Happy Wednesday, everyone. Good morning, good afternoon. Perhaps it’s evening where you are. Good to see you all. My name is Ken. I thought I would open us up in a prayer here as we set our attention and our affections on Him this morning. When you woke up, He was already being faithful to you, to us. And so we’re so grateful for His presence in our lives. He goes with us. He stays with us. He’s always with us, isn’t He? And I believe today is going to be a display of His goodness in your life and in mine.
Psalms 107:20; He sent His Word and healed them…
As we were worshiping, I was reminded of the passage found in Psalm 107:20. It says, “He sent His Word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” Don’t lose sight of that. In fact, let that be resuscitated and revived in your heart this morning. The fact that He sent His Word, the Living Word, Jesus. He also sent His written Word. We have that in His book, right? And contained in His Word is all that we need.
It’s easy to get caught up in the world’s distractions…
I heard a very prophetic woman, very praying woman, known many places around the world, say… I was listening to something she was sharing yesterday, and she was prophetically reminding ministers and followers of Jesus and pray-ers that it’s really easy to get caught up in the age of distraction that we live in and be addicted to social media and our devices and entertainment and the ongoing outflow of content that bombards us each and every day and lose sight of the fact that the Word is to be our mainstay.
The Word is to be what keeps us nourished…
The Word of God is what we’re to be nourished up on as followers of Jesus, as pray-ers. And, in fact, the answers that we seek and the help that we require in the present season of life we may be in, whatever it is, maybe it’s mental illness that you need deliverance from or a physical ailment. The Bible says that His Word is medicine to all our flesh. It’s nourishment to your soul, your inner life. It is our everything. He sent His Word and delivered and set free and healed them. That Word is relevant today as it was some two to probably 3,000 years ago. So don’t lose sight of that.
The Word must be our primary focus above the distractions…
And this woman went on to say, if we will turn to the Word, or as I said in a recent Wednesday night service, give the Word a second look as pray-ers once again as simply Christians. Because it’s His Word that does the work when we make it a priority. When we make it our primary focus above and beyond social media and other distractions.
We need to feed on His Word…
He sent His Word and He healed them. He has sent His Word to you, and He’s healed you. That’s a spiritual truth… And delivered you. That’s a spiritual truth. Now we need to acknowledge and be a people who feed on His Word.
Our daily manna is the Word…
As it says in, I think, Jeremiah, “Thy words were found, and I did eat them. And your word was the joy and rejoicing of my heart, for I’m called by your name, O Lord God of Hosts.” It’s to be our daily manna. It’s our answer. It’s what we need as pray-ers to be effective.
First, the Word gives us confidence…
In fact, I just was reminded of a few things that the Word does in the life of a pray-er. First, the Word gives us confidence that God hears our prayers, right? Jesus said in John 15:7, “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you desire or wish and it will be done for you.” Oh, you can take that to the bank! That presupposes, though that you abide, live, remain, and dwell in Him and His Words live, abide, remain, and inhabit and dwell in you.
Secondly, the Word teaches us how to pray, right? Luke 11:1. “…as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”
Thirdly, the Word produces faith, and faith is, of course, an essential part of prayer. You all know the verse probably, Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by hearing the Word of God.” But you could also say faith goes by hearing something other than the Word of God. By distractions, let’s say. Certainly, there are things out there that have entertainment value, maybe in the moment. But as I say, they have a very short shelf life. All they do is entertain you for a moment.
The study of the Word brings eternal value…
But when you give time and attention and study and meditation to the promises of God, to the Word of God, now that has eternal value. That is an investment into your life, into your future. That pays dividends not just today but every day here on out. That produces a foundation underneath your feet, so to speak, spiritually and in your life that will serve you when the storms and trials of life come your way.
When you face a challenge that you don’t have a natural answer for, the Word (if you’ve invested it in your heart) will serve you and enable you to come out of that difficulty and that challenging place. The Word, of course, prevents us from yielding to sin and temptation. David said, “I’ve hid your Word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
Fourthly, the Word reveals God’s will; 1 John 5:14, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”
Fifth, the Word keeps our prayers from becoming empty or self-centered, according to James 4:3, “You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.”
Six, neglecting God’s Word hinders our prayers.
Seventh, the Word is spiritual nourishment for a praying believer. I love this verse; Matthew 4:4, “Man shall not live by bread alone,” or natural food, you could say, “but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
Eight, the Word equips us for spiritual warfare in prayer. Of course, this might be familiar, but Ephesians 6:17 says, “Take the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit.”
In other words, take the Word with you when you go into your prayer closet. Take the Word with you when you’re praying as you drive down the road. Wage a good warfare. Fight a good fight with the Word. You can’t fight a good fight with a news report about devastation somewhere in the world. You can’t fight a good fight with the word that some well-meaning Christian said to you that wasn’t so good in some way.
It’s His Word that He’s exalted.
It’s His Word that will hold your life together.
It’s His Word that will minister healing to your flesh when you put it in your heart and you speak it out of your mouth.
Kenneth E. Hagin prophecy…
So I just want to stir you up in that this morning. And then I want to read one other thing to you before we pray here. This is something I return to time and time again. And I haven’t shared anything from this this year here, but it’s a prophetic word given by Brother Kenneth E. Hagin many years ago now. But it’s relevant, and I hope that it stirs you just a little bit as we enter into prayer.
