Ms. Annie led us singing Because of the Blood

Ms. Annie prayed…

Thank You, Lord, for this opportunity to come into Your presence
And join our hearts with Your heart in worship, in praise, and as forces that join with You in Your plan and in Your purposes
We ask You to have Your way, Lord, in everything we do and everything we say
And everything we are in this day in Jesus’ name
Hallelujah, hallelujah

Ms. Annie shared…

Well, this is a little different for me. Pastor Ray asked me to facilitate this meeting while he’s in Florida. I will just go with the flow. But when I woke up this morning, I did have something the Lord put on my heart.

The first thing I had was from John 15 about abiding in Jesus. I was thinking I would read that because Jesus said “If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, you will ask what you will and it will be done for you.” Well, we want the petitions that we are asking of God for His plan to come forth in the earth. We want that to be done for us. So, we want to abide in Him.

But then the first thing that happened when I woke up, I just kept hearing about the blood of Jesus. It’s only because of His blood that we can abide in Him. Isn’t that right? And then out came this really old book by Sister Cornelia Nuzum.

The following excerpt was taken from The Life of Faith by Sister Cornelia Nuzum

God says His people are like sheep in the midst of wolves. So God has given us a wonderful weapon to use, the blood of Jesus. This is our weapon, our shield, our hiding place. We read in Luke 22:20: “Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.” He had spoken of taking the bread before this. I am so glad He said of the blood that it is “for you.” If I were to take anything that belonged to you without your telling me I could do so, that would be presumption; so I am glad Jesus said, “which is shed for you.” So long as we are walking in obedience to Him we have a right to that blood every moment. Jesus said, “It is the new testament in my blood.” He tried to teach spiritual things by comparing them with things which they could understand, and when He wanted to make them know how sure His covenant is, He used as an illustration the most stable covenant that earth knows anything about. When some tribes and people enter into a covenant they prick the arm, or some part of the body, and put some of the blood on those who make the agreement with them.

This means that every drop of their lifeblood should be poured out if necessary to keep that covenant or pledge. So when Jesus says, “This cup is the new testament in my blood,” He means every promise in this Book, every part of this covenant that He makes with us is to be kept even at the cost of every bit of His lifeblood. Can you doubt a promise sealed like that? Can you be weak in faith when Jesus tells you that all His life and strength shall be poured out before that promise shall fail? Could anything make you more confident than that? The Blood represents the life. The Word says that the blood is the life (Genesis 9:4). The Blood poured out represents death. His covenant is the blood covenant, and it is the Blood of the everlasting covenant; it is for time and eternity.

The Blood cleanses. The Word tells us that our sins are blotted out by the Blood. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). It is blessed to know that all our past sins are gone—blotted out forever; but He goes further than that. He removes those evil desires, cravings, and characteristics produced by habitually yielding to the urgings of the selfish nature; but when we fully consecrate all we are and have to Him and have our wills firmly set to obey Him in all things, He causes us to govern our lives by the law of love—that is, He puts within us a heart of flesh and the mind that was in Christ Jesus.

All we have to do is purpose, set our hearts that we want to live for Him, that we want our wills set to obey Him and He will cause us to be changed from the inside out. He will cause us to govern our lives by His love, love. He takes out the heart of stone and gives us a heart of flesh. He takes out our low thinking and gives us the mind of Christ

So many people struggle and strive and fight against lack of love, unbelief, doubt, etc., but they do not get victory. A sister told me that the Lord once opened her eyes to the impatience in her life, and she fought and struggled against it, and she said: “Do you think I improved a bit? No, indeed. But there came a day when I saw that the Blood was to destroy that thing in me, and I trusted the Blood to do it, and very soon I had the victory.”

When you see anything in you that produce the transgression, remember that His blood will take that away. Then He says, “Reckon ye also yourselves to be dead” (Romans 6:11). Count on it; that it is really true. The bearing about in your body the death of the Lord Jesus makes that thing in you really dead and separated from you. He says we are redeemed, not with corruptible things, such as silver and gold, but with the precious blood of Jesus.

