Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today

Pastor Ken…

The clock has counted down. It is time for prayer, once again, here at Living Word. Hello everyone. Happy Wednesday. Hope you’re doing well. And for those of you that stayed up watching the election returns, I hope you got a little bit of sleep. But if not, well, there’s always later on today. Or whatever the case might be. Well, good to be with you all. Welcome everybody who’s joining us.

Regardless of politics, His plan is being carried out…

Today I want to start off with a couple of things I want to share. How many of you know that God still has a plan, and His plan is being carried out. And His plan is going to advance because His kingdom is of a higher order than the kingdoms and the regimes and the politics of this world? We trust Him ultimately. We don’t waver in our faith, in our confidence in Him. He’s faithful, He’s good. He has a way forward for His church and for His plans to be executed, to prosper, to thrive, and accomplish what He wants to accomplish in our generation, regardless.

The more adverse the conditions, the more the Gospel thrives…

In fact, scripture seems to imply and insinuate that when conditions are the more adverse, the more the Gospel thrives and the more His light shines…

Out of darkness
Out of our lives
Out of our preaching
Out of our prayers
Out of what He’s called us to do

Excerpt of Jeannie Wilkerson’s book, “Contact With God…”

I want to read a couple things to you. The first excerpt I want to share with you this morning comes from a book entitled “Contact With God,” which is from Jeannie Wilkerson. I actually copied it, so I don’t have the book in front of me. But it’s from chapter five entitled “Effectual Prayer.” And again, my heart is to impart something to you. My heart is to stir you up. My heart is to, day by day, lay a foundation for effective prayer, for prayer that produces the power of God in your life and in the lives of others you’re praying for.

But she writes this…

“Jesus is our great example for everything that we do. Even though He is our High Priest, while He was here on earth, He operated as a man who is dependent upon the Holy Spirit.”

And, of course, there is our first example, our first template. We’re called to be, yes, human beings in this generation and time, living totally dependent on God. Not partially, but fully dependent on God.

She goes on to say…

“He operated as a man who was dependent upon the Holy Spirit. So we must ask ourselves how Jesus had power to perform signs and wonders and miracles that He did.”

I’m reading this too because there’s something I’m sensing in my spirit that we’ve been praying about, I’ve been praying about, and I just see it. We’re in an hour of activation where God is…

Activating His people
Activating the gifts within us
Activating the assignments that have been delegated to us

Make no mistake about it…

If you’re still rubbing sleep out of your eye, you have an assignment on your life for today and for every day. And I believe the Holy Spirit in this moment in time is activating things within us, things that may have lain dormant or have been inactive in some way or unrecognized or acknowledged in our lives. God wants us to see the gift of God that is within us. And He wants to activate the call to prayer. He wants to activate the call to go and to influence and to be a light in this time.

Jeannie Wilkerson goes on to say…

“Jesus was born of the Spirit, but He still had to maintain a continual contact with the Father through prayer. He was able to perform such miraculous signs and wonders because the Holy Spirit produced them through Him.”

He wants to put on a full display of His glory…

Just like He’s going to produce signs, wonders, and miracles through you. The reason for the activation is that He wants to put on a display of His glory. That’s through our hands, through our feet, through our decision to go with God today, through our prayers, through the laying on of hands, through our preaching, through what we do in our everyday lives. He wants to produce heaven in our sphere of influence.

It goes on to say…

“In Hebrews 5:7, it says ‘Who in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard in that He feared,” or He reverenced, He worshiped. “This scripture is not telling us that Jesus was afraid of God the Father. Rather, Jesus so respected and relied upon the Father to perform the works that He continually kept His communication with the Father intact. James describes our own need to remain in constant contact with the Father when it says, ‘Confess your faults one to another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man or woman availeth much.’ James 5:16. What is the effectual fervent prayer James is talking about? If all the prayers that believers have prayed throughout history had been effectual fervent prayers, the entire world would be knocking down the doors of the church to get saved. But sadly, most of our prayers have been just for show. Rarely do we pray in private as we should. We tend to speak forth our prayers with pomp and ceremony, but if our prayers are just lip service, we’d be better off not wasting our breath. So many people’s lives depend on effectual, fervent prayers that we can’t afford to pray ineffectually.”

And in this other section, she cites Acts 2:41 and the scripture says…

“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship and in the breaking of bread and in prayer. Prayer has always played an important role in the lives of those who serve God. Exodus 38 outlines instructions for keeping the tabernacle, which serves as a type of prayer for us today. The priests were never to let the incense die out in the holy place. It was to be a perpetual incense before the Lord throughout your generations. Prayer is to constantly rise into God’s presence as an acceptable work of mankind. He taught us by example of the golden altar of incense that in the church of the living God, prayer is to never go out. God gave us these instructions for a reason. He knows the end from the beginning, and He wants His church to continue in prayer until the end.

