Sister Jeannie…

Thank you for coming. I’m Jeannie.

His Word talks about the great and terrible day of the Lord. His word also says with His gentleness, He makes us great. And today we are going to know that this is the great day of the Lord. And we bring His greatness into the terrible.

Father, we thank you so much for the honor that we have right now to be alive right now during this time. We thank you that you are the answer and that the answer is in us. And that makes us the answer. And I thank you right now that we have ears to hear and eyes to see what your Word has to say about times like these. This isn’t the first time there’ve been times like these. Thank you for Holy Spirit urgency, Holy Spirit revelation, and Holy Spirit action items.

Quote from Dutch Sheets “Give Him 15”…

I’m going to start by reading part of and then probably finish Dutch’s “Give Him 15” from today. It’s called “A Pathway to Triumph.” So the opening scripture is from Romans 8:14. “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are sons of God.” And then Romans 8, that talks about how the earth is in travail, waiting for the sons of God to walk in their calling. Father, I thank you even today that we are walking in our callings. At an accelerated pace in a way that we know we’ve already won that race. The Holy Spirit is the greatest leader on planet earth. God’s anointed and called leaders are the most powerful force on the planet. The most true statement with eternal value I think we could ever say in this time. God’s anointed and called leaders are the most powerful force on the planet. Leaders have the opportunity if they are wise to shape the course of history and generations for good and for God’s glory. What if your consecration and courage as a leader could shape the course of history? What if God is dreaming of working with you and your partnerships with other kingdom leaders for the expansion of His dominion? He is. When you study leadership, it’s not long before you discover that some of the greatest leaders have emerged from the midst of extraordinary challenges, adversity, struggle, pain, and conflict.

Jeannie commentary…

Yes! Let’s read it again! The greatest leaders have emerged from the midst of extraordinary challenges, adversity, struggle, pain, and conflict. Great time to be a leader!

Dutch Sheets continued…

My friend, Bishop Joseph Garlington, says “Leaders are not born. They’re just cornered.” Maybe that’s why I’ve always loved Captain America since I was a boy. The key element of every notable leader is their uncommon commitment, passion, and burning heart to overcome. Their lion heart’s will find the path to triumph. It is no secret that the world is in a mess and upside down right now. Right is wrong. Wrong is right. Evil is good. Good is called evil. You could say that the world is in a famine of real leaders. Has there ever been a time when the contradictions were so glaring?

Back to Jeannie…

So as I’m reading this, a lot of times when I know I’m leading prayer, I’ll ask Holy Spirit. Sometimes He’ll tell me. Sometimes I’m looking for clues. And I love how it came together today. So I’m listing to “Give Him 15” and the part where it said, “My friend, Bishop Joseph Garlington says leaders are not born. They’re just cornered.” Well, as soon as I heard Joseph Garlington, I remembered a message. And it was Holy Spirit. I remembered a message. He was at Bill Johnson’s church in Bethel and he was singing. And he said “Tomorrow about this time, things are going to change.” So he kept singing it.

So then I went to “tomorrow about this time things are going to change.” So I love how the pieces come together. So this whole thing is about a famine in leadership. And then Bishop Joseph Garlington, Holy Spirit brings him to mind him singing about tomorrow, about this time things are going to change. And then the story I’m going to tell you about, which was a real actual thing that happened with Sumerian famine. Isn’t that awesome!

So this is in 2nd Kings 6: We are going to go over this passage and I am going to demonstrate for you leaders that were just cornered. Some leaders are leaders because they’re committed to overcome. Some leaders end up being leaders because they’re cornered. And these leaders end up being four lepers. So good news for all of you. You’ve been elected into leadership. There’s really no excuse.

2nd King 6:25, “And a great famine came to Samaria… v26 “Then, as the king of Israel was passing by on the wall, a woman cried out to him, saying, “Help, my lord, O king!” In the middle of a famine. “He said, for if he does not help you from where can I get you help? Not out of the threshing floor or out of the wine press. And the king said to her, What ails you? She answered…”

Okay now, her answer is exactly what’s going on in our culture right now. In the midst of a leadership famine. Here’s what she said. Now I’m going to ask you to not resist what she said. I’m going to ask you to let this sink in, because what I’m about to read to you is truly your assignment. But then there’s good news. We’re going to talk about how the four lepers responded to this time.

“And she said to him, This woman said to me, give me your son that we may eat him today. And we will eat my son tomorrow. So we boiled my son and ate him. The next day I said to her, Give me your son so we may eat him. But she had hidden her son.”

Okay, firstly, it’s alarming that the woman isn’t coming to the king because someone’s trying to eat her son. She’s coming to the king because she gave away her son to literally be eaten. And now this other woman’s son is nowhere to be seen. And that’s her complaint. What’s happening in our culture right now, it’s a hard, cold fact that it just seems to be okay to kill children regardless up to a year old. Let that sink in.

Why am I reading this? Because the urgency, the earth is literally crying out for you to show up.

Holy Spirit, I thank you that you burn in our hearts the deep conviction that the earth is crying out for us to show up. The deep conviction that children are at stake, that destinies are at stake. These are the times we are in. But guess what? There’s massively good news right now.

