Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today

Pastor Dustin…

Welcome to morning prayer, everyone. My name is Dustin. I’m the Next Gen Pastor here at Living Word. And I just want to thank you for being here.

I’m reminded of a verse that I’ve been looking at a lot lately. I don’t know if you ever have this happen where it’s like you see a verse and it’s like you kind of see it for the first time and you can’t stop looking at it. I feel like there’s more to it.

It’s in Ephesians 1:17. It says, “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation so that you may know Him better.” So that you may know him “better.” In different translations, it phrases it differently. But I like how it says it here in the NIV. “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation so that you may know him better.” So that you may know Him better.

You can know Him better…

I love that for a lot of reasons. One of them being, there’s no limit to this. You can’t ever say, “I did this verse.” Or “that’s over now,” or “I got it!” It says that you may know Him better. So, no matter how well you know Him, you can know Him better. No matter how close you are to Him, you can be closer. And no matter how much insight and revelation you have in the Word of God, all of that is… like the highest thing you could do with that is know Him better.

I heard a story that Brother Hagin used to read Ephesians one and Ephesians three, and he would pray these prayers and he got all of this insight and revelation in God’s Word. And so I would read these chapters and these prayers over and over again so that I could get more insight and revelation in His Word. And so I’m praying this and I’m reading this and it’s like, “Give me the spirit of wisdom and revelation.” Why? So that I can know you better. And I just missed that whole, “so that I can know you better” part. It was just “give me more insight,” “give me more of a revelation so that I can preach better…” “so that I can have more to say when I have a microphone in my hand…” “so that I can ‘wow’ people know…”

No! So that I can know Him better.

And so let that just kind of set your sail in that direction with that expectation. We want to know Him better, right? That’s our prayer this morning. So let’s just agree together.

Prayed…

Father, our heart, our prayer, we keep asking that you would grant us, that you would give to us a spirit of wisdom and revelation so that we can know you better. You’re the source, you’re the supply, you’re the centerpiece.

There’s nothing greater than you.
There’s no trophy we could win that’s better than you.
There’s no promotion we could get that’s better than you.
There’s no amount of money that we could have that’s better than you.
You are you. You’re it.

And if we’ve put other things before you, Father, I pray that you would clear our vision. Help us strip off every unnecessary weight that would try to cling to and entangle us and help us run our race with patient endurance, keeping our eyes fixed on you.

I’m going to pray some verses in the Bible…

Father, we thank you that you are our shepherd, and we shall not be in want, that you make us lie down in green pastures. You lead us besides quiet waters. You restore our souls. You guide us in passive righteousness for your namesake. Even though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we fear no evil for you are with us. Your staff and your rod, they comfort us. You prepare a table before us in the presence of our enemies. You anoint our heads with oil. Our cup overflows and surely goodness and love will follow us all the days of our lives and we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Psalm 27

The Lord is our light and our salvation. Whom shall we fear? The Lord is the stronghold of our life, of whom shall we be afraid? When evil men advance against us to devour our flesh, when our enemies and our foes attack us, they will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege us, our hearts will not fear. The war break out against us, even then, we will be confident. One thing we ask of the Lord, this is what we seek. That we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever, all the days of our lives, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and seek Him in His temple. For in the day of trouble, He will keep us safe. In His dwelling, He will hide us in the shelter of His tabernacle. He will set us high upon a rock, then our head will be exalted above the enemies that surround us. We will be confident in this. We will see the goodness of the Lord and the land of the living. Wait for the Lord. Be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Psalm 46

God is our refuge and our strength, an ever present help and trouble. Therefore, we will not fear though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea. Though the waters roar and foam in the mountains quake with their surging, there is a river whose streams may glad the city of God, the holy place where the most high dwells. God is within her. She will not fall. God will help her at break of day. Nations are an uproar. Kingdoms fall. He lifts His voice and the earth melts. The Lord Almighty is with us. The God of Jacob is our fortress. Come and see the works of the Lord, the desolations He has brought on the earth. He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear. He burns the shields with fire. Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord Almighty is with us. The God of Jacob is our fortress.

Psalm 47

Clap your hands all you nations. Shout to God with cries of joy. How awesome is the Lord most high? The great King over all the earth. He subdued nations under us, peoples under our feet. He chose our inheritance for us. The pride of Jacob, whom He loved. The Lord amid the surrounding of trumpets. Sing praises to God. Sing praises. Sing praises to our King. Sing praises. For God is the king of all the earth. Sing to Him a psalm of praise. God reigns over the nations. God is seated on His holy throne. The nobles of the nations assemble as the people of the God of Abraham for the kings of the earth belong to God and He is greatly exalted.

Psalm 91

He who dwells in the shelter of the most high. I’ll just say it like this: we who dwell in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. We will say of the Lord, He is our refuge and our fortress, our God in whom we trust. We trust in God. Our trust is in Him. Our hope is in Him. Our confidence is in Him. Surely He will save us from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover us with His feathers and under His wings, we will find refuge. His faithfulness will be our shield and our rampart. We will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at our side and 10,000 at our right hand, but it will not come near us. We will only observe with our eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. We will make the Most High our dwelling place. Even the Lord who is our refuge, then no harm will befall us.

No disaster will come near our tent.
No disaster will come near Living Word.
No disaster will come near your home.
No disaster will come near your family.
No disaster will come near you in Jesus’ name.

For He will command His angels concerning us to guard us in all of our ways. They will lift us up in their hands so that we will not even strike our foot against a stone. We will tread upon the lion and the cobra. We will trample the great lion and the serpent. Because He loves us.

Verse 14

Because He loves me, says the Lord, I will rescue him. I will protect him for he acknowledges My name. He will call upon Me and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him. With long life, I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.

Psalm 103, in the ESV.

Bless the Lord O my soul and all that is within me. Bless His holy name. Bless the Lord O my soul. And forget not all His benefits. Who forgives all of your iniquities, who heals all of your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagles.

The Lord works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed. He may know in His way to Moses, His acts to the people of Israel. The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. He will not always chide, nor will He keep His anger forever. He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our inequities, for as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His steadfast love towards those who fear Him. Ss far as the east is from the west so far does He remove our transgressions from us. As the Father shows compassion to his children so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear Him. For He knows our frame. He remembers that we are dust. As for man, his days are like grass. He flourishes like a flower of the field, for the wind passes over it and it is gone and its place knows it no more. But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him and His righteousness to children’s children, to keep those who keep His covenant and remember to do His commandments. The Lord has established His throne in the heavens and His kingdom’s rule overall. Bless the Lord, O you His angels. You mighty ones who do His word, obeying the voice of His word. Bless the Lord, all His hosts. His ministers who do His will. Bless the Lord all His works in all places of His dominion. Bless the Lord. Oh my soul. Oh my soul.
