Morning Chapel Prayer Today
Pastor Ken…
Hello and happy day to everyone. Good to see you guys. Thanks for being here on this late snowy spring. If you’re joining us online, “hello and good morning, good afternoon, good evening,” whatever the case might be.
God has something in His heart today…
Today, I thought I would start by just sharing something. If you haven’t noticed, I have a teacher motive gift. And it always helps me to kind of start with the Word, start with some instructions and impartation. If it doesn’t help you, it helps me to kind of get over into the spirit and kind of connect with whatever the river of prayer is for today. But make no mistake about it, God has something in His heart for us today that He wants to do in us.
James 5:7 in Passion…
Let me start by just sharing from the Passion translation an excerpt from James 5:7, “Meanwhile, brothers and sisters, we must be patient and filled with expectation as we wait for the appearing of the Lord. Think about the farmer who has to patiently wait for the earth’s harvest as it ripens because of the early and the latter rains. So you also keep your hopes up high and be patient for the presence of the Lord is drawing closer.”
Then I’m going to drop down to James 5:12, where it reads: “Are there any believers in your fellowship suffering great hardship and distress? Encourage them to pray. Are there any happy, cheerful ones among you? Encourage them to sing out their praises. Are there any sick among you? Then ask for the elders of the church to come and pray over the sick and anoint them with oil in the name of our Lord. And the prayer of faith will heal the sick. And the Lord will raise him up. And if they have committed sins, they will be forgiven.”
Verse 16 says, “Confess and acknowledge how you have offended one another and then pray for one another to be instantly healed. For tremendous power is released through the passionate, heartfelt prayer of a godly believer.”
Word of knowledge came concerning skin disorder…
So just expect that today. There’s going to be power released in our praying today. I believe that if you’re suffering physically in your body or maybe your soul in some way, I just had the flash maybe somebody’s dealing with some skin conditions. Maybe it’s skin cancer. Maybe it’s a breakout of something, a skin disorder on the surface of your arm or your leg or something. I don’t know. Something’s going on with somebody’s skin. I just speak to that right now this morning, and I command it to bow its knee to the name of Jesus for I declare and release the power of God into skin, which is supposedly the biggest organ in our body.
Praying about the skin disorder…
So, Lord, I just speak to skin conditions right now today, whether it be something as simple as just a rash or something as serious as skin cancer. I curse it at the root, at the cellular level this morning in Jesus’ name. And Father, we unite and agree and decree, let your anointing flow and your power minister wholeness and relief and recovery and full restoration to skin on anyone’s body who’s been dealing with a situation now even… maybe for years. I say today it ends, and the power of God be released, the anointing of Jesus be released into bodies, onto skin to restore and to recreate new and healthy, fully functioning, comfortable skin wherever you need it. In Jesus’ name, amen.
James 5:17 says…
“Elijah was a man with human frailties, just like all of us, but he prayed and received supernatural answers. He actually shut the heavens over the land so that there would be no rain for three and a half years. Then again, he prayed and the skies opened up over the land so that the rain came and produced the harvest.”
Our prayers are releasing the rains of heaven…
So know whether you’re praying individually or we are coming together each morning with us to pray, our prayers are releasing the rains of heaven, spiritually speaking.
So that the earth can be watered.
So that seeds can germinate.
So that the intentions and the purposes of God can grow and mature and come into full reality.
So that there would be a harvest to the glory of God
…a harvest of souls, a harvest of changed lives, a harvest of newly planted churches, a harvest of nations opened up to the preaching of the Gospel where previously that hadn’t been the case, a harvest of restored families
God is the great husbandman…
A harvest! God is looking for a harvest. He, after all, is the great husbandman. You could say the Great Farmer. And He planted Jesus initially. Right? The Bible says Jesus was planted as a seed and the earth received Him. Fully, He went into the belly of the earth. He was planted. His very life. And then He took back His life as well as the keys of death, hell, and the grave. And He ascended to the surface of the earth to be seen by some 500 people according to history, to be witnessed by some 500 people, upon coming back from the dead. And then not many days from that point, ascended back to the right hand of His Father, to send the Holy Spirit into the earth to ever be with us, even unto the end of the age. Amen.
