Morning Chapel Prayer Today
Pastor Ken…
Well, good morning, everyone. Pastor Heather couldn’t be here this morning, but I am. So my name is Ken, if you didn’t know. Welcome. Happy 1st of October 2026. My goodness, here we go. The last quarter of 2026 is upon us already.
Intro…
Today we’re going to pray and we’re going to continue to stand and to agree and to intercede and to pray for what God has in mind for the church, for this generation, for our nation, and beyond. I thought I would share a couple of things that I have not gotten to yet. I started reading a few of these verses, I think either Monday or Wednesday, but these are truths from God’s Word regarding answered prayer. So if you need a boost or just a simple reminder of the power of prayer, of “the why” behind “the what,” we do as pray-ers, let me just remind you of these few simple verses found in Scripture. But I pray that this will inject some faith into your soul and just put you in remembrance of what God says about answered prayer.
John 14:13 says…
“And whatsoever you shall ask in my name, that will I do that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”
John 15:7 says…
“If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will,” or what you desire, “and it shall be done unto you.”
John 16:23 states…
“And in that day,” Jesus actually said this, “…you shall ask me nothing. For verily, verily, I say unto you, whatever you shall ask the Father in my name, He will give it you.”
Hebrews 4:16 says…
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
Psalm 37:4 says…
“Delight thyself also in the Lord and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” What a good promise, right? Delight yourself in the Lord.
Your spirit wants to delight in the Lord…
This is a good day to delight ourselves in the Lord. It may feel unreasonable, uncomfortable, inconvenient to our flesh, to our lower nature, but make no mistake about it, your spirit wants to give glory to God, wants to delight in the Lord. And in doing so, we are vibing. We’re connecting with what God wants to do in our lives and making it possible.
Psalm 91:15 says…
“He shall call upon me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble, and I will answer them and honor them.”
Psalm 145:18–19 says…
“The Lord is near unto them that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of them that fear Him. He will also hear their cry and will save them.”
Proverbs 15:20–29 says…
“The Lord is far from the wicked, but He heareth the prayer of the righteous.”
Are there any righteous listening to me right now? I believe there is.
Jeremiah 33:3 says…
“Call unto me and I will answer thee and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not.”
Matthew 6:6 says…
“But thou when thou prayest enter into thy closet. And when you shut the door, pray to the Father, which is in secret, and your Father, which is in secret, shall reward thee openly.”
1 John 3:22 says…
“And whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.”
1 John 5:14–15 says…
“And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.”
Quote from book, “The Blood and the Glory,” by Billye Brim…
Now let me read something to you. It’s an excerpt from Dr. Billy Brim’s book, “The Blood and the Glory.”
She writes…
“Stanley Fransheim, biographer of Smith Wigglesworth and longtime editor of the Pentecostal Evangel, wrote in an editorial, ‘It is written, they overcame by the blood of the Lamb. They overcame hell’s dragon with the simple weapon of heaven’s Lamb. When the dragon seeks to overcome you, take him to Calvary, where through that sacred blood his power was brought to nothing. Magnify that blood and the Lamb who shed the blood. Give bold testimony to the power of the blood.’”
John Osteen, former pastor of Lakewood Church, Houston, TX…
“Speaking of bold testimony, John Osteen, formerly pastor of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas…” Of course, that’s Joel Osteen’s Father; he’s gone home to be with the Lord. “…is boldness personified. I heard a minister say about him, ‘The devil says every morning when John Osteen arises, ‘Oh no, he’s up again.’”
Let that be said about us, right? “Oh no, she’s up again. Oh my gosh. Everybody get ready. We’ve got a problem on our hands. They’re a problem.”
That’s our goal, right? To be a problem to the kingdom of darkness, a problem to the enemy’s plans, and a cheat code in God’s hand.
“Brother Osteen’s comments on Revelation 12:11 inspire boldness to all who read them in his book, ‘Unraveling the Mystery of the Blood Covenant,’ where he writes, ‘The blood of Jesus says you have victory. After you become a covenant person, Revelation 12:10 takes on new meaning. It tells you how you can overcome the Devil. You overcome him by three things.
