Well, good morning, everyone. My name is Dustin. I’m the Next Gen Pastor here at Living Word, and on behalf of our senior pastors, Pastor Jim, and our founding pastors, Pastors Mac and Lynne, welcome to morning prayer. We’re glad that you’re here.
We all have a supply to bring…
I’ll read a couple of passages from scripture that have been on my heart lately. When I say a couple passages, I mean roughly one chapter. It’s out of Hebrews 11, and we’ll just do what we believe the Lord’s leading us to do. Pastor Kent used to be our missions pastor here at Living Word, and he used to say, “If we all do what the Lord’s telling us to do, we’ll accomplish everything that we need to.” And I like that perspective. We all have a supply to bring, and I believe the Lord will speak to us, and He’ll work through us today, and we’ll accomplish things. We’re not just here to feel better. We’re not here to check a box. We’re here to get stuff done, right?
Prayed…
Father, we put our attention and focus on You this morning.
We’re going to make the decision to look away from everything that would try to distract us.
We’re going to put our attention on You.
We thank You that this is the day that You have made.
And so we make the decision to rejoice and to be glad in it.
We set our expectation.
We believe that we are a part of the greatest move that the world has ever seen.
We believe that there is revival happening now.
We believe that there is an outpouring that’s happening now.
And we believe that it’s going to continue to get brighter and stronger in Jesus’ name.
And we believe that it’s going to touch Living Word in a way that we’ve never seen before.
We believe that You have reserved the greatest moves for the latter days.
And so we thank You, Father, for everything that this ministry has seen thus far.
But we know that it’s just a precursor to what’s ahead.
We know that there is a great move reserved for this generation and for these saints and for this ministry.
And so we just look forward to it.
We thank You for it, and we believe that we are in it, and we’re going to see it in Jesus’ name.
Victory!
Before we worship, when I was praying, I was just reminded of this. I was looking up the word “victory.” I was doing this Bible memorization thing a little while ago, and I was just trying to memorize verses on victory. And the Greek word used for victory is found more in the book of Revelation than any other book in the New Testament. It’s not even close. I think it’s like 16 or 17 times. And which book are we living in right now? We’re living in the book of Revelation, and that tells me that we’re living in the greatest season of victory the New Testament church has ever seen, right?
The Devil has lost…
And so the Devil would love to convince you otherwise. He would love to make you think that you’re losing, and it’s only going to get worse. And your loss will be complete here real soon. But that’s his story. He’s losing. He’s lost. And his loss will be finalized coming up here real quick.
We’ve won!
For us, it’s the exact opposite. We’ve won! Our victory is in Christ Jesus, and we’re experiencing that victory as long as we’re here on this planet. And soon and very soon, we’re going to go to heaven and just celebrate this whole thing and step into the biggest promotion and season of glory we’ve ever seen in our lives, right? And so don’t let him get our fates confused, right? He knows where he’s going. We know where we’re going. And we know what we have left to do while we’re here on this earth.
Definitions of the word “victory…”
Talked a little bit about the definition of victory. Couple of definitions: Decisive triumph, victory, conquest. It paints this picture of just a decisive, complete victory. What we see in scripture. There’s no part that’s left undone. Complete.
A look at Hebrews 11…
Let’s look at Hebrews chapter 11. I’m just going to read a few passages just to build up your faith. We’ll get us all on the same track, and then we’ll let ‘er rip. We’ll pray in tongues for a while and just declare what we feel like the Lord’s leading us to declare.
Hebrews 11 says…
“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the Word of God, so that what is seen was made out of things that are visible.”
So that’s how this whole thing started. The way that everything that we know was even created was things that are now seen were made out of things that were unseen. That same thing will happen in your life with God.
“By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks. By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found because God had taken him up. Now before he was taken, he was commended as having pleased God. And without faith it is impossible to please Him. For whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists,” one, “and that he rewards those who seek Him.”
Are you glad that we serve a God that rewards? He’s a rewarder. We’re not stepping out in faith so that He doesn’t hit us with a stick or strike us with lightning. No, He rewards.
“By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.
“By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.
“By faith he went to live in the land of promise as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God.
“By faith Sarah received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised. Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born descendants as many as the stars of heaven and many as innumerable grains of sand by the seashore.
“These all died in faith, not having received the things promised, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth. For people who speak thus make it clear that they are seeking a homeland. If they had been thinking of that land from which they had gone out, they would have had the opportunity to return. But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared for them a city.
“By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises was in the act of offering up his only son, of whom it was said, ‘Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.’ He considered that God was able even to raise him from the dead, from which figuratively speaking, he did receive him back.”
It goes through and talks about even more people. But then in verse 32, it says…
“What more shall I say? For time would fail me to tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Japheth, and David, and Samuel, and the prophets who through faith…”
This is what their faith did.
“Who through faith conquered kingdoms.”
I mean, let’s just raise our expectation this morning. What can faith do?
“Through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice.”
I mean, how many people look at the news and just feel like there’s such injustice, right?
“Enforced justice, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the power of fire.”
Remember Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace?
“Quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, were made strong out of weakness, became mighty in war, and put foreign armies to flight.”
What can faith do? It can put a whole foreign army to flight.
What can faith do? Faith can conquer a kingdom.
So on that note, let’s pray.
