Morning Chapel Prayer Today
Pastor Ken…
Well, good morning, everyone. Good to see you here in the chapel. So good to be with you. My name is Ken.
Psalm 115:16…
I just encourage you to tune into the Holy Spirit and know that the Spirit of God is active and moving in each of our hearts. And He’s guiding us in a particular direction for a particular assignment this morning. As we get started, let me share a couple of things with you. Firstly, I wanted to read Psalm 115:16. It says, “Even the heavens are the Lord’s, but the earth he has given to the children of men.”
To me, that’s a good reminder that we have a responsibility in what happens and what doesn’t happen in this life and this realm. We’ve been endowed with a great authority through the work of Jesus to say yes to what ought to happen and say no to the enemy’s devices and his strategies. And we get to do that in prayer this morning.
I came across this. I don’t remember who the author of it was, but I screenshotted it a while back. I thought it was an interesting statement.
It says this…
“Through prayer, we remain in continual contact with God. It is we, not God, who must create the right atmosphere for God’s work on the earth. We must bring God to people.” We do that through the work of prayer, which influences the spiritual environment.
Death Valley …
I don’t remember if I’ve shared this recently or not, but I lived in California a number of years ago and I traveled throughout the state pretty extensively during that season and I happen to know that Death Valley, which is on the east side of California along the border of Nevada is the hottest, lowest, driest place in America. Nothing grows there, because frankly, it doesn’t rain there. But interestingly enough, back in the winter of 2004, it rained seven inches in a real short amount of time. Fast forward a couple of months to the spring of ‘05, and the valley floor literally came to life.
Seeds of possibility…
It became carpeted with flowers, proving that Death Valley wasn’t dead, only dormant. That lying beneath the surface were seeds of possibility, the seeds of flowers in this case. That when the conditions became right, well, life found a way and the valley floor bloomed in all its glory.
Not dead, only dormant…
I share that as an analogy to point out that there are a lot of dead things perhaps, or dormant things, in our lives, in our communities, in our homes, in our nation, that looked dead. But they’re not dead, they’re only dormant. Because beneath the surface are seeds of possibility waiting for the church to use her authority, waiting for the church to target those areas, those arenas, those hearts, those lives, those churches, those nations with prayers.
Prayers shift the atmosphere…
Because prayers shift the atmosphere. Our prayers address the drought so that rain can begin to fall and the seeds of possibilities that are lying under the surface can spring to life and produce a harvest that God intends. That’s our responsibility.
So just know that today…
That maybe because you’re not seeing something doesn’t mean that it’s not God’s will, or a situation or a person is hopeless. Perhaps God is waiting on us to pray. Jesus taught His disciples, “Could you not watch and pray with Me one hour?” Could you not give yourself to this most holy and sacred work? Because in the process of doing so, we can change the conditions, the spiritual conditions. We can cause the enemy to begin to be repelled. The last time I checked, Isaiah still states that any weapon formed against us as the church, as individual sons and daughters of the most high God, any weapon formed against us shall not prosper. It shall not! It may have been formed. It may look like it’s going to take us down. It may look like it’s an obstacle in our path to destiny.
But guess what?
We’re to take down giants…
You’ve been sent here and I’ve been sent here to take down giants, to slay big, hairy, audacious, seemingly emboldened enemies from hell. We’re here to slay them. We’re here to take them down. Ahead of the Promised Land for Caleb and Joshua and the children of Israel in ancient times were giants that were standing between them and the Promised Land.
God said, “You’re well able. I’ve given you this land. Your enemy’s ability and strength has departed them. Now go slay them. Go take them out so that you can fully inhabit and enjoy what I have promised you and given you.”
So know that today, that God is speaking over the church and speaking over us, especially in this hour where we’re called to take ground, where God has assigned for us to move into some new places, starting in prayer. But then naturally, we move into some new places of influence, new places where we bring and preach the Gospel, new places where we can overturn enemy strongholds and establish heaven’s reality in that arena, in that realm, in that heart, in that life.
So just know that today. The Spirit of God is saying, “You’ve got what it takes, church. I’ve endowed you with more than enough authority to put the enemy on the run. More than enough of a will and a choice…
To choose faith over fear
To choose life over death
To choose healing over perpetual illness, sickness, weakness, and pain.
Fight the good fight of faith…
Let the faith of God be stirred in us today to begin to fight the good fight of faith. We’re promised it’s a winning fight. It’s a rigged-in-our-favor fight where we will win the contention. We will win the test, the battle. God has already proclaimed it. He’s already promised it. He’s already declared…
He’s in us
He’s for us
He’s flowing through us.
And He will have victory if we’ll permit Him to have His way in our lives.
Brother Kenneth E. Hagin prophecy…
There’s this prophecy that I was reminded of and I read it probably once a year here, I think. I read it every so often to myself personally. But it came through Brother Kenneth Hagin a number of years ago. And he states this under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
He says…
“The enemy would endeavor to steal from you the blessings of God. The enemy would endeavor and will invade your homes, your lives, your marriages. But to be forewarned is to be forearmed. Intercede,” or you could say pray, “against the powers of darkness. Don’t stop in your praying because things seem to change a little bit. Keep on interceding until the full answer materializes or the entire burden lifts. Don’t settle for 75% victory. Don’t even settle for 90 or 99% victory. Settle for nothing less than 100% victory and deliverance from darkness.”
