Morning Chapel Prayer Today
Pastor Heather…
Galatians 6:9 in the Amplified Classic.
“And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right. For in due time and at the appointed season, we shall reap if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.”
Some of us have grown weary…
So how do we not grow weary? When Brother Goke came in, and he’s like, “We’re bringing in the King of Glory. We’re opening up the gates,” I could see he’s trying to get us into that presence, to get excited. And there’s something in us, there’s a weariness that we’re all, I believe, fighting in the day and age that we’re in. But we are not to grow weary. We’re to give Him praise. We’re to give Him glory. We’re to be exuberant, excited, right? And I can even find my own body just wanting to be like, “Ugh, I’m just kind of not in the mood today,” or, “I’m tired today.” I’ll be honest, I’m a person too, right? But we’re not to grow weary. And I do believe the enemy is throwing out every fiery dart he can right now to try to wear down the body of Christ, to try to wear us down.
What to do when you have grown weary…
So how do we fight being weary? Isaiah 40:31, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
So what is the “wait”? What does that mean to wait? In Hebrew, that word wait means “to look eagerly for, to hope, to expect, to linger for, to be collected, to gather together, to patiently tarry.”
We are to be bound together…
But one of the most interesting meanings, I think, is “to bind together.” And it says, “perhaps by twisting.” So picture that, being bound by twisting. So to bind, that’s to tie or to fasten something tightly, to be encircled by something so as to have greater strength, to cause to stick together.
Binding together like baking…
Think about binding ingredients together when you’re baking, right? Those of you that bake, you have the eggs, you have the flour, and it says to bind them together. Once you bind them together, you don’t take the egg out. You don’t take the flour out. You don’t take the sugar out. They are bound together. We are bound together with Christ. So see yourself bound together with Him.
Or have you ever tried to try on a pair of shoes at the store and they’re bound together? And you’re walking like this, right? Picture that. We are bound to Him. We’re tied to Him. We can’t get too far away from Him if we choose to be bound to Him.
Psalm 139:5 says…
“You have beset me and shut me in behind and before, and you have laid your hand upon me.”
So just think of that.
He’s before you.
He’s behind you.
His hand is upon you.
Our strength doesn’t come from the natural…
When we wait upon Him, we are bound to Him. And that’s where we get our strength. And I think so many times we’re trying to get our strength in the natural, in our own means, right? But we have to be bound to Him. We have to wait on Him. That’s where our strength comes from.
We don’t have to overcome weariness with our own strength…
So if we’re feeling weary, we haven’t been waiting. We haven’t been getting into His presence. Or we just maybe haven’t been acknowledging His presence or acknowledging His strength or acknowledging the fact that we are bound together, that we don’t have to do it in our own strength. Amen?
We cast our cares onto Him…
And when those troubles come, those aren’t your troubles. They’re His. So He says, “Cast your cares upon Me, for I care for you.” Those are His cares. So you give them to Him, and He’ll take care of them. Our job is to keep in His presence, to abide, to wait, to be bound to Him so that we’re not doing it alone. And when we do that, then He renews our strength.
Prayed…
So thank you, Father, that today, we wait on you. We want to be bound to you.
We want to look to you.
We want to abide in you.
We want to live in you.
We know that you are the vine.
We are the branches, and we can do nothing in and of ourselves.
Any fruit that we have is because of you, so we abide in that vine.
And if we’re a branch and our leaves are starting to wither, we need to get bound back into that vine, abiding, abiding, abiding, living in His presence, waiting, waiting, waiting.
We are to come to Him when we are weary…
“Those that are weary, come to me,” He says. “Come to Me.” So that means if there’s any weariness in us today, we’re not coming to the source of where our help comes from.
Prayed…
So we thank You, Father, for a refreshing today, a strengthening as we wait upon You.
You’re renewing our strength, renewing our youth, that we can run, that we can fly because You’re renewing it as we abide and wait in Your presence, as we trust in You.
You are the vine.
We are the branches.
Picture that in your mind: He is the vine and we are the branches…
Just picture that now. He’s the vine. We are the branches. It means we’re not producing fruit on our own. We’re doing it through Him. It means we’re not running ahead and doing our own thing. No, we are connected to the vine. He supplies our strength. He supplies our nutrition. He supplies abundance, everything we need. He supplies it. We’re not trying to supply it on our own. And we’re producing the fruit that He wants us to produce because we’re connected to Him.
Prayed…
Thank you, Father. You are the vine.
We abide, we wait, we renew, or we exchange our strength.
We’re exchanging our weakness for your strength today.
Prayer about weariness in body of Christ…
So we lift up the weariness of the church right now, the weariness of the body of Christ.
We’ve been weathered.
We’ve been under attack by the enemy.
We say “No more in Jesus’ name.”
Because they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.
And so now we wait.
And we ask that you renew our strength, that we might mount up like eagles, that we might run like young people again.
We thank you, Father, for that strength, that refreshing, that renewing into the body of Christ now.
We declare that.
Renewing, refreshing, renewing, refreshing, exchanging strength now.
Declarations of faith…
No, the enemy’s not winning. That’s a lie. He’s not winning.
He’s not making headway. No, no, no. That’s the lie of the enemy. Nope, nope.
We are more than conquerors through Christ.
We are above and not beneath.
We are the head and not the tail.
We are blessed going in and blessed going out.
We are seated with him in heavenly places.
He’d given us everything we need for life and righteousness.
No weapon formed against us shall prosper.
We have the armor of God.
We have the shield of faith to quench those fiery darts.
The battle belongs to the Lord.
Yes. Be strong and courageous.
For He’s already conquered hell and death and sin.
It’s already been conquered.
We are more than victors.
The Devil is under our feet.
So we thank you for renewing, a renewing of strength.