So that many sons and daughters could be brought to the glory of God.
So that there would be fruit in the earth, the fruit of God’s plan.
So know that just like we read that in James 5:17 about Elijah, how he prayed and then it stopped up the heaven so that there was no rain in the space of three and a half years. And then he prayed again and it rained. And the earth brought forth its fruit.
God is extending an invitation…
In this final hour, however much time we have left, we don’t know. God is more than ever extending an invitation. Yes, again today that we would pray, that it would rain once again upon planet earth, spiritually speaking. Naturally if necessary as well. That there would be the bringing forth the production of the will of God in your life, in my life, in this church, in your church, in America and around the world. That’s always been His plan, that He would collaborate with humanity to produce the outcome of heaven on earth.
God has in mind for you supernatural answers…
As we just read that we would see supernatural answers. God has in mind for you and I today, supernatural answers. Don’t let yourself get stuck in a rut. And you know what a rut is? I always like to say… the classic saying is “a rut is just a grave with the ends knocked out of it.” So don’t go somewhere to die today. Rise up and come someplace to thrive today. That place is prayer. That place is to open up your voice, open up your mouth, and declare the wonderful works of God.
According to the writings of the Apostle Paul…
One who prays in another language, in tongues in other words… one of the things we know that you’re doing when you [speaks in tongues] when you speak out another tongues is you are proclaiming the wonderful works of God. You can feel down, you can feel discouraged, you can see no way out of your set of circumstances or nothing changing in your life or your family or finances. But you can open up your mouth by the act of your will, by your choosing and speak out of your belly because the Bible says your spirit is in your belly, not up here. So you can say, “I’m going to press pause on my incessant processing of this deal where I can’t see a way out, and I’m going to choose to yield to my spirit on the inside and pray out of my spirit under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.” And we know according to scripture, that you’re speaking out…
Despite what you feel
Despite what your mind wants to get you to think
Despite things not changing
You can speak out of your spirit the wonderful works of God.
Even though it’s not known to your understanding, you’re probably declaring even though nothing has changed, how it’s going to be in the days ahead.
Imagine Jesus in heaven praying over your life…
I would imagine oftentimes when we’re praying in the spirit, it’s like Jesus preaching over your life. He’s preaching, “I’m going to have your family. I’m going to save your family.” He’s preaching in the heavenly realm, and He’s preaching through you when you pray the Spirit of God. All that God intends that every last promise that He’s provided for you will be “yes and amen.” That you will be the healed of the Lord, that you will live and not die and do all of the will of God and live up the full length of your days and finish up gloriously in a flourishing fashion.
Jesus doesn’t preach the gray areas…
I’ve heard people who’ve had life-after-death encounters where they’ve gone to the heavenly realm and they have witnessed Jesus preaching. And in His preaching, there is no gray areas. In His preaching, there’s no doubt. There’s no words of death. There’s no shadow of turning. The Bible says that, doesn’t it? There’s no shadow of turning in Him. He is what He says He is. He is who He’s revealed Himself to be through Jesus as recorded in the gospels. Hard stop. It’s not going to change from there. You can take Him at His word.
Jesus will have His way…
But if we were to audit our language on a daily basis, we would find lots of hemming and hawing, I’m sure. And inadvertent words of death and things that we really don’t intend to have happen in our lives. But in the heavenly realm, Jesus is preaching. He’s going to have His way in our lives in America and in the church in this day. Every promise shall be “Yes and Amen.” That’s what God intends. That He wants to do good and only good in your life. That He wants you and I to experience increase more and more, you and your children as the Bible promises. That’s what the Lord is preaching.
And so when you open up, whether you’re in this time of prayer online or in the chapel or in your day-to-day life, and you begin to speak out in other tongues, you are speaking out and you are prophesying the wonderful and good works of God. You’re speaking out even though it might be a dark night of the soul for you, that you will see the goodness of God in the land of the living as I quoted yesterday in Psalms, 37. Hallelujah. Glory to God.
