Morning Chapel Prayer Today

Pastor Dustin…

Psalm 47–48

“Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples!
Shout to God with the voice of triumph!
For the Lord Most High is awesome;
He is a great King over all the earth.
He will subdue the peoples under us,
And the nations under our feet.
He will choose our inheritance for us,
The excellence of Jacob whom He loves. Selah

God has gone up with a shout,
The Lord with the sound of a trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises!
Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
For God is the King of all the earth;
Sing praises with understanding.

God reigns over the nations;
God sits on His holy throne.
The princes of the people have gathered together,
The people of the God of Abraham.
For the shields of the earth belong to God;
He is greatly exalted.

Chapter 48

Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, his holy mountain, beautiful in elevation is the joy of all the earth, Mount Zion in the far north, the city of the Great King within her citadels, God has made Himself known as a fortress. For behold, the kings assembled; they came on together. As soon as they saw it, they were astounded. They were in panic. They took to flight, trembling took hold of them. They were in anguish as a woman of labor by the east wind, you shattered the ships of Tarshish.”

“As we have heard so we have seen in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God, which God will establish forever. We have thought on your steadfast love, oh God, in the midst of your temple. As your name O God, so your praise reaches to the ends of the earth. Your right hand is filled with righteousness. Let Mount Zion be glad. Let the daughters of Judah rejoice because of your judgments. Walk about Zion. Go around her. Number her towers. Consider well her ramparts; go through the her citadels that you may tell the next generation that this is God. Our God, forever and ever. He will guide us forever. Hear this all peoples, give ear all inhabitants of the world. Both low and high, rich and poor together, my mouth shall speak wisdom. The meditation of my heart shall be understanding. I will incline my ear to a proverb. I will solve my riddle with the music of the lyre. Why would I fear in times of trouble? When the iniquity of those who cheat me surrounds me, those who trust in their wealth and boast in the abundance of their riches. Truly no man can ransom another or give to God the price of his life for the ransom of their life is costly and can never suffice. That he should live on forever and never see the pit. For he sees that even the wise die and the fool and the stupid alike must perish and leave their wealth to others. Their graves are their forever homes. Their dwelling places to all generations, though they called lands by their own names man and his pomp will not remain. He is like the beast that perish. This is the path of those who have foolish confidence. They trust in themselves. They trust in their stuff. Yet after them people approve of their boast. Like sheep they’re appointed for shale; death shall be their shepherd, and the upright shall rule over them in the morning. Their form shall be consumed in shale with no place to dwell. But God will ransom my soul from the power of shale, for he will receive me. Be not afraid. When a man becomes rich, when the glory of his house increases, for when he dies, he will carry nothing away. His glory will not go down after him. For though when he lives, he counts himself blessed, and though you get praise when you do well for yourself, his soul will go to the generations of his fathers who will never again see light. Man and his pomp yet without understanding is like the beast that perish.”

Prayed…

So we’re not going to be Father like the beast that perish. We’re not going to put our hope and our trust and our confidence in anything but you. You’re our source. You’re our supply. You’re our fortress. You’re our strength, you’re on our side. Goodness and mercy follow us all the days of our life. Our trust is in you. Our confidence is in you. So we’re not afraid of anything. We’re not afraid of other people. We’re not afraid of the enemy. We’re not living defensively. We’re living offensively.

Exhortation…

So get a vision of victory in your life. Get a different perspective. Get a heavenly perspective, not just wishful thinking. Get a heavenly perspective on your situation.

Like the prophet, with his servant. All he could see were the enemy forces surrounding him. And the prophets said, “Lord, open his eyes, help him to see the truth.” The truth was he was surrounded but there was a greater truth that God was fighting on their behalf and greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. If God is for you, nothing and no one can stand against you and succeed.

So you need to get a heavenly perspective. You need to get a new set of eyes. You need to see this with your spiritual eyes. You need to get a revelation of what God has planned for you because no eye has seen, no ear has heard, neither has entered the heart of man all of the things that God has made and prepared and keeps ready for you. But they’re revealed and unveiled by and through the Spirit of God.

You need to get a different perspective. You need to see it differently so that hope begins to fill you, so that joy begins to fill you, so that you can make decisions from a place of faith and not from a place of fear.

