Prayer Summary for July 7

The following excerpt was taken from a commentary on Jude 20 by Charles Spurgeon:

Praying in the Holy Spirit
Jude 20

Mark the grand characteristic of true prayer, “In the Holy Spirit.” Only the prayer which comes from God can go to God. We must shoot the Lord’s arrows back to Him. That desire which He writes upon our heart will move His heart and bring down a blessing, but the desires of the flesh have no power with Him.

• Praying in the Holy Spirit is praying in fervency. Cold prayers ask the Lord not to hear them. Those who do not plead with fervency, plead not at all. As well, speak of lukewarm fire as of lukewarm prayer.

• It is praying perseveringly. The true suppliant gathers force as he proceeds. The longer the gate is closed, the more vehemently does he use the knocker, and the longer the angel lingers the more resolved is he that he will never let him go without the blessing. Beautiful in God’s sight is tearful, agonizing, unconquerable importunity.
• It means praying humbly, for the Holy Spirit never puffs us up with pride. It is His office to convince of sin, and so to bow us down in contrition and brokenness of spirit. Out of the depths must we cry, or we shall never behold glory in the highest.
• It is loving prayer. Prayer should be perfumed with love, saturated with love—love to our fellow saints, and love to Christ.

Moreover, it must be a prayer full of faith. A man prevails only as he believes. The Holy Spirit is the author of faith, and strengthens it, so that we pray believing God’s promise. (CHS)

Praying humbly before You, Father, as children of the Most High
Operating in Your Spirit through faith
Pleading the blood and standing on Your Word
Thank You, Father, for Your Word that is true and unchanging!
Every bit of unbelief must go—by faith is how we pray
Believing to pray what You want us to pray, representing You as King
Watching all the way—calling forth answers in Jesus’ name
Going all the way—expecting change every day!
Not bending under adversity but standing strong
Declaring “This is the way is shall be!”
Unfolding in the right way at the right time—rolling off every care!
Claiming, calling, believing, expecting—by faith we receive!
That’s a revelation and that’s an assignment
We lift these assignments before you today, Lord
One step and one day at time!
Marching as we pray—taking more territory
Strengthening relationships—pleading the blood over them
They are an entrance, a portal to more revelation concerning these days
Thank You, Father, for every word You say is true so we agree with every word You say
For there is none like You, Father!
You are faithful and true
Worshiping You in Spirit and truth
Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord

I saw in my spirit just a quick flash of what looked like a liquid spill of some kind of contaminant. I don’t know if it was an accident or on purpose. It was a yellow spill that was contaminating a whole area. We plead the blood and in the name that is over ever name, over every contamination, spill, or attack, we push you back. It shall not be able to operate. The blood is against you, and we put a stop to it today in Jesus’ name. The blood of the Lamb overcomes. Our words overcome by the blood. We apply and use and cover our nation with the blood of Jesus all over the land; over the shores in the name of Jesus. We overcome through that precious blood. No, you cannot enter in; you cannot come through. The blood of Jesus is against you… a protective hedge, a protective line in Jesus’ name.

Continued praying…

Praying for revival over the land—former and latter rain as You promised
One nation under God indivisible—not divided but completely lined up
Praying for every leader beginning with our President all the way down
Over the white house, over Washington DC
That it would go well with us and the Gospel would go forth unhindered
This nation will continually go in the right way—Jesus is Lord over the United States!
We believe for more of Your presence and power in this nation
We thank You, Father, for it
You get all the glory, reverence, and honor
We love and thank You in Jesus’ name, Amen