Quote from Pastor Lynne’s book, “Whispers From the Secret Place”
Let me read something to you from Pastor Lynne’s book, “Whispers From the Secret Place.” And she entitles this devotional, “Stir Up the Gift Within.” And she quotes 2nd Timothy 1:6, “Therefore, I remind you to stir up the gift of God, which is in you.”
Pastor Lynne writes…
“Sometimes the Lord gives me answers when I pray. Other times He asks me questions. Today, He’s asking me this. He said, ‘Lynne, what have you been doing with the divine gift I’ve put inside of you?’ Not feeling especially spiritual, I might be tempted to answer ‘What gift?’ I don’t have any divine gift, but I know better. No matter how I feel I know that as a born again, Spirit-filled Christian, I always have the Spirit of God Himself dwelling within me in person and power. That in itself is a mighty gift of God. So I must give consideration to my Father’s question. I must evaluate how well I am stewarding this precious gift. Am I stepping out into prophecy during my prayer times? Are my days filled with Spirit-inspired songs, Spirit-inspired prayers, Spirit-inspired declarations, and Spirit-inspired exhortation?”
Pastor Ken comments…
Can I just insert this? The Lord wants to use us to encourage people as we go through our day. He wants you to not just fill your day with random words. He wants to be intentional through you today, through your voice today, to yourself and to others, through your steps of faith today, through your thought processes today.
The Bible says that one of the greatest ways we get to glorify, magnify, and praise God is with our thinking. We’re to love Him with our minds. Well, how are you using your mind today?
Pastor Lynne says…
“I don’t have to wait for some spectacular leading of the Lord to do these things. I can and should do them every day simply because 1st Corinthians 14:1 says that as believers, we should all earnestly desire and cultivate the spiritual endowments, especially that you might prophesy.”
Pastor Ken…
That doesn’t mean you have to say “thus saith the Lord” every time. But just going into a meeting, having a lunch with a family member, a friend, a neighbor, having a conversation between houses in your neighborhood. Just be aware that there’s an endowment of the Holy Spirit, the great counselor, the great comforter, the great strategist, the great exhorter, encourager. The Spirit of Jesus, the Spirit of the future. That with your words, you can shift situations and bring hope to people’s hearts. No matter how common the interaction or the situation might be.
Pastor Lynne says…
“To cultivate means to improve by care, training or study, to refine, to promote the development or growth of, to seek the development familiarity to give oneself attention or to pursue. Of course, Satan tries to do his best to stop such cultivation. He tries to distract us with the busyness of life. He tries to occupy us with the natural facts and thoughts, so we won’t have time to soar in that realm of the Holy Spirit and develop our capacity to work with Him.”
Pastor Ken…
Okay. There’s a prayer right there. I don’t know about you, but that’s one I pray often. “Lord, help me to level up in my capacity to work with you. Show me the secrets of your kingdom and how it functions. I want to function in greater anointing.”
That should be our desire each day. How can we get 1% better in walking with God and collaborating with God and yielding ourselves to Him. We need to see what we can do is really small. Our intellect is very finite. But He’s all knowing. So the more we can yield to Him, the more we can surrender to Him, the more He can pour forth His anointing and presence into us and through our daily, almost normal lives.
Brother Hagin used to say that the supernatural, even though it might not be spectacular, is nonetheless supernatural.
Pastor Lynne goes on to say…
“Of course, Satan tries to stop such cultivation. He tries to distract us with the busyness of life. He tries to occupy us with natural facts and thoughts so we won’t have time to soar the realm of the spirit and develop our capacity to work with Him. Therefore, if we are going to successfully keep our inner gift stirred up, we must make a commitment to do it. We must schedule regular appointments with the Lord, where we shut out the daily demands of life and purposefully develop our capacity to prophesy.
Pastor Ken…
She says to prophesy. But our capacity to do whatever we’re called to do, whatever gifting we have. And I would also add to that, that in some situations our inner lives, the inner landscape of our souls and how we feel and our state, if you will, inside, will improve simply by making a decision to practice silence and solitude.
