Morning Chapel Prayer Today
Pastor Ken…
Good morning, everyone. We’re glad to have you with us here.
My name is Ken Olson and I will be your prayer “flight attendant” this morning. I am endeavoring to follow the Holy Spirit, just like you and the rest of us. It’s going to be a good morning. It is a good day, right?
We live by what we believe…
I’m so thankful that we don’t have to live by what we see at times, but instead we can live by what we believe. And we believe God is faithful and that He is at work and that His Word comes true because He watches over His Word.
The heavenly realms are wide open!
Let me just kind of share a couple of quick thoughts. I want to make an announcement that the heavenly realms are wide open. I’ve said that before. But heaven is wide open! Amen? One of the foundational realities of redemption is that Jesus opened up the heavenly realm… opened up the realm of God for us to access it… for us to navigate there… to go there and to come back. In other words, us being firstly speaking spirits, spiritual beings, created in the image of God, but also having a body which gives us the right and authority to do some things in the earth realm… like take authority over evil and run it out of our lives, our homes, our communities, our nations.
We’re legit human beings…
Because we’re a human being with a belly button. In other words, a legit human being. Because there was such a thing as illegitimate beings before the flood, right? That’s why God had to pretty much start over because everything had been corrupted at the bloodline, at the DNA level. But because we’re real bona fide human beings, there’s redemption for us… there’s salvation for us… there’s invitation into the family of God. And as a result, there is a reception upon us receiving Jesus, also reception of an identical position and possession in Christ.
Included in that is the ability to bind and to loose… to intercede… to pray the prayer of faith… to pray in other tongues through the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the ability to put the enemy on the run. Wow! I got up just for that this morning! I don’t know about you but I got up to be able to put the enemy on the run and to drive him out of my life, of my family’s life, of my community.
We are to overcome evil with good…
Jesus said very clearly in His earthly walk, “I’ve come to overcome evil with good.” That’s what we’re here to do. We’re here to drive out evil with the good God intends to do through us. And I believe He’s going to do some good things in us and through us today as His people.
Jeremiah 33:3, I will show you great and mighty things…
And so know this in Jeremiah 33:3. I was reflecting last night and was reminded of Jeremiah 33:3. Perhaps you’re familiar with it. It says simply this: “Call to me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, which you did not know.”
Isaiah 55:6, seek the Lord while He may be found…
Isaiah 55:6 says, “Seek the Lord while He may be found. Call upon him while He is near.” Once again, the heavens are open. He invites us to call on Him. He invites us to seek Him. He invites us to partner and collaborate with Him. How many of you know that this morning?
The opportunity to pray, the opportunity to exercise authority, the opportunity to worship, the opportunity just to sit quietly before Him and wait on Him is an opportunity to collaborate with the God of heaven, with your Heavenly Father, the Father of all spirits, that He might do something in us and through us.
He has the plan!
And His plan is endorsed by His very own hand to prosper and succeed and accomplish exactly what He intends. So make no mistake about it today. We’re not just kind of traversing through time and space until we expire and go into the other realm. We are here on a mission. We are here to affect change. We are here as God’s family, as the church:
to overcome evil with good
to drive out the enemy
to drive out death
to drive out sickness
to drive out demonic entities
to drive out fear
to drive out depression
to drive out anything that is not of God.
So today, God intends for you to be fruitful and effective. He intends for that collaboration that you have with Him:
to produce results
to produce change
to produce salvation
to produce new songs
to produce a prophetic word.
He intends that your collaboration, your connection, your fellowship, your time with Him produce a word of inspiration in your own heart for you personally. He intends for it to produce a plan and a purpose and an idea and a solution in your life, in your business, in the world in some way.
We are to be hotspots…
We are to be hotspots where the plan of God happens. Where heaven downloads to us and then is able to be carried out through us, exhibited through us.
Jeremiah 29:12, the plans I have for you are good and not evil…
And then Jeremiah 29:12. This is the word for us this morning. “For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for your welfare.” In other words, your good, your benefit. Jesus once again before He ascended to the Father said, “It is advantageous. It’s for your profit or your benefit that I go to the Father because if I do so, then I’m able to send, deliver through Amazon Prime, if you will… Actually, better than that… the Holy Spirit who will come and inhabit, take up residency inside of you. And He will be with you even unto the end of the age. Nothing can separate you from Him, God the Holy Spirit. And He will produce what is good for you.
