Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today

Pastor Dustin…

Well, good morning, everyone! Welcome to Morning Prayer. Thank you for joining us. For those of you in the room and those online, my name is Dustin Sherry. I’m the youth pastor here at Living Word. And on behalf of our senior pastors, Pastors Mac and Lynne Hammond, we want to welcome you. Thank you for joining us this morning.

Prayer isn’t a spectator sport…

We’re going to spend some time worshiping together, and then we have some things that we’re going to declare and we’ll take our authority, we’ll do some praying. As Pastor Kent used to say, if we all do what we’re supposed to do, we’ll accomplish everything that we need to, right? And so this isn’t a spectator sport. We all have a supply to bring. We all have gifts. We all have an anointing on our lives. And so when we all come together like this, and we use what God gave us, we’ll accomplish great things for the kingdom. So let’s do it.

Hey Noah, let’s try something. I’ll read a psalm and then you worship for a bit. Just flow with something, just for a little bit, and then I’ll do another Psalm and we’ll go back and forth. And then let’s just think about what we just read, reflect on it, worship, thank God for it. And then we’ll go into another Psalm. So let’s start this.

Psalm 23…

The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul. He restores your soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. For you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil. My cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Let’s worship for a moment and then we’ll jump to the next Psalm.

Psalm 27…

The Lord is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid? When evil men advanced against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear though war breakout against me. Even then, I will be confident. One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek. That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple for in the day of trouble, He will keep me safe in His dwelling, He will hide me in the shelter of His tabernacle and set me high upon a rock. Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me. At His tabernacle, I will sacrifice with shouts of joy. I will sing and make music to the Lord. Hear my voice when I call the Lord. Be merciful to me and answer me. My heart says of you, seek His face. Your face, Lord, I will seek. Do not hide your face from me. Do not turn your servant away in anger. You have been my helper. Do not reject or forsake me, Oh God, my savior. Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me. Teach me your way, Oh Lord. Teach me in the straight path because of my oppressors. Do not turn me over to the desires of my foes for false witnesses rise up against me breathing out violence. I’m still confident of this. I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord. Be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Psalm 46…

God is our refuge and our strength, an ever present help in times of trouble. Father, we thank you. We declare that you are our refuge. You are our strength. Our strength isn’t found in ourselves, in our ability. Our strength is in you. You are our strength. You are our refuge. You’re our safe place. You’re our shield. You’re our protector. You are our source. You’re our supply. An ever present, help in trouble.

That’s the next part of the verse.

An ever-present help in times of trouble. We thank you, Lord, that you don’t abort. You don’t jump ship. When things get difficult, you’re right there and you give us the grace and the strength to overcome. You give us wisdom. You give us strategies.

Verse two…

Therefore, we will not fear though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea. Though the waters roar and the foam and the mountains quake and they’re surging, there is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her. She will not fall. God will help her break the day. Nations are an uproar. Kingdoms fall. He lifts his voice and the earth melts. The Lord Almighty is with us. The God of Jacob is our fortress. Come and see the works of the Lord, the desolation He has brought on the earth. He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear. He burns the shields with fire. Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord Almighty is with us. The God of Jacob is our fortress.

Be still and know that He is God…

Should we be still and know that He’s God? Should we take a moment? Let’s do that. Let’s just sit quietly in the presence of God for just a moment. Allow Him to minister to you. He says, Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. Jesus will be exalted among all of the nations. I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord Almighty is with us. The God of Jacob is our fortress. Let’s take a moment and just be still in His presence.

Psalm 47…

Clap your hands, all you nations. Shout to God with cries of joy. How awesome is the Lord most high? The great king over all the earth. He subdued nations under us, peoples under our feet. He chose our inheritance for us. The pride of Jacob whom he loved. God has ascended, emits shouts of joy. The Lord amid the sounds of trumpets. Sing praises to God. Sing praises to our God. Sing praises for God is the king of all the earth. Sing to Him a psalm of praise. God reigns over the nations. God is seated on His holy throne. The nobles of the nations assemble as the people of God of Abraham. For the kings of the earth belong to God. He is greatly exalted.

Let’s worship him again for just a moment…

Psalm 91…

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest under the shadow of the Almighty. We will save the Lord. He is our refuge and our fortress, our God and whom we trust. Surely He will deliver us from the fowler’s snare. From the deadly pestilence, He will cover us with His feathers and under His wings, we will find refuge. His faithfulness will be our shield and rampart. We will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side and 10,000 at your right hand, but it will not come near you…

It won’t come near your family. It won’t come near Living Word Christian Center. It won’t come near Maranatha. It’s not going to happen in our state. It’s not going to happen in our country. That’s still too close for my liking, so it’s not going to come near us, in Jesus’ name.

Verse eight…

You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you make the Lord your dwelling, even the Lord who is our refuge, then no harm will befall you. No disaster will come near your tent. For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all of your ways. They will lift you up in their hands so you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and the cobra. You will trample on the great lion and the serpent. Because he loves me, says the Lord, I will rescue him. I will protect him for he acknowledges My name. He will call upon Me and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him. With long life, I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.

Prayed…

Father, we’re so grateful. That you deliver us.
We’re so grateful that you’re with us.
Even if trouble’s happening, you’re with us.
We’re so grateful that you honor us, Lord. What an amazing thing, that you honor us.

Lord, we thank you for long life.
We thank you that you satisfy us.
We thank you that you show us your salvation.
And so we worship you, we praise you, we glorify you, we honor you.

Father, we magnify you. We exalt you.
We put you at the forefront of our minds.
We submit ourselves again to your Word.
We submit ourselves again to your plans, to your purposes, to your ways.
We thank you that your ways are higher than our ways.
And if there’s a disagreement, if there’s a difference of opinion between us and you, we know that that makes us wrong and you’re right.
And so we submit ourselves to your ways.
We submit ourselves to your plans, Father.
We thank you for the plans that you have for us.
You know the plans that you have for Living Word.
You know the plans that you have for the United States.
And we thank you, Father, for a move of your Spirit.
We thank you for an outpouring of your Spirit.
A move of your Spirit in this nation.
A move of your Spirit in Minnesota.
A move of your Spirit at Living Word.
A move of your spirit in our lives.

We’re going to cooperate with you.
We’re going to yield to you.
We’re going to be quick to listen.
We’re going to be quick to respond.
We’re going to step out in faith.
We thank you for miracles.
We thank you for signs.
We thank you for wonders.
We thank you for demonstrations of your power in our lives, in these services, out on the streets at Dairy Queen, at Walmart, at Target, when we’re going about our daily lives.
I pray, Father, that we would be sensitive to your voice, sensitive to your promptings.
I pray that we would live, we would walk, we would pray with greater accuracy by your Spirit than we ever have before.