“The book of Revelation speaks of the end of church history and foretells how the church will complete her journey. But the beginning of the book of Revelation reveals certain messages to the churches, and the news is not so good. Great changes have come to the churches that were once strong in prayer. They have grown cold. The Ephesians church, for example, which had been at a high pinnacle of spiritual knowledge, has become so cold that Jesus says to her ‘You have lost your first love.’ Revelation 2:4. In this passage, it is the church, not the individual sinner, whom Jesus calls to repentance.”

And finally, she writes…

“If we have access to the power of prayers that avail much, but we do not use it, then we are in sin. We sin against the people in our generation when we don’t pray for them. If we don’t pray for our church, their light can become dim and they can lose their first love.”

There is an invitation for us to stir up ourselves again…

So I don’t know about you, but I’m sensing a plea, an invitation for us to stir ourselves up again. As the scripture records to see that “we’re in the faith.” It literally means test yourselves on a regular basis to see that you’re living by faith and not by sight. Living by what you know to be true according to the scriptures and the Spirit of God rather than living according to what the news media is reporting or what you’re feeling or sensing through your five physical senses on a given day.

We’re called to live by faith…

We’re in a time of activation. We’re in a time where every gift and every supply must be activated, where every one of us has a role to play in the matters of what will unfold in the future. Prayer enables the plan of God as we’ve been taught. I believe Phil Halverson used to teach and talk about this many years ago, that prayer enables the plan of God to unfold and unfold and continue to unfold unto eternity.

You play a vital role in the days ahead…

Make no mistake about it, you play a vital role in what will unfold in the days ahead, in your life, of course, in your family, in the generations that follow you should Jesus tarry, in what happens in these coming months in our nation. Our prayers are of great consequence and great value and should ever be lifted and brought before the throne of grace.

October 18, prophetic word from the Autumn Prayer Assembly…

Let me read you one other thing. This comes from the Autumn Assembly that just happened back in October. This was actually from October 18th at Billye Brim’s Autumn Prayer Assembly. And this prophetic word came forth, and I thought it was interesting. Again, I’m always tuned into what the prophetic is, that God is speaking over the church. There are cues in what God is saying prophetically. And this word came forth on the 18th of October here recently

And it says…

“For there are operations and demonstrations and manifestations of My Spirit that I’m going to rebirth into the church in this hour. There are special operations, unusual and powerful operations. And as Joshua stood and said, ‘Sun, stand still,’ over the Valley of Gibeon, and it stood still. Don’t you think My church will do even greater signs and wonders?

“For this is the hour of My glory like you have never seen or understood before. But I have to prepare you for it.”

Now, don’t just read this in a kind of like a general sense. I want you to personalize this as I’ve shared this this morning.

“Because we have a responsibility, a personal and a collective responsibility to let the Lord prepare us, to let the Lord move us up to what is now the frontline.”

If you’ve been oblivious or been distracted or been doing your own agenda, well, guess what? The line of where God intends us to be has moved. It’s perpetually being moved forward. It’s perpetually advancing. It’s onward and upward into God we go in the plan of God. Day by day, we walk with Him.

God wants us to step up to the line and take responsibility for where we are in Him…

So God is instructing and inviting us, I believe, and I can add this to this word, to step up to the line, to take personal responsibility for where we’re at individually as households, as churches, as a community of faith. To recognize that we have to open our hearts and say, “Lord, prepare me for what you prepared for me.” The Bible says He’s apprehended us for something. He has enlisted us into His great plan for this moment in time. Lives hang in the balance depending on whether or not you recognize your enlistment, to whether or not you recognize your responsibility and need to come before God on a daily basis, to open up your heart, to surrender to Him.

Every day we must choose to surrender to Him…

The prayer of consecration and surrender should be something we utilize on a regular basis. None of us just walk into the fullness of God on a given day. We’re in a journey here, and every day we must choose to surrender our lives, our hearts, our minds, our thoughts, our decisions, our resources. All that we are belongs to Him, truthfully, but He doesn’t pry it out of our hands with some sort of spiritual pry bar. No, He waits to be welcomed. He waits to be offered invitation into our today, into our agendas, into the words we use and the conversations we carry on as we go through our days.

God wants to insert Himself, make no mistake about it, into our generation, into every aspect of this world and age. But He waits to be wanted and He waits to be invited.

You have a responsibility to invite Him!