John 16, He will show us things to come…
In John 16, Jesus said He will show you things to come. There’s no need for us to always be playing catch up in our lives as to what God’s doing or what we’re to do, even personally and practically. You are hardwired to receive the future… to know the future. Sometimes you consciously know what is next or what your next step is. Sometimes you know it subconsciously and the Holy Spirit’s able to orchestrate you, even subconsciously, in other words, beyond your consciousness. And put you in the right place at the right time and cause you to make a faith decree that is necessary so that God could carry it out without even you realizing at times how truly profound and prophetic it was.
We are to live from our hearts, not our heads…
We’re called to be a people that live from our hearts, not our heads. Yes, your head is a part of this human experience, right? It keeps you from crossing the street when cars are zooming by. But there’s a higher order and a higher way that we’re to live. And that begins from being connected and in touch with our human recreated spirit that is in relationship with God the Holy Spirit.
We’re here on a mission today…
I don’t know if somebody needed to hear that this morning, but it’s good nonetheless. I love that! It gets me inspired and stirred like, “Hey, you mean I’m not just coursing through time, passing time in my life?” No! We’re here on a mission today. Something good is going to happen for you and through you today if you will believe God. God wants to put the church on a pedestal, on display, in this particular hour, in this particular generation. He wants you and I to be truly lit up with His glory, truly in full collaboration with God the Holy Spirit, so that signs and wonders and the prophetic transpire through us on a daily basis.
And sometimes it’s very evident. Oftentimes though the supernatural almost seems pretty normal or peaceful and almost unrecognizable at times. Because sometimes we think the supernatural has to come with fireworks and great displays of awe and wonder. But I have found very often some of the most profound workings of God in my life, or some of the most profound words that the Holy Spirit whispered to me were very… just very normal almost. And like, wow, I glad I didn’t miss that. Because often He comes in that still small subtle, at times, voice.
He’s there to help us overcome…
So I suppose that’s often why I talk about the working of the Holy Spirit and the offer to collaborate with Him on a daily basis in our everyday lives so that we don’t overlook Him. So that we recognize He’s there to help us overcome. He’s there to help us to be in the right place at the right time. He’s there to help us overcome ourselves.
Praying in tongues helps you to overcome bad habits…
Do you know that praying in the Spirit is an opportunity to overcome your bad habits? To get over yourself and your past issues? It’s a journey oftentimes. We’re glad when God performs a miracle and changes us on the inside, and we’re never the same from that day forward. But I found that most often the journey to overcome our past, to grow stronger in faith, certainly to realize His plan for our futures is a journey. You put one foot in front of the other, day after day. And you just keep walking with Him and trusting that change is occurring, that when I’m praying in the Holy Spirit, He’s equipping me, He’s transforming me, He’s changing me on the inside, He’s empowering me so that later today when I face a temptation, I’ll overcome that temptation for the first time and the last time, never to return.
We are works in progress…
So celebrate where good things are happening in your life. Celebrate where you’re different today and better today than you were yesterday. Celebrate that! Give Him honor and praise. Recognize that and know that you’re not going to stay where you’ve been. That God intends for you and I in the church to advance, to move forward, to become more and more step by step, day by day in the image externally even of Jesus. Paul writes that God has called us to grow up into the fullness of the stature in the reality of Jesus. Hallelujah!
I’m sure you thought I forgot to read the rest of Jeremiah 29, but I didn’t. Jeremiah 29. I’ll start from the beginning. It says, “For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for calamity.” In other words, for good and not for harm. “To give you a future and a hope.”
Somebody say, “I have a future!” Somebody say, “There’s hope for me.” Somebody say, “My best days are yet ahead of me.”
Jeremiah goes on to say, “Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me and I will listen.” He says, I’ll listen to you. “You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart.”
I made a notation…
“The Holy Spirit wants to take you and me to a place where we can receive and realize the answer to our prayer, receive and realize what He’s prepared for us, our future. He wants to deliver the dream He’s put in your heart. But know this: increase always starts on the inside.”
That’s why these times of prayer and refreshing and worship in the presence of God are so impactful because God is doing something inside of you first before He does something through you. As I’ve often said, He wants to do a great work in you before He does a great work through you. So don’t discount and overlook the potential and the power and the impact of much time alone day after day in His presence.
Prayed…
Thank you, Father, for your presence here today. We thank you, Lord, that you desire your presence in us individually and collectively to be greater than the evil that surrounds us in this present day.
May your hand orchestrate changes and transformation in us.
May your hand orchestrate some comebacks today, some breakthroughs.
Lord, your Word says you’re the Lord of the breakthrough. There’s a breakthrough anointing here right now.
I declare that over us and I pray for breakthroughs in hearts and wills today.
