Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today

Pastor Ken…

Happy Wednesday, everyone. Welcome to morning prayer. It seems like we just ended and here we are again. Time just keeps marching, doesn’t it? It keeps moving. Well, it’s good to be with you all here in the chapel. My name is Ken and I’m one of the pastors here on staff at Living Word.

Announcements…

I thought I would start us out by sharing a couple of announcements. I want to invite everyone to join us this Wednesday night as Pastor Jim is in the house. And then this coming weekend, we have the one and only Leif Hetland with us for all our weekend services.

A facet of God that gets overlooked…

I was talking with a friend last night and we were discussing a facet of God that I think often gets overlooked by the Church and by individual believers. And it has to do with the fact that when we see the life of Jesus who exhibited the Father, there was a tenacious about Him. There was a spirit of faith on Jesus. Right? And I was talking with my friend, and we were just talking about how there are some things that we will only obtain and step into as the Church if…

Once we become tenacious
Once we become determined
Once we become demanding, honestly.

Isaiah 45:11…

And I was just kind of looking up some scriptures last night and in Isaiah 45:11 it states this: “Thus says the Lord, the holy one of Israel and his maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons and concerning the work of my hands, you command me.”

I remember a Bible teacher many years ago talking about how there’s a couple different passages in the gospels where it’s recorded that Jesus taught His disciples (and therefore us) how to pray. And when He instructed us through the gospels to ask, in the original language, there is the connotation that we’re to demand. Not from God. But demand…

What He’s already said yes to
What He’s already paid for
What He’s already provided for

Catch this in Numbers 14:9; it says…

“Only do not rebel against the Lord, nor fear the people of the land. For they are bread, their protection has departed from them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them.”

So, in essence, we’re seeing a prophetic picture here, or reminder, that our enemy’s defenses have left him—all the kingdom of darkness. They have been defeated. They have received their “beat down.” And it’s our responsibility as the Church and as pray-ers and believers…

To enforce that beat down
To enforce the victory
To demand that he cough up whatever he’s hindering and blocking and stopping

In this generation, the Lord is looking for a spirit of faith…

God is not the problem. He’s already said, “Yes.” I have often coined a name for the Lord: He is the God of “Yes.” He’s already said “yes” to every one of His exceeding great and precious promises. But I believe in this hour, one of the things the Lord is looking for in the Church is a spirit of faith. We must recognize we’re in a spiritual war and opposing forces seek to hinder, or delay even, what God planned for us to experience and enjoy and witness with our eyes and our generation. And so He’s looking for a spirit of faith to rise up in the Church and in the life of the individual believer. It’s not something that He overpowers us to make or to do. We must become righteously indignant…

About what we’re seeing
About what’s not happening
About what we’re living with
About what we’re putting up with
About the status quo

Come on! Can I get an “amen”?

In Matthew 11:12, Jesus said…

“And from the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven suffers violence and the violent take it by force.

Mark 11:22…

“So Jesus answered and said to them, have faith in God for assuredly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, be removed and be cast into the sea and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things that he says will be done. He will have whatever he says. Therefore, I say to you, whatsoever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them and you will have them.”

It’s not lost on me, as I was reflecting on this last night, that in the Old Testament even under a lesser covenant, Moses made this strong statement. He said, “Lord, don’t take me up from this place unless your presence goes with me.” In other words, he was demanding that God’s presence would go with him. And God isn’t offended at that. He actually smiles on that. He loves it. And He’s been waiting all along for His children to have a rising up within them, a spirit of faith about them. Because we begin to recognize who we are and what we possess and what we share with Jesus, that equal position and possession with Jesus. We are “in Christ” once again. You’re not the old self that you used to be. You are a new creature recreated in Him as we know…

With new features
And new endowments
And new authority
And a new right to the use of the family name—the name of Jesus!

Which the last time I checked says that every knee in heaven, on earth, and under the earth must bow and reverence that name.

Stirring up a spirit of faith within you…

So I’m just wanting to just stir up and maybe deposit in you today a spirit of faith, that just rises up in you, not just in morning prayer or at a weekend service, but when you’re going about doing your everyday routine or in your home getting ready for bed or on the way out the door; there’s just something that you yield to inside of you. It’s a fire! It’s an indignation that…

How dare you, Devil, meddle in my affairs?
How dare you mess with my church?
How dare you think that you’re going to have your way in America?