He said this under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit…
“Many are concerned about the future, and they wonder what will happen. Will darkness overtake? Or will light shine bright? ‘Yes,’ says the Lord of Hosts, ‘remember that you’re in My hands.’”
And remember that I know the future better than you know the past and all is well.”

Sometimes that’s a good point of coaching yourself…
When you feel a struggle inside
When you’re tempted to fear
When your mind is trying to freak out on you
Just say to yourself, “All is well. Peace be still. It’s going to be all right.” It may not feel like it. It may not look like it, but that’s okay. You don’t live by what you feel or what you see. You live by what you know or believe in accordance with His Word. And He is saying, “All is well.”
Jesus said, “Do not let your heart be troubled. Neither be afraid.” There will be tribulations, there will be trials but He reminds us today and every day, “I’ve overcome the trial. I’ve overcome the adversity. I’ve overcome anything and everything the enemy would throw at you. I’ve defeated it, and guess what? TAG! I give you…” Jesus says in His Word essentially, “the power to overcome just like I did. I obtained the power to overcome. I purchased authority and I’ve delegated it to you.” That’s what the Word says, right?
Brother Hagin goes on to say…
“I will alert you concerning that which will affect you.”
Okay, antennas up. So there will be things that will affect us. Of course, there will be. Don’t live by accident. Don’t live where you just kind of go through the motion of life. Even today, check yourself. Say, “Lord, what’s up? What are you saying to me? What do I need to know right now in this season of life?”
Don’t live comfortably numb or dumb spiritually. Know that the Spirit of God is on the inside of you for a purpose. He’s there to reveal. The Bible says in the Amplified Classic, “Reveal, transmit, and disclose what you need to know.” But you must put up your spiritual antennas. You must take time to pray in other tongues. It will tune you in to what the Spirit is saying. It will tune you in to what you need to know. Inquiring minds need to know. Or whatever the tabloid saying was.
We must be a people who inquire of the Lord…
Well, we must be a people who inquire of the Lord. The Bible, in fact, commands us to do just that. Incline your ear, inquire of the Lord. Check in with Him. Be open to the revealing of the Holy Spirit. Brother Hagin is saying that the Spirit of God is saying, “I will show you the way to go. And you will walk in it and be blessed above all the people of the world upon the earth; you shall be blessed, for thou art My people and My people shall rule and reign, and the blessings of God will fall upon them. The latter rain shall be poured out.”
I believe that’s happening now. Yes, upon the nations and that are now barren and void. But the rain will be poured out, the seed will be planted, the harvest will come, the glory of God will shine upon the earth, and they of the world will walk on in the way in which they’ve walked. And the darkness shall overtake them. But you shall walk in the light.”
Oh, here’s another promise!
The entrance of His Words giveth light. Walk according to the Word. Walk in the Word. Walk in the Spirit. And the power shall rest upon you.
Do you see that today? That means you! Not just a few select people who hold office of pastor or evangelist or teacher. The power of God shall rest on you.
Do you believe that? Start expecting that. When you go out the door, say, “The power of God is resting on me today. The wisdom of God, the revelation of God is resting on me today wherever I go wherever you go.”
The same power that raised Christ from the dead indwells, lives inside of me and you perpetually. Have that expectation. You’re not going alone today, you’re going with Him. Way more be with you than be with your enemy. Oh, yeah. That’s good. “And the power,” he says, “shall rest upon you. The glory of God shall be seen upon your face. Many shall turn to the Lord.” Great days, great times, great blessings are ahead.”
Somebody grab hold of that.
“So rejoice and be glad. Many are concerned about things that have happened, the terror that has taken hold of many hearts. Many are concerned about war. Many are concerned about the future. Darkness seems to be developing. Dark clouds are on the horizon of time. But, yes, says the Lord of Hosts, walk not by what you see with the physical eye, but walk according to what My Word says.”
In other words, it’s your key instrument for navigation. How you’ve lived up until now is not how you can live going forward. You must have your device, your instrument of navigation, and that is His Word.
“Walk according to what the Holy Spirit is saying to you, for He’s speaking unto many hearts. And they walk on in the natural and pay no attention to their hearts. He’s speaking to many spirits. They walk on in the realm of the mental, thinking their own thoughts, planning their own way. But, yes, says the Lord of Hosts, listen to what the Spirit is saying to your heart, to your spirit, and what He said to you. Act upon it. Act like it’s so. Rejoice and be glad in the face of adversity, in the face of seemingly natural defeat. Because you have inside information, information inside the Word, information given by the Spirit, and it shall come to pass.”
The Word is engineered to turn things around…
So especially if you’re facing what is seemingly a defeat, a terminal diagnosis, a no-hope situation, something that has repeated itself in a negative way in your life, in your mind, in your emotions, in your family, in your marriage maybe, especially in those situations, especially in the most chaotic and hopeless deal that you might be encountering or might encounter in the future, especially in those situations, that’s where the Word is engineered to turn things around. That’s where the Word, when you stand your ground and say to that hopelessness, say to that darkness, say to your own soul, if necessary, where it has become unhinged in some way. Say to it the Word of God. Say to it the promise of God. Say to it what you want it to be or that situation to be transformed into.
