Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist

Pastor Jim…

The Bible says in Proverbs 4, “Get skillful and godly wisdom.” In other words, you can have it if you try to get it… get understanding, which is discernment, comprehension, interpretation. Interpreting someone, they’re saying one thing, but you interpret what’s really being said and what’s really being felt.

“Do not forget and do not turn back from the words of my mouth. Forsake not wisdom.”

It calls her a she. And you’ll see that she’s a spirit. We’re going to see that she’s a spirit and she’s a she. So I guess that makes her a she spirit.

She will keep, defend, and protect you. Talking about wisdom. It says to love her and she will guard you. Forsake not wisdom. She will keep, defend, and protect love. She will keep, defend, and protect you. She will defend you. Wisdom will defend you. The spirit will defend you. “Love her and she will guard you.” The beginning of wisdom is get… you got to get it. Get wisdom. What’s that? It’s skillful and godly wisdom.

There’s different types of wisdom…

The book of James talks about a devilish wisdom. “Skillful and godly wisdom is the principle thing. With all you have gotten, get understanding.” Get the wisdom, and then you can have the understanding. All understanding always comes second. That’s discernment. Comprehending things, interpreting things.

Verse eight, “Prize wisdom highly and exalt wisdom. And she will exalt you and promote you. She’ll bring to you honor. When you embrace wisdom, the spirit of wisdom, she shall give to your head a wreath of gracefulness.” That’s physical. “A crown of beauty,” something else that’s physical. “And glory, will she deliver to you. Hear O my son and receive my sayings. The years of your life shall be many. I have taught you in the way of skillful and godly wisdom.” And here it defines skillful and godly wisdom in the Hebrew, which is comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God. You can know.

“I have led you in paths of uprightness. When you walk, your steps shall not be hampered. Your path will be clear and open. When you run, you will not stumble when you’re in a hurry.”

New Testament says about wisdom…

What does the New Testament say about it. Look at James 1:5, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God that gives to all men liberally and upbraideth not. And it shall be given to him.” He says you can have it liberally. It says to ask for wisdom. It says in Proverbs, if you embrace wisdom, if you exalt wisdom, if you prize wisdom… how do you embrace it? Exalt it. Prize it.

Solomon asked for it…

He could have had anything. He asked for it. You have to pray for it. If you pray for it, what does it do for you? It guards you. It promotes you. It honors you. It gives you a wreath of gracefulness. What’s that? That’s displaying grace or beauty in form or in action. Your movements, the way you look, the actions you take will be graceful. It gives you a crown of beauty and glory. It delivers you out of situations. It extends the years of your life. It makes your path clear, and it says that it will keep you from stumbling.

The apostle Paul prayed for the church at Ephesus. This is what he prayed. And he prayed it for the church at Colossians. He prayed twice for the church at Ephesus… Ephesians one and three. And he was really instructing us how to pray, saying “This is how you pray.” This is how you pray for yourself. This is how you pray for your kids. This is how you pray for your church. This is how you pray for other Christians.

Ephesians 1:16 says, “I do not cease to give thanks for you.” Have you ever given thanks for someone unceasingly? And he makes mention of them in his prayers. Unceasingly. What does he do? What does he say unceasingly for the church at Ephesus? He says, “I always pray for you unceasingly (verse 17) to the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory that he would grant unto us a spirit.” It’s a spirit. That you can have it or you cannot have it… “of wisdom and revelation, of insight.” What’s that? Insight into mysteries and secrets and the deep and intimate knowledge of Him.

So let’s pray for wisdom. And then as we pray, there are going to be times that I go into tongues, and I assume most people in here pray in tongues.

I want to make sure that we come from… if we could put the sculpture up… This is what our faith is in. It’s not how much we know. It’s not how much we go to church. It’s not in how many chapters a day we do a day. It’s not even how many hours we pray in tongues a day. So your faith can turn to that. Your faith can turn to those things and your faith is in the things you’re doing or the things that you don’t do. You don’t do all these things.

And so we come from the cross here knowing that He died. Put the sculpture up. This is not something we worship, but we keep it… Paul said to the Corinthians, I just want you aware of this. I’m here to make you aware of this, to put this into your consciousness. And it wasn’t complete. It’s not one without the other. It all comes, what we’re praying today, from this act.

Prayed…

And so, Father, we ask you in the name of Jesus Christ that you would grant unto us the spirit of wisdom and revelations into mysteries and secrets in the deep and intimate knowledge of you.

Maranatha is getting underway, we ask that you give the teachers and the staff wisdom, all day, every day, in and out of the classrooms. Insight into mysteries and secrets in regard to what those kids, teenagers, and children have been through.