Oh no, you’re not! You have another think coming because I have the Word that says differently. But God is looking for a people who will become bold and audacious and step out on a limb, so to speak, a faith and say what we want to see, not what we already have. That’s what Jesus was saying there. It was a principle of the kingdom, a law, really, that you can have what you say—not say what you have! That’s easy. You’ve already got that.

We’re in a new season…

God wants us as a church, as the body of Christ, as individuals, to come out of the status quo and into this bold, burgeoning, and beautiful and blessed already new day. We’re in a new season. We’re already stepping into a new era. It’s time for us to get with God to join Him in the work He’s doing. And the work that He’s doing is bold and audacious and powerful and far reaching to redeem the precious fruit of the earth. It’s not lost on me that…

  • Jesus Himself commanded the wind and the waves and they obeyed Him.
  • He called Lazareth forth from the tomb. He prayed but just for those that were around Him. He said, “I’m praying only because I want those around me to see this. But I know, Lord, all I need to do is say the word.” And Lazarus came forth.
  • He rebuked unclean spirits and set people free on a regular basis.
  • He forcefully took back the keys of death, hell, and the grave at will.
  • And He delegated authority to the Church. That’s us! He announced, “All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth.”

It’s time for us to take what is ours…

And so I just want to stir that up in you today, that it’s time for you to take what’s yours. And God’s just been waiting. He’s been waiting. Yes, you’ve prayed. Yes, you have been faithful. Yes, we continue to be faithful, but maybe what’s required next is a bold, uncertain announcement and decree in your house, on the road in your car, in your place with the Lord that this is how it’s going to be.

The great John Knox…

I’ve quoted the great John Knox, who many, many years ago said, “Lord, give me Scotland or let me die.” That’s how bold and how audacious he was. In other words, he had been praying and interceding for there to come an awakening in his nation. And he said, “Lord, if you’re not going to do it, then just take me up.” That’s how bold and audacious he was.

The spirit of faith is how we ought to roll on a daily basis…

That’s why sometimes I’ll say, “Lord, don’t think that I’m not going to have this because I will in Jesus’ name.” That’s the spirit of faith. That’s how we ought to roll on a daily basis and especially in prayer.

Prayed…

And so, Father, we thank you today for this spirit of faith.
We pray, Lord, may it rise in our spirits today.
Lord, may it be pollinated upon the body of Christ here at Living Word and listening to me online today.
Father, I pray for a spirit of faith to come forth now for dead bones to be revived and come back to life.
Where we’ve let some things go latent or stagnant or where we’re stuck in some ways.
Father, I pray for a righteous anger to rise up in us and say, “How dare you, Devil. How dare this remain. It shall not remain, for I will go forth today in the power of the Spirit.”
Lord, we pray for our brothers and sisters in our families, and in our churches, in our lives wherever we go, may the spirit of faith rise up in people now more than ever.

Word came forth for those who think they have come to an end…

It’s time to go the distance. Don’t stop! Don’t quit. It’s time to move. Move with the Spirit. Move in His anointing. Move in Jesus’ name. Finish your course! Finish it!

I speak to you in Jesus’ name, those that think that they’ve come to the end, “Your course is not finished.”
We call you to complete it, in Jesus’ name.
We need your gifting. We need you as part of the body.
And we call you today to stay in your place, to continue to press, continue to move until the very end in Jesus’ name.
Yeah, I see that. He’s given you a leg up today.
He’s putting His hand right underneath you and He is lifting you up into that place.

A word to those who have become weary…
Those that have become weary, we speak to you today.
We speak strength! We speak joy into your life in Jesus’ name.
That that joy would rise up on the inside of you and strengthen you in your soul, strengthen you in your body that your spirit would be refreshed today.
No more… no more doubt… and no more fear. We cast you out in Jesus’ name.
Fear go! Spirit of fear, “Go” in Jesus’ name. Be gone. Be gone. No fear.
Be settled, in Jesus’ name, be settled in your heart. Perfect peace. Perfect peace in the name of Jesus Christ.
Because the peace of God supersedes our understanding.
It’s a peace that comes on the inside that strengthens, that calms, that settles your soul down.
So take that today in Jesus’ name. Let Him show Himself strong on your behalf.
Oh, for He is good. He is faithful. He will not fail you. He will be with you every single day until the end in Jesus’ name.
You can count on Him. You can completely lean and rest upon Him, for He causes you to lie down, woo-hoo, in Jesus’ name.
