Morning Chapel Prayer Today
Pastor Ken…
Good morning, everyone. Oh, happy Monday! We’re glad a new week is upon us, and it’s going to be a really good week. It’s going to be an outstanding week.
Choose what your perspective will be…
Remember, one of the greatest opportunities and privileges we have is the ability to choose what our perspective is going to be, what the words we’re going to say will be this week. And I don’t know about you, but I’m going to take scripture’s admonishment. I’m going to choose words of life, words of blessing, words of light and purpose. And God’s Word is His intention, or what He has planned.
We were created as speaking spirits…
And so, I know sometimes it’s hard when maybe you’ve not had such a great weekend or you’re battling symptoms or something went south that you thought was a sure thing in your life in some way, and you want to just kind of grumble and complain. And I’m empathetic towards what you’re dealing with perhaps. But as those created in the image of God… After all, God created us in His image, in His likeness. The Godhead fashioned mankind. That means, I like to say, we are created as “speaking spirits” with the privilege to leverage our wills and choose what we will say today, what we will say this week. And, again, we have the choice and the ability to choose life…
To speak into the darkness
To speak at the chaos
To speak at what’s upside down or what is painful or what is difficult, or what perhaps hasn’t changed
Truth always triumphs facts…
We can speak to those things and see them transformed. Our job is to attack the facts of our culture, of our nation, maybe our own situations or even what we’re feeling in our bodies. We can attack those facts with the truth. Truth always trumps facts. And prayer is a matter of attacking the facts with the truth of God’s Word. The Bible says God has exalted His Word. He watches over His Word. He holds all things together by the Word of His power. And so when it comes to prayer, we are dealing in the most holy and sacred thing in all the universe. And that is the Word of God.
His Word was created to be spoken…
And if you will choose to speak the Word today in prayer over your situation and circumstances, I guarantee it will have an impact. It will bring change. Maybe not in a nanosecond, but the Bible promises that His Word works. And His Word was created to be spoken not just to you but through you and I. Not just through a minister, but through you—you and me in our everyday lives.
We must release the Word. We must release the promises of God. As I’ve said before, we must pull out of our sheath. You know what a sheath is? That’s what your sword is in. You pull out the sword of the last Word of God He spoke to you out of its sheath and…
Start swinging it.
Start speaking it.
Start announcing it.
Start worshiping with it.
Start praying it out.
The Scripture tells us how we are to roll on a daily basis…
As you go through your day when pain rises up, you don’t have to sit and take it. You can speak to it. The Bible says, “Let the weak say I am strong. Let the poor say I am rich.” Hint, hint. That’s the Lord coaching us in the scriptures as to how we should roll on a daily basis. And God is searching the world around for those who will choose to not be hypnotized by what the world has to offer but rather choose to be infinitely dialed into what God says should be so. And what should be so is what He stated in His Word and what He’s spoken to you individually in your heart.
Don’t quit on the Lord. Don’t give up!
I’m reminded that in Luke 18, it says in verse 8 or so. First in verse one, it says that “men ought always to pray and not grow weary, lose heart, faint…” or as I say, wave the white flag. No, no, no! It doesn’t matter if it hasn’t changed what you’ve been praying about. God is still at work. Don’t give up on Him. The Lord is coaching some of us right now, this morning, saying, “Hey, hey, hey, I’m over here. Remember what I said to you? Remember what I promised in My Word regarding your future, regarding your finances, regarding wisdom for decision making. It’s still so! It’s still true! It’s still going to be followed through on in your natural realm in the realm of time and space. Just don’t quit on Me. Just don’t give up on Me,” the Lord is saying.
Don’t grow weary in well-doing because if you’ll continue today, just today. Don’t worry about tomorrow. Don’t worry about next week or the month of April. Today is the day of salvation. Right now. Today you have a chance to shift the trajectory of…
What’s going on around you
What’s going on in you
What’s going on in your nation
We have a “now” faith…
Today! Now is the time. We are that people. Right now. We have a “now” faith. The Bible says, “Now faith is the substance,” or you could say title deed, or contract of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. So right now, you have the contract of His Word. You have the covenant of His Word, ratified and solidified in the blood of Jesus. We have all things in Him.
We abide in Him…
If you look to yourself, yeah, you might think, “Oh my goodness, how are we going to get this done? How am I going to go another day?” You don’t have to go on your own. We’re in Him. The mystery of the Gospel is that God placed you in Christ and Christ is in you. That’s why Jesus said in John 15, “If you abide, or live, remain, dwell in Me and My words live and remain and dwell in you. You can ask whatever you will, and it should be done unto you.”
We are to adopt a new attitude of mind…
So let me just stir that consciousness up in you today. One Bible translation, I think it’s the Amplified, says that we’re to adopt “a new attitude of mind.” A new outlook. And a new perspective. Well, you can adopt it. You can say, “You know what? I’m going to take that attitude today. I’m going to take that perspective today.” One of victory. One of healing. One of the perspective that I’m a new creature in Christ Jesus. I was born again, therefore, I was completely born anew as a new species and a new creature that didn’t exist before. My old is gone. The new has come.