We read in the Old Testament that, if we, His children, keep His laws, He will put none of the diseases upon us, which were brought upon the Egyptians, so we see that sickness is the result of the broken law, and this Blood redeems us from sin, and also from sickness, for He bore the curse of the broken law. We must trust the blood of Jesus to deliver us from pain and sickness and disease, for that Blood has bought us away from disease. My prayers seem so poor and worthless, so weak and insignificant. It is blessed to know then that Jesus Christ is seated at the right hand of God making intercession for us. And the Bible says that the Holy Ghost also makes intercession; and also that the Blood cries, or speaks for us.

How often we feel there is a distance between us and God, and we long to get a little nearer. God says the Blood has brought us nigh. We read that in heaven the robes of the saints are washed white in the blood of the Lamb. Those that are cleansed must be washed from the appetites and desires of the flesh. Jesus said that we are to “drink His blood.” So we drink His blood to make us clean and to give us life; and we take it to make us nigh. We may not feel nigh, but God says the Blood makes us nigh and we must believe it. How blessed it is to get nigh to God in these awful days! Then the Word says the Blood gives us access to His face, and through this access we see His marvelous love and His wonderful willingness to give us what He has promised.

In Revelation 12:11 we are told that, “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.” Sin, temptation, sickness, disease, everything that comes from Satan is included in that. The Blood overcame him. When anything is overcome, it has no more power. This Book says they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. Not merely by your word or their word, but by your testimony to what God has done coupled with your faith in the Blood is the overcoming accomplished. No matter in what way the enemy comes, whether in discouragement, temptation, sickness, or any other way, he is overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony. If ever there was a time when God’s children needed to know the power and use of the blood of Jesus, it is now. We are in the last days, and God says in these days there will be seducing spirits. Demons become like angels of light, beautiful, and apparently good. The enemy tries to deceive in every possible way and rages because his time is short. Jesus is coming soon, and God is going to have some that will be ready to meet Him, some that have been made overcomers through the blood of the Lamb. What a wonderful gift Jesus made us when He gave us His precious Blood!

Scripture focus…

(11) But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; 12Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. Hebrews 9:11–12 (KJV)

(12) But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God; (13) From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. (14) For by one offering he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified. (15) Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, (16) This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; (17) And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
(19) Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, (20) By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; (21) And having an high priest over the house of God; (22) Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. (23) Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised) Hebrews 10:12–17, 19–23 (KJV)

Ms. Annie…

I thought it would be nice to celebrate what Jesus did for us by taking communion. I didn’t have any juice at home so I brought water and soda crackers. But you know Jesus turned water into wine. That was His first miracle. And one of my favorite things I heard Joseph Prince say about the law and grace, he said “One of the first miracles that Moses the lawgiver did was when he poured the water of the Nile out and it turned into blood and it produced death. But the first miracle Jesus did was He turned water into wine resulting in joy and celebration.” So we are celebrating.

Jesus said “As often as you do these things, remember Me.” And all of a sudden it hit me that He was a human being. I am sure there are multiple layers in the Spirit about all that is in remembering what He did. But He was also a man. He didn’t want to go to the Cross any more than I would want to. And He wanted His disciples to remember Him. He didn’t even say “As often as you do these things, remember what I did for you.” Instead He said “remember Me.” That kind of gave a little shift in my thinking when I receive the Lord’s Table, not just to think about what He did, not just to think about all that it symbolizes, but just to remember Him, just to remember who He is. He was the perfect Son of God but He was also a man and that He loved us. He was a beautiful, perfect human being Who never did one thing wrong but gave everything for my wrongs.

When I take the Lord’s table, I always try to stop for a minute and say to myself, “Jesus, I remember You.” We are growing in the knowledge of Who He is and knowing what that means.

Receiving of Communion…

(14) And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him. (15) And he said unto them, With Fervent desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer: (16) For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. (17) And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves: (18) For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. (19) And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

So, Jesus, we remember Your broken body.

(20) Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

Lord Jesus, we remember You. You said that whenever we do this, “Remember Me.” So, we remember You, Jesus. We ask You to open up our hearts and our minds to know more of Who You are, beautiful Savior, blessed Redeemer. We remember You and receive all that You provided in Jesus’ name.

As we took the Lord’s Table and remembered Him, if He showed you something about Himself, I thought it would be good if you would share it. I know He did. He said something to every single person here.