“First, the blood of the Lamb. When the Devil comes against you, hold up your Bible and say to him, ‘Devil, I want you to see this. This is God’s everlasting blood covenant that Jesus cut for me. Christ’s righteousness has been imparted to me. All of God’s power and blessings are mine. I command and charge you, Satan, look at that blood. You are already defeated.’”
That’s a good reminder here on a Thursday morning to start off the month of October.
“Second, they overcame by the word of their testimony. You can boldly say, ‘Satan, I dare to stand on God’s promises. It is written. They are tried and proven. I am a covenant person, and God will not break His Word with me.’
“Third, they loved not their lives unto death. These Christians made unqualified commitment to God. All God had was theirs, and all they had was His. They were covenant men, covenant women. They were willing to even sacrifice their own lives if necessary to live for Jesus and tell others about the way of living.
“You don’t overcome Satan by your tenacity.
“You don’t overcome him by your good works.
“You don’t overcome him by your goodness.
“You don’t overcome him by your own holiness.
“You don’t overcome him by your mental agility.
“You overcome him by the blood of Jesus Christ.
“Just present that blood to Satan and say, ‘See the blood, Devil. The one who shed this blood crushed your head and took your power. He’s my Lord.’ Yes, the blood of Jesus speaks to you today. It cries out, ‘You are justified.’ You are redeemed. You have peace. You are God’s property. You have eternal salvation.”
Pastor Ken adds…
And I would add to that eternal purpose. You’re here sent into this place called time and space with a divine destiny and purpose to make a difference in and through your life, your prayers, each and every day, for that matter. You have eternal salvation. You are clean. I like to say you are totally loved and completely acceptable and altogether lovely to Him.
You might say, “Well, I don’t see that, Ken, in the mirror.”
See your reflection in the Word of God…
Well, you don’t have to see it in your natural mirror. You can see it in the mirror of the Word of God. The great mystery of redemption is that when you see Jesus, you’re looking at yourself. You’re not Jesus, but you’re His younger brother, His younger sister. And when you’ve accepted and received His work of propitiation on your behalf, then you take on Him. You take on the attributes that He obtained and purchased and paid for through His perfect and sinless life.
By faith, you step into Jesus each and every day. You don’t look at your past. You don’t look at your old, raggedy, inconsistent self. We must get up every day and look to the Word. Let our eyes spiritually peer into the perfect law of liberty, the Holy Bible, and see that Him… I quoted this on Wednesday, “Him who knew no sin became sin that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
We are transformed from glory to glory…
And it’s as we look into that perfect law of liberty that we’re changed, that we’re transformed from glory to glory, one day after another. You never arrive to the place where you can’t look to the Word, where you can’t be nourished up on words of faith, where you can’t be peering intently and captivated by the Word of God, because it’s transformative. It has DNA that is sown into your heart when you feed on it, when you look at it, when you speak it, that changes you from the inside out and becomes the ultimate difference maker.
So you are clean by the Word…
The Bible says we’re washed by the Word. You have eternal salvation. You are clean, you are washed, and you have victory. On the wisdom of God and the greatness of His wisdom, how unsearchable are His ways. How mighty is His wisdom for the human race and His love for man.
Finally, he writes…
“Do not limit the power of the blood of Christ to what you understand. There is no greater mystery in the Christian life than the worth and power of the blood. Apply it by faith. Be a child who practices, ‘the sprinkling of the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.’ Sprinkle it anywhere. There is evidence of pressure, tension, or any kind of satanic effort…” or wherever you’re maybe experiencing harassment or depression, or thoughts about failure, or the enemy reminds you of your past. You just change it up and say, “Devil, I remind you of your future.” It doesn’t look good. It looks pretty dark from my perspective right here in the Word of God.
Or use it against any satanic effort to thwart the complete will of God in your life. God wants it for a witness, “And to Jesus, the mediator of the New Covenant and to the blood of sprinkling that speaketh better things,” (Hebrews 12:24).
Praise the Lord, the blood speaks!