Faith-filled choices.
Faith-filled decisions.
Living from a place of faith.
Living from a place of joy.
Living from a place of overflow.
Living from a place of abundance.

Jesus said, “Behold I’ve come that you might have and enjoy life. And have it in abundance.” He came so that you could enjoy your life. He came so that you could have an abundant, rich, full life.

So don’t settle for less. Don’t acclimate to the lowest common denominator. He wants you to be full of joy, full of life, full of hope, full of faith.

So get your eyes on the right things. Allow the Spirit of God to create vision on the inside of you. Allow yourself to dream. Allow yourself to pray bold prayers. Allow yourself to just go after it.

Take the limits off of what God can do in your life… in your situation. Take the limits off of what He can do in this ministry and what He can do in your department and what He can do in your family.

Nothing is impossible for God…

Impossible is His specialty. Nothing is impossible to Him. Nothing is too hard for Him.

He had a vision, a plan for Abraham that was impossible. And so he took Abraham outside and he said, “Look up. Look at the stars, try to count them. That’s what’s coming for you. That’s the plan that I have for your life. That’s what I’m going to do in and through you. But you need to look up. You need to get a new vision. You need to stop thinking about the past and what was, and the disappointments, and the failures and the times you got your hopes up and they were crushed. You need to look up. You need to get your eyes on Me. You need to get a fresh vision for your future. You need to get your words in alignment with what I’ve spoken over you.”

I think that’s a word for somebody…

Stop focusing on past failures and disappointments and look up, look up. Get a fresh vision. Get a fresh word for your life. Start believing God for impossible things. Things that you can’t do in your own strength. Things that you know you can’t do in your own strength.

Nothing is impossible for Him. Nothing is too big for God. Nothing is too difficult for God. But He’s attracted to faith. He loves faith. He’s drawn to faith. The Bible says the just shall live by faith. So take steps of faith. Dream big.

I feel like I can’t get it all out. Just help me pray.

Yet to get from where you are to what He has prepared for you, it takes faith. But He loves faith. That was Abraham. Abraham believed God. It was accounted to him as righteousness. I’ve seen big churches, different denominations, different philosophies of ministries, different styles, and it seems like one thing a lot of these successful ministries have in common is faith. Bold faith. They just take chances and they just step out and they just do what God’s called them to do apologetically.

So look up, get a vision. Let God create something big on the inside of you and then renew your mind to the truth of what He’s spoken over you. Renew your mind to the truth of who He says you are. Don’t worry about the past. Don’t live in shame and condemnation and looking at what you’re capable of. He’s not limited to your talent. He’s not limited to your ability.

God chose Abraham…

Think of Abraham. He chose an old, dusty guy who was broken and sad, past his prime. That’s who He chose to be the father of many nations. The one that when the Lord spoke, his wife laughed and said something inappropriate. She laughed. It was impossible.

God chose Moses…

Who did He choose to deliver the Israelites out of Egypt? Moses. He had spent so much time in the wilderness with the sheep that he couldn’t even talk right anymore. He spent so much time in isolation with sheep, he couldn’t even talk to people anymore. And God’s like, “That’s my guy. There he is. Let’s get him back in the game.”

If it’s impossible, then it could be a good indication that it’s the Lord. And so we just got to just get a vision, get a picture. Let God create something big on the inside of you. Renew your mind to the truth of His Word. Get in agreement with it. Get an agreement with what He said about you. And then take bold steps of faith.

Quote from John G. Lake…

There’s this quote I saw from John G Lake. “I feel that very frequently prayer is made a refuge to dodge the action of faith.” In other words, people just keep saying, “I’m praying about it. I’m thinking, I’m contemplating, I’m waiting on the Lord.” And that’s not to minimize prayer. It’s not to minimize waiting on the Lord. It’s not to say be brash and do dumb stuff and call it faith. But eventually you’ve got to take the step. The Lord said everywhere your foot touches, you’ll possess the land. You got to go over there. You got to go stand in it. You got to go occupy, right?

And so get a vision, get a picture.
Agree with what God said.
Renew your mind to it.
Pray.
Seek God.
And then take steps because Jesus is coming back soon.