Ms. Cindy…

I love to take Communion because the blood of Jesus washes your conscience. And sometimes we don’t feel like we are connecting with God and hearing Him clearly or maybe just distracted. I know whenever I partake of the blood and the body of Christ I can say “I am ready to have perfect communion with You, Father. And I am going to hear so well.” I know this. It is a type of entering into the Holy of Holies. That veil was rent and the blood washes our conscience, it purges our conscience form the dead works. At times we tend to think “I could do this or I could do that.” But there is something specific that God is calling us to do. He wants to give us direction so we are not expending our energy unwisely, to simply do what He has already prepared for us. So, I receive that instruction when I take communion.

But when we were taking communion, I heard this in my spirit “When I take communion, He is my High Priest after the order of Melchizedek, without beginning of days or end of life. So we are taking communion after the order of an endless life, eternal life. That’s what He came to give us, eternal life.”

Ms. Lou….

I am just thankful to be obedient to God. We take communion every morning. And sometimes even if I am busy, I just take communion. It’s not that I make a big deal. I just go get my juice and bread. I say “Lord, I remember You. I am so thankful that You give me a mind to remember You throughout the day.”

When I do communion I will say “Lord, I am so grateful that You are taking control of my mind and my family.” Thomas, my husband, said to me this morning before we had to drive our daughter “Did you take communion this morning?” I used to bring it to them and then God just gave me a desire to just leave it out with their names. And they are taking it and God is so good and I am just so thankful to be obedient to Him. And there is power in that. There is power and it is amazing when I take it. It will just bring to me not so much the suffering but the goodness. I just see what He has done for me and I think about His promise and His promises are Yes and Amen! And I stand on them and it gets me through the day. I jump and shout for joy! Thank you!

Ms. Trudy…

When my kids were really tiny I used to buy the juice and the waffle and we would do communion. It was really cool for them. One time I was going through an attack and it was all over my mind and my daughter was like “Mommy, let’s take bread and juice!” And I was like “Oh, yeah, let’s do that.” And after we did it, that thing just got broken off. My mind was free. I was just in a different cloud. And then ever since then, I decided instead of us buying the bread and the juice, maybe we can just do crackers and orange juice but that didn’t work because they didn’t look forward to that. You know how kids are. So, when we were taking the communion I was reminded of those things and to go buy the bread and juice right away so we can go back to that.

Ms. Annie…

That’s the fulfillment of that scripture “and a child shall lead them.” How many times has a little child said something to me and I am like “Oh, I knew that (ha, ha, ha).” You know, anything Jesus tells us to do, if we just do it… That’s the key is to do it.

Brother Peter…

When Todd White came a couple weeks ago, he gave me a different perspective of the Word of God. He said “Give your life to God. He will complete it.” I have been listening to him and even this morning when I was coming to church I was listening to him about dying to yourself. This is what Jesus did. And in taking communion this was on my mind, “I have to die to myself and give my life to Him and He will complete it. This is the time for me to let Him take control of everything in my life.”

Ms. Annie…

I heard Brother Keith Moore say, “The suffering as Christians we have is not with sickness, disease, or poverty. We don’t suffer from the curse. The suffering that we have is the suffering of not having our way, of giving our way to His way. How many times I’ve fallen down in tears and said, ‘Lord I am requesting a transfer!’ and it comes back ‘denied.’”

Talking about the water turning to wine, Mary said to the servants “whatever He tells you, do it.” But what feels like suffering at the moment, it may feel like “what? Do I have to?” But there is so much joy on the other side of it. There is so much joy when we obey Him because He is love and He loves us. Isn’t that the truth? Hallelujah.

Brother DJ shared…

I want to share about something that happened this morning and how the Pastor is influencing the city of Minneapolis. I was at Perkins for a men’s breakfast. We have been doing this for 20 years every Tuesday at 6 a.m. You know we believe in long term relationships. When we got to the counter to pay, we saw through the window a man sitting on a bench outside. The cops had come and they were ministering to him. He was recovering from the night before. A woman was just coming in from outside and she commented “Yes, it happened to me too. I took a Benadryl last night and now my eyes are all puffed up.” I said “Really?” Then she said “What are you guys doing here?” I said “We are from Living Word and we have a Bible Study every Tuesday morning.” Amazed she said “Oh, do you know what? I just came from my home listening to Pastor Mac’s Winner’s Minute.” She shared with us what Pastor Mac said. He said “No matter what happens, love your wife.”

