Prayer Summary for January 16

The following excerpt is taken from Contact With God by Jeanne Wilkerson:

Intercession is not strange. Despite what some people may think, it isn’t outlandish. Intercession is simply bringing two beings together who are separated by differences.

God illustrated this “bringing together” in His Word: God and man were once separated by sin. Therefore, it was necessary for One who knew both parties to bring the two back together into harmony and relationship. As you know, Jesus performed this function.

In the same way, intercessory prayer reconciles God to man. Intercession is the prayer by which one reconciles two parties. When an intercessor prays, he or she brings two parties who are separated by differences back together again. But intercession isn’t a formula.

Do you know why the Gospel writers did not discuss Christ’s prayer life in detail? Have you ever wondered why we don’t even know much about how Jesus prayed? The answer is that God didn’t want any of us to cut out a mold and say, “If you don’t do it this way, you’re not doing it right.” In other words, there is not just one correct way to pray.

The act of prayer is as unique, intricate, and beautiful as God Himself. Hallelujah! Therefore, it is wrong to tell people that if they don’t pray like you do, they’re not praying correctly. That is simply not true!

If the universal church of the living God focused all the tributaries of prayer that flow from the main stream of God into the world today, we could turn the world right side up in no time. That is the truth! There is unfathomable power in prayer.

I sense that we Christians today have never yet realized the power at our command through prayer. Through the powerful release of prayer, for example, we can influence the world system and bring to pass the multitudinous promises and blessings of God!

For every promise, there must be a day of fulfillment. It isn’t enough to keep talking about the promise. We must see the promise come to pass!

Do you know why we need to pray? It used to always bother me when Christians talked so much about prayer. I thought, Why do we talk about prayer all the time? What’s the necessity of prayer? Why is prayer so important? And why are we commanded to pray, being assured of its blessings and benefits? Why? There has to be a reason.

God showed me why, and I’ll tell you. The reason we are commanded to maintain a vital prayer life is so that we can commune with God. When He created man in the beginning, He put him in that perfect paradise known as the Garden of Eden. It was there in the cool of the day God Himself came to earth to walk and talk with man face to face. (Gen. 3:8.) Unfortunately, the vision barrier caused by sin prevents mankind from seeing God. But God has never ceased speaking. When the Holy Spirit of the living God was poured out on the Day of Pentecost, He began to remove the sound barrier so man could hear His voice.

Likewise, because of sin, our eyes are incapable of seeing God. Consequently, we can no longer meet with Him face to face as we once could before sin entered in.

Now, we must come back into communion with God, talking and walking with Him through the new birth and by the Holy Spirit. Until the day comes again when faith will become sight and we can again walk and talk with God face to face, we must commune with God by faith. In the meantime, the only avenue of seeing Him, hearing Him, and touching Him is by moving with Him in prayer. Hallelujah!

Father, we thank You so much for the connections that You make
We worship You!
Lord, we are sorry for trying to go and do things our own way
Thank You that we can come to You and hear Your voice
We receive Your strength!
Our eyes are looking up to You
We desire to see You face to face!
Father, thank You that You are so approachable!
You said, “Come!”
Thank You that You made a way
You are the living God!
Lord, Your heart is so full of compassion and life
You are the author of our lives
We will finish our race!
Forgive us for looking to other things to fill our needs
Our heart is to not look or partake of the things of this world but receiving the very sustenance of life from You alone!
Help us to be vessels of honor producing great fruit for You
Our ability is nothing apart from You!
Father, thank You that You have not deceased in Your grandeur and majesty
Your presence is boiling over into this world!
Thank You for Your mercy and grace

The following prophecy by Kenneth E. Hagin was read during Morning Prayer:

Don’t draw back, don’t draw back, don’t draw back, don’t draw back! The time is near, the time is at hand. No longer can you wait; no longer can you procrastinate. No longer can you say, “yea, in another day I’ll consecrate. In a later day, I will wait on the Lord more. In another day, I will spend more time with Him. In another day, I will put my flesh under.”

No longer, no longer. Don’t draw back and don’t pull back.

The Spirit of the Lord pleads with you. Come forward, move forward. Answer the call you hear in your heart. Respond unto the Spirit of God. It is not bad, it is good. It is not bad, it is good.

The price that would be paid in the flesh is nothing compared to the glory which shall be revealed. It is not bad. Do not dread it. Do not draw back from it.

It is a lie. It’s a deception that has held you back. It’s a lie. It’s a deception that has caused you to draw back. Go on in. Taste and see that the Lord is good.

Oh the treasures of the things He has laid up for you. The things that your heart is hungry for. Nothing else will satisfy your soul. Nothing else will give you the answer in your heart. Nothing else will make you feel complete. Nothing else will satisfy what you seek. Nothing else! Nothing else! Nothing! Nothing!