2nd Kings 7, the next chapter. “Then Elisha said, “Hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord: ‘Tomorrow about this time” things are going to change.

So think about that. Ridiculous, insane, insidious darkness. And then here comes the Word of God. Tomorrow about this time, things are going to change. Who will receive His word? Will you receive His word? That’s a good idea.”

“Tomorrow about this time, a measure of fine flour will sell for a shekel and two measures of barley for a shekel in the gate of Samaria.” Now isn’t that amazing! In the very place that there’s famine, tomorrow about this time things are going to change. Yes! “Then the captain on whose hand the king leaned answered the man and said, If the Lord should make windows in heaven, could this be? But Elijah said, You shall see it with your own eyes, but you shall not eat it.”

Four lepers

So it wasn’t about position who participated. Now for men who were lepers were at the entrance of the cityscape. And they said to one another, Why do we sit here until we die? They were cornered! What I absolutely love was that in their depravity, they knew they were cornered. And they knew Why are we sitting here until we die? He just said tomorrow things are going to change. So if you’re in a place where you feel like you’re dying, you’re in a great place. And if you’re in a place where you’ve been dejected and rejected and you got that whole leprosy thing going on, you’re in a great place.

Father, your mercy pours over those that are in the condition of the lepers today. And they see that they truly are in a great place. This actually is a leadership question. “Why do we sit here until we die?” That’s leadership! It’s a question that says, I’m not going to sit here until I die. I’m not gonna do it. In fact, I’m questioning why this would ever be a good idea.

“If we say we will enter the city, then the famine is in the city and we shall die there.” Okay. “And if we sit here, we die also. So now come, let us go over to the army of the Syrians. If they spare us alive, we shall live. And if they kill us, we shall but die.” Leadership question: “Why am I sitting here until I die.” Why!

Holy Spirit will answer that question for you. Leadership decision. “Well, if I sit here, I’m going to die. If I move forward and take a risk and change positions and move forward. If I die, who cares? I was going to die anyway.” Leadership action item: move forward.

Even if you can’t see what’s next, get out of that position. And so this is with compassion, I’m saying these things. The Holy Spirit is even speaking to you. We’re not going to discount what it was like for the lepers. What it’s like for you. We’re not going to discount that. It’s just that He’s calling you now because people are eating their children. Destinies are being completely wiped out. Why would you sit there until you die?

“So they arose in the twilight and went to the Syrian camp. But when they came to the edge of the camp, no man was there.” There was no one there to oppose them. I would prose a question. The Word says that if God is for you, no one can be against you. There was no man there to oppose them. And they were expecting an army. So when we step forward expecting great opposition, no matter what, He’s with us.

“For the Lord had made the Syrian army hear a noise of chariots and horses, the noise of a great army.” Now, hello! God dealt with the big guys. God dealt with big tech. God dealt with tyranny. And all they did, the lepers… Can you imagine their outfits? I’m sure they had really bad outfits. Do you know what I mean? They weren’t dressed for success. Okay? And they go in because it’s way better than here. They go in. Billy Graham “just as you are” come forward. They just went in as they were. And God dealt with their enemies.

We have precedence in the Word. You have precedence in the Word to move forward. And have it work out.

“For the Lord made the Syrian army hear a noise of chariots and horses, the noise of a great army. They had said to one another, the king of Israel has hired the Hittite and Egyptian Kings to come upon us.” So God created, I don’t know either truth or a rumor, but they left.

“So the Syrians arose and fled in the twilight and left their tents.” God is strategizing against the enemy’s strategies. “Horses, donkeys, even the camp as it was and fled for their lives. And when these lepers came to the edge of the camp, they went into one tent and ate and drank and carried away silver, gold, and clothing. And went and hid them in the darkness.” Okay, just remember that. “Then they entered another tent and carried from there also and went and hid it.” So here they are, they got a breakthrough and then they hide it under a bushel. So they get relief and they’re thinking, Okay, let’s just relax a little bit now. Okay, now I have some relief. I’m just going to hide those treasures. I’m going to enjoy this breakthrough.” I love what they did.

“Then they said to one another, we are not doing right. This is a day of good news and we are silent and do not speak up.” This is a day of good news and you will no longer be silent. You will speak up. These are lepers. Like, disgraced. They look awful. Rags. And it’s occurring to them, “we have to tell people about this.”

“If we wait until daylight, some punishment will come upon us for not reporting at once.” A Holy Ghost conviction. “I must speak up. I must tell people about the goodness of God. I must make that phone call. I must do whatever it is, the Holy Spirit has put on my heart to do.”

“Now come let us go and tell the King’s household.” What? Lepers going to tell the king! “So they came and called to the gatekeepers of the city. They told them “We came to the camp of the Syrians and behold, there was neither sight or sound of man there, only the horses and donkeys tied to the tents as they were. Then the gatekeepers called out and it was told to the King’s household.” All of a sudden they’re influencers in the highest realm!

You who consider yourself a leper. God wants to exalt you to influence your sphere of influence. Don’t wait. There’s no more waiting going on, except waiting on God. That’s it. It’s time now. It’s time!

Father, we thank you that you call us to leadership. We thank you that you prepare us for leadership.