Let that be a double-dog dare…
Come on now. Hey, if you’re reminded of something that you’ve gotten some improvement, maybe physically in your body in some way, but you still sense some symptoms or it flared up the other day, let that be a prompt. Let that be a double-dog dare. Okay, I’m going to lean in all the way. I’m going to get the full victory. I already have the full victory, but we need to press in and obtain it.
God has obtained us. He sought us out and selected us individually and collectively as His own. And the Bible says for what? So that we might obtain what He’s obtained us for, that we would press in past our flesh, past our past challenges and unfair treatment, and reach into the promise of God and fully grasp that victory, fully grasp the answer to that prayer.
Pray on to victory.
Pray on in the Spirit.
You may get up one day and pray for a period of time. You may get up the next day and do the same. But keep doing that, whether you’re praying for the salvation of your loved ones or an assignment where you’re praying for a particular nation or something personal.
Pray on.
Refuse to be denied.
Refuse to settle for like Brother Hagin is saying, 75%.
Pray on like the old-time men and women of old who prayed…
Until they obtained the prize
Until they had a full note of victory
Until they began to laugh and they began to shout and they began to sense joy and a jubilee inside their spirit.
Keep going until you “pray through…”
Which is an indication, “Okay, I prayed through.” That was the old timers saying, “Pray through.” Yes, there are some things, oftentimes when you pray the prayer of faith, it’s a one-time deal, and then from there on out, you just praise God and express gratitude and thank Him and affirm what you have believed you received. But then there are other things as you pray in the Spirit and in your understanding you must persevere.
James 5:17…
The Bible says, once again, I quote James 5:17 often, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man makes much power available, dynamic in its working.” Inherent in that is a persistence, the effectual, fervent, white-hot. One translation says, “Persistent or continued prayer.” So, a delay is not a denial. If there seems to be a delay, that just means you’re not finished praying through. There’s more to be done. Things are shifting. Things are changing. You are taking ground. You are stepping into a new day. Breakthrough has been granted to you. Rejoice in that. Be reminded of that. But keep taking steps in prayer, leaning into it until you are fully in the promised place, until you fully have obtained what He said you should take away.
Kenneth Hagin goes on to say…
“The end of the age is coming upon this generation, and as a result, the powers of darkness and the forces of evil are rampant as never before. They will be increased in intensity and velocity, and even many Christians will see and look upon these things and say, ‘There’s no use,’ and will throw up their hands and in futility say, ‘Well, I guess it’s all over. We’ll just have to hold on and pray that Jesus will come shortly. For the Devil is about to take everything over.’
“But thus says the Lord: ‘In this day, I am searching through the body of Christ to enlist soldiers in the army of prayer, and I will raise up a new band. I will raise up a new army that will know how to intercede against the powers of darkness, and the light will dispel darkness, and truth will set men and women free.’”
Your prayers address the atmosphere in people’s hearts…
Your prayers dispel darkness. When you pray for that loved one, that family member, that coworker, that neighbor who is lost in darkness, not even knowing what way is up, spiritually speaking. But when you pray, you permit light to shine. You permit eyes to open and ears to hear and a heart that has been up to that point impervious to the message of the Gospel to be softened and plowed straight through. Your prayers address the atmosphere of people’s hearts and lives and perception so that they can see.
Because anybody who can see with clarity and in truth would recognize Jesus is the Son of the living God and the Savior of the world and the embodiment of love. Because God is love. And will receive Him, even whole nations and families in a day. Mark my words. That is upon us now, the hour when the reaper is catching up with the sower, where we’re seeing remarkable results in the Kingdom of God on earth…
Because of prayer
Because light is penetrating darkness
Because the angels are here on mission
God has a plan to overturn what the enemy has done…
The enemy may be here and rearing his ugly head prolifically. In lots of places, we’re hearing about it. We’re seeing it reported on the news, even supernatural appearances of the Devil in different ways. But mark my words, God always has a plan that is able to overturn whatever the enemy is doing and whatever he intends. Our role is to pray, to let the light shine by preaching, by teaching, by praying, by decreeing. Don’t just walk by in judgment about a person’s situation because you’re disgusted by who they are or what they’ve done. Claim that person for the kingdom of God. Proclaim light to their soul that they might see, because they’re a creation just like you are of almighty God. We war not against flesh and blood. We’re not here to take up our stance and be polarized and in our own individual silos. We’re here to seek and to save that which is lost. As pray-ers or whatever your assignment in life may be.
So Brother Hagin goes on to say…
“I am searching through the body of Christ to enlist soldiers in the army of prayer, and I will raise up a new band. I will raise up a new army that will know how to intercede against the powers of darkness, and the light will dispel the darkness and the truth will set men and women free. And prayer and intercession will break the bands that bind men and women’s minds and spirits and bodies. Yes, there are those that will learn to take their place and in a hurry. It must be in a hurry. It must be quickly. It must be that they must learn and enter quickly to stand against the forces of darkness and evil that would come against the land, that would come against the church, that would come against your home, that would disrupt and destroy all that is good and all that God has endorsed. But the hand of the Lord is upon those who will listen and the urge or the prompting of God is in the spirit of those who are attentive. And the Spirit of God will help you to pray.”