Oh, push in. Respond unto the Spirit of God. Just lay those other things aside. Lay those things aside. Humble the pride and fall before Him and wait upon Him. And as you do, your soul will blossom. Your spirit will spring forth. Yea, you will be a greater blessing unto your spouse. You’ll be a greater blessing unto your family because you will bloom forth. And you won’t be restricted like before. And you won’t be vexed like before. And you won’t be hindered like before.

Yea, you’ve done some things for them. You’ve drawn back and you said it was for them. But you have not been a blessing to them in that the full blessing of the Lord was not upon thee.

But if you shall press in though, it might seem to cost that price in the beginning, it might seem like it costs you. It might seem like it costs them. Yea, but that’s the only way to get to the things that they desire and the things that you desire and the things that are needed. Yea, the things that must be in this hour, it cannot be delayed. It cannot be delayed. It cannot be delayed. It must be now. Now, now is the time. Now is the time! Now is the time.

So heed the call of the Spirit’s cry in your heart. Don’t say, “I’ll do it by and by.” But the time is now. Do not dread or fear. It is good. Taste and see that the Lord is good.

Don’t think it’s too high a price. It’s nothing in comparison to the light and the glory that shall be revealed. Draw nigh unto him. He shall draw nigh unto thee. Seek His face. He shall reveal Himself unto thee even in a greater way. And you shall rise up and you shall be enabled to be a far greater blessing. And your later end shall exceed and it shall overflow and it shall be abundant in blessing and glory and grace.

And the evil one that thought you to deter and thought to lie to you and keep you from it, you shall look at him and you shall say, “Ha ha ha ha ha ha…
“Your plan did not work ha ha ha ha ha…
“It did not succeed ha ha ha ha ha ha…
“I did not believe it ha ha ha ha ha ha…
“I obeyed ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha…
“I ran my course ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha…
“I finished my job ha ha ha ha ha ha ha…

And those things that once held you, those things that for years, years, years deceived you and held you out; you shall look at them in triumph. You shall look at them from that higher place. And they shall seem nothing to thee. They shall seem small and despised in your eyes. You shall look upon them in dismay and you shall say, “Ha ha ha ha ha ha …“ You shall see far ha ha ha ha …. And you shall know well, and you shall move sure, and shaken shall be hell. And their power shall be confused for His authority you’ve used. And that which they greatly feared shall have happened.

For they feared, they feared that the revelation of truth would come into the earth. They feared that it would come through the heavenly host that would withstand it. They feared that someone would stand. They feared that someone would seek. They feared that someone would penetrate. Because when the revelation comes, the truth doth set the captives free. And that which they have greatly feared, it shall even come to pass. It’ll come to pass. It’ll come to pass. It’ll come to pass. It shall come to pass. It shall come to pass.

God shall reveal His truth unto His people. Yea, we’ve rejoiced in the light. And we’ve seen a little bit. And we moved, but oh, there’s so much more. There’s so much more. There’s so much more.

And the enemy would have us just revel in what we see and what we know and not push and penetrate to hold fast to receive more. But it shall not be for a glimpse we do see. And we shall not be satisfied until the truth in our hearts abides.

We shall not draw back and we shall not fear until we have it all that God would give year by year. Increasing glory to glory, light to light. Not doing it in the flesh but by the good faith fight.

And His plan shall be accomplished and His ways shall be straight. And then it shall be ready. He shall come. He’ll not be late. And His people shall have done His bidding and His people shall have heard His voice. And His Spirit shall have reaped the harvest through the church and His people shall rejoice.

He calleth thee higher. He calleth thee higher. Continue to look down on lowly things on theground but look up and see what he has reserved for thee. And by faith, let your heart reach out and grasp and let his spirit lift you up. Then at last you shall see what your eyes have longed to see. You shall sense what your heart has craved, hungered to sence. You shall know what your mind has hungered to know. You shall do what you were created to do.

Continued Praying…

That is our heart, Father, that we would be what Your have created us to be
Father, we are looking for the strength to obey
That we may draw others unto You
We thank You that the rain of Your Spirit would fall in a great measure
The ministry of Your Spirit drawing us unto You!
You have put no limitations on how close we can be to You
There are prayers that must be prayed
By Your Spirit, we must know how to go
Seeing the body of Christ coming together and seeking the face of the one and only one God—You!
Father, thank You that it was Your plan all along to be connected with You
We see it is up to each one of us to stand in the gap for others to have a connection with You!
Help us to not always turn inward, but to pray outward
We thank You for the times that we can bring You to others
Thank You for the fresh drink we received today!
We will never be the same for Your presence goes with us
With You, we can bring help on the scene!
