith. That creates a frequency in the spirit realm, which allows our situation, our physicality, even our own souls to experience change.
I just love the Word. It’s so far beyond our natural capabilities, our natural understanding at times. It’s supernatural technology. The ways of God’s kingdom, His Word… There’s supernatural, divine DNA woven into His Word. And when you put His Word to work with your words and with your action, and put it in your heart, then that supernatural DNA is activated. There’s an activation so that it begins to do the work of transformation.
Activation!
Oh! There’s a word right there on Thursday morning. The word of God, when we put it into activation produces transformation. The Bible’s very clear that if we’ll look intently into the perfect law of liberty, that it will produce change in our lives. The Bible is incorruptible seed. It lives and remains forever. And it will produce, God promises, His intended result.
So if today you need some hope, God’s Word has something to say about that. Today, if you need healing in your Achilles heel or in your digestive track or with the problem of migraine headaches, God’s Word has something to say about that.
There is hope in His Word…
Hope in His promises. The beauty of the Gospel is that it is a finished work. Jesus wrapped it all up, not just in His death, not just in His burial, but in His resurrection. Not just to planet earth once again where He was witnessed by many people for a period of many days. But the Bible goes on to say in the letters to the church that He ascended once again to the right hand of the throne of God, His Father. And He sat down in majesty on high in the courts of heaven, seated jointly with His Father, once again.
As one Bible scholar says…
That implies that He is done with His work for this time. And the next time He gets up is to come and to take us up with Him. But in the meantime, we’re to take that picture that Paul paints to the early church through Galatians and Ephesians and other letters like Philippians and understand that that’s an x-ray view into the work and what was really accomplished through Jesus’s earthly work, through His death, burial, and resurrection.
And as I often point out, when Paul wrote that when Christ arose and ascended to the right hand of God, we arose with Him and are seated with Him. I may be standing right here on earth, but in the spirit realm, I am seated with royalty! I’m crowned with His favor! I’ve been endowed with His righteousness and granted spiritual authority to affect change in the earth realm. And so have you!
Whose report will you believe?
So take hold of the hope in His promises and deploy it today over your life. Declare it over your situations. Talk to your body. Don’t sit and listen to those symptoms. I realize symptoms are real. I get it. And it is hard sometimes just to see straight when you’re going through pain or you’re struggling or you get a bad report. But it’s in those moments where we have to ask ourselves, whose report, as the song goes, am I going to believe? I shall believe the report of the Lord. And His report is always hopeful. And His report is always in alignment with His Word. And where healing is concerned, it says He Himself bore our sicknesses, diseases, weaknesses, and pains. And by the stripes He bore upon His back to the point where He was almost unrecognizable, you were made whole. Past tense. That means presently you were made whole.
So pull out the Word of God, pull out the hope that’s found in His promises, and use it as the supernatural technology and weapon that it is to defeat the enemy at every turn. Don’t worry about the time. Don’t worry about a flare up of symptoms or pain. You can choose to go by believing in His Word today rather than what you see or what you feel.
And if you’ll go another day, and then another day, not even conscious of the time, just knowing in your heart that your Father is faithful and that what He says is true and that what His Word says is accurate, which is that He watches over His Word to perform it. You’ll go that way, then it will just be a matter of time. Probably not even a lot of time before you’ll see change.
Shout unto God with the voice of triumph!
And if you’re seeing change today, if you’re seeing glimmers of hope, if you see some improvement in your physicality in what you’re dealing with or in your finances or in your children or in your home, well then guess what? Shout unto God with the voice of triumph! Recognize that. Celebrate that. We have so much to be hopeful for. Let’s get our eyes on Jesus. He’s the brightness and the outshining of the Father. He is the one who came and died and rose again for us. Hallelujah. We have so much to be grateful for. We have so much to celebrate. That’s one of the keys to effective prayer, by the way. Recognizing and celebrating and thanking God for what is happening.
So He goes on to say…
“Wherefore he is able to save them to the uttermost who come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”
Aren’t you glad Jesus is in the courts of heaven? He’s in the heavenly realm and He’s praying for you perpetually? Nonstop!
The Bible says He neither sleeps nor slumbers. So even while you’re sleeping, God is praying for you. Jesus is interceding. He ever lives to intercede and pray. So, wow, that’s interesting!
We’re called to pray. We’re called to follow in His priestly footsteps in the earth realm and pray as well and ever live to intercede and pray. Because that’s God’s way.
Yes, there’s natural things we have to do. And yes, we have to pay the mortgage and we have to go to work and we have to do this or that. That’s true. God’s way is that we would make our way forward in life through prayer, through intercession. And then we just follow in His footsteps. We just obey what we see in our hearts that He shows us in prayer.
God is able also to keep, “for I know whom I have believed and I am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.”
God is going to keep you. He’s going to keep your family. He’s going to keep you in the place of His choosing. He’s going to keep you in that sweet spot of fellowship. God is also able to sanctify: “Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling.” Haha!
Sometimes you just have to coach yourself…
Can I just say it’s going to be all right? Sometimes you just got to coach yourself. You just got to be your own best encourager and say, “You know what? I’m feeling really fearful. I’m feeling anxious. I’m tempted to throw in the towel or something.” But you got to say to yourself, “It’s going to be all right, Ken. It’s going to be all right.” God’s got you. He’s going to keep you from falling. He’s well able to deliver you. Even when everything begins to shake and there’s a shudder and it doesn’t look good and you feel darkness encroaching in the midst of that, you can coach yourself. You can declare the Word. You can say, “No, no, it’s going to be all right. For I’m set up to succeed.” For He ever lives to intercede and He’s praying for me in the heavenly realm and sending light and truth my way.