Hey! You’re a new creature in Christ…
I don’t care if you’ve been a Christian for 50 years, sometimes that’s what you need to remind yourself that, “Hey, I’m a new creature in Christ. What am I thinking about? I’m being drawn to my past or I’m being distracted by something that’s happening on the side of my life.” When the truth of the matter is the main deal is that you’re in Him.
And you can succeed
You can prosper
You can overcome
You can make bold faith decrees over hopeless situations and see them transformed in the timetable of God if you grow not weary in well-doing.
Your Word level feeds into your prayer level…
Glory to God. Let’s not lose sight of the basics. The Bible says we’re to give more earnest heed to those things that we’ve already learned less than any time we let them slip. That is also a broader principle for those basic or fundamentals of the faith. One of the greatest ways you can elevate, you can stir up your prayer life is by giving some focused attention and time to be in the Word of God. Whether you have to pull up your Bible app and listen to it, or you’re reading it in an analog version of the Bible or whatever the case might be. Your Word level will determine your prayer level. They feed into one another. They benefit one another.
We must pray from the reality of the finished work of Jesus…
Pastor Lynne, through the years, has taught us the importance of being grounded in the scriptures, that we pray from the Word, that we pray from the reality of the finished work of Jesus. Faith comes by hearing and hearing and hearing and perpetually, day by day, sometimes on a given day, moment by moment from the Word of God. And from what the scripture paints the picture as far as what our new reality is. And our new reality is that we’re “in Him.” Our new reality is Jesus made a way for us, once again…
To walk with God
To talk with God
To listen to His voice
To be His mouthpiece in this earthly realm, in your household, in your nation, in your workplace, in your school… wherever you go!
When Jesus returns, will He find praying people?
Luke 18:1 says that men and women “ought always to pray, not grow weary, lose heart or give up.” If you jump down a few verses, it asks a question. It says, “When Jesus returns, will He find faith in the earth?” So, in other words, upon His reappearing, when He comes back, is He going to find in the earth… you could say in the church, in your life, or in my life? Faith. If you read that passage in context, I always like to point out that the context of those several passages of verses is prayer. In other words, will He find His people releasing faith through their prayers, through their faith decrees, through their exercise of authority?
Our new vocation is dominion…
I’ll remind you again: our new vocation is dominion. Our new day-to-day responsibility in this life is to resist the forces of darkness arrayed against us, is to stand in the gap maybe when everything’s going fine in our lives, but maybe things aren’t going fine in our nation or on the theater of the world stage of some kind, or in another person’s life, and we’re to step in and bring order out of chaos.
How?
With our prayers
With the release of faith
With words.
Jeremiah 49:35 word fulfilled in Iran…
I think this is interesting. I wanted to highlight this. I’m not going to teach on it or anything like that, but I just think it’s interesting because we might pray about this. We already lifted up Iran this morning, but somebody pointed out here the other day that it’s interesting in the book of Jeremiah 49:35, it says, “Thus says the Lord of hosts, Behold I will break the bow of Elam.” Elam was Persia and modern-day Iran. It’s actually in the southwest corner of Iran is where Elam is. Which I think is interesting that that’s what it says. And now we’re seeing what we’re seeing unfold in Iran right now. Perhaps God is breaking the bow of Elam.
A modern-day fulfillment of Purim…
It’s also interesting simultaneously today or later today or tonight is the beginning of Purim, which celebrates the events that surrounded and what went on in ancient Israel. Israel was captive in Persia, modern-day Iran. And if you know the story, you know that an evil man by the name Haman hatched a destructive plot basically to exterminate the Jewish people. But through the help of Mordecai and Esther, interestingly enough, the very gallows that Haman created to exterminate the Jews, he was hung with. And it’s interesting what’s going on in Iran, where right now the very things that they had manufactured to destroy Satan and the great Satan, Israel and America, they’re being destroyed with right now. I don’t know…
“I will bring back the captives of Elam,” says the Lord.
But I mostly believe that has to do with their leadership there in Iran. It’s interesting because at the end of Jeremiah 49, it says that God will bring in verse 39, “But it shall come to pass in the latter days, I will bring back the captives of Elam, says the Lord.” Well, the people there in Iran have been the captive for almost 50 years or so now. And, of course, they’re marching with jubilation even in the United States, groups of Iranians all over Canada and the United States and they’ve been marching for freedom in Iran while thousands of them were obviously murdered here in recent last month or two.
We’re in biblical times!
So I believe Bible prophecy is unfolding on a moment-by-moment basis right now. And I think we’re seeing it on the news and we’re going to hear about it in the days ahead, even more so. So we’re in very biblical times. When we refer to Bible times, we’re not talking about ancient Israel. We’re talking about right now. Right now! And guess what? We’re a part of the unfolding plan of God, as I’ve said.