And how many times do people come to Perkins and talk about what Pastor Mac said this morning? I said “Wow. I have been going to this church for 27 years. Why don’t you come to our church? It seems like God is speaking to you through the pastor. And the next thing you know here we are, people from Living Word, talking to you. How many times can that happen?”

Between the two of us, first Pastor Mac speaking through the Winner’s Minute and then my talking to her, she said “I am willing to come to Church.” Wow, how much influence from one minute in the morning.

Continued praying…

Lord, we thank You so much for this opportunity to be with You
To come together as Your body in one accord
And lift our praises to You and lift our hearts to You
We worship You, we adore You, we honor You
We thank You for Who You are and all that You are and all that You’ve done and are doing in our lives
We lift up and plead the blood of Jesus over this United States of America
We thank You for Your plan for this nation
That we are going in Your way and going in Your plans
We are Your people called by Your name, humbling ourselves before You
Praying and seeking Your face and turning from our wicked ways
And You said that You will hear from heaven and You will heal our land and forgive our sins
Lord, we are asking You for healing for this land
Heal all the broken waste places, the broken families, the broken hearts, the broken thinking
In every place, Lord, we send Your blood now, over the broken things, over the dark places now
Father, we are asking You to turn things around now!
Turn around this nation, Lord, by the power of Jesus’ name!
By the power of Your blood – turn this nation around!
Lord, we put You in remembrance of all the words of covenant that were spoken over this land when it was founded , words that this nation belongs to You
And, Father, You said through Your prophet that You chose Israel because You love them but that this nation was formed by people who chose You because they love You!
And You will not forget it! Its precious to You, Father!
You will not forget the blood and the tears and the sowing and the giving that have gone forth
That there would be a nation that would serve You, that would live for You, that would honor You
Father, we proclaim that over the United States of America
That there would be healing in this land
We plead the blood of Jesus now over our president, Supreme Court, Senators, over our Congressmen and over the elections that are soon to take place
Father, we ask You to turn the hearts of this people that they would want to vote for righteousness
That they would want to vote for truth, that they would want to vote to push this nation off the wrong track and into the right track in Jesus’ name
We are asking for an awakening Lord – awaken this people to righteousness
Awaken the people of this nation to Your truth and Your ways
We pray for kings and rulers and all in authority Lord that we may lead a quiet and a peaceable life in all godliness and honesty
We are asking for godliness to rule in this nation, we are asking for HONESTY to rule in this land!
Honesty in our rulers and honesty in the people!
Godliness in the rulers, godliness in the people in Jesus’ name
Lord, let it begin with us, let it begin in our hearts, Lord
We rend our hearts and not our garments, Lord
Father, we humble ourselves before You – put Your search light upon us, cleanse us from anything that is hindering, from anything that is standing in the way
And we thank You that we are cleansed by the blood of Jesus
We are calling for the fire of God to fall and move, the wind of God to blow in this nation
From the highest of the high to the lowest of the low – let there be great searching’s of heart among Your people that they would see You, whom they have pierced
Lord, that we have pierced You through our unbelief and our turning away from Your laws and Your ways
But we now turn to Your laws and Your way, Lord!
Shall not the God of all the earth do right?
There are more than 10 of us here pleading by the blood of Jesus
There are more than 10 of us, Father, and we are asking You to intervene now in the United States
Give us a godly government; give us more time for the harvest to come in
That we would know the truth that comes from Your Word
We continue in Your Word and we know Your truth and it’s Your truth that sets us free
It’s by Your truth this nation is free!
It’s by Your truth that Your people are free!

Ms. Annie…

When Pastor Ray first asked me if I would lead prayer this morning, the first thing that was coming up out of me was “oh, no I can’t do that.” And then instantly I heard Jesus voice and He said “It’s just hanging out with Me and with My other friends.” Then I was “Yes.” It’s such an honor to hang out with Him and you all every day. And you know the things that we are speaking forth about our nation and about our families and about our lives, those words, His Words in our mouth are just as powerful as His Words in His mouth. So, we know the things that we have spoken and the things we have declared, they are working. His Word is working! His Words are working in us. His Words are working through us! And His Words are bringing change to this nation in Jesus’ name. Amen.
