Morning Chapel Prayer Today
Brother DJ…
Good morning, everybody. It’s a happy Thursday.
Thank you, Father, for your goodness and mercy which follows us all the days of our lives. And we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever and ever. What will we be doing in the house of the Lord? Worshiping the Lord in spirit and in truth. We worship you.
The leper returned and worshiped the Lord…
I talked about this before. But the leper reminds me all the time who got healed. He came back to Jesus, fell on His face and started worshiping Him. “Thank you, Jesus for healing me from leprosy.”
Thank you, Father, you healing us from spiritual leprosy.
There’s a healing for spiritual leprosy. And the leper started following Jesus and worshiped Him. “Oh Jesus, thank you. Thank you. Thank you, Jesus.” Jesus acknowledged him and said, “Didn’t I heal 10? Only one came back to worship Me.” And Jesus said to the leper, “You are made whole because you came back to thank me and worship me.”
How God anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit… and what? Power! To heal. Hallelujah. And do good. Healing all. Today, you’re here and you are watching. Could be the day. This is the day the Lord has made. We shall rejoice and be glad in it. And you all can get healed from every single thing. All! He healed all!
Don’t get weary in well doing…
I was reading this scripture this morning, “Do not get weary doing good. Do not get weary doing good… especially who? Especially the household of faith. Doing good.
I was reading this story this morning about generosity, how people are good to others. As a matter of fact, a few months ago, right in this chapel, I was in a hurry and I said, “You know what? I have something to do and we can meet for coffee. Can you get me a $25 gift card from the coffee shop?” So I gave my card to this lady. So she can get it so I can start worshiping and start morning prayer. So I give my card to her and she’s gone. I’m worshiping and praising. She’s not back. It is already nine o’clock. I am looking there. She’s not back yet. It’s 9:15. I said, “My goodness, the lady took my card and gone.” Tomorrow will be the newspaper.
But anyway, around 9:20, she showed up. There’s now 10 minutes left. I wanted to give everybody a $5 gift card so we can go have a coffee there. God is so good. How generous people we have in this church, in the body of Christ. So I saw her sitting in the back. I go around slowly, slowly, get my card back, and those $25 cards for the coffee shop. So we gave it away.
God is so good.
He’s so good. And you know what happened? She gave me those cards and after the chapel she said, “DJ, I didn’t use your card. I used my card!” The cards I gave away, she used her card. And plus using my card, gave me those $25 coffee shop card. Isn’t God good? He’s so generous. Giving heart. Doing good all the time, especially to the household of faith.
Jesus taught in parables…
I was reading another story this morning. Jesus taught using parables. I shared before in this book, Daily Devotional. This father and son go to the circus. They were very excited. They go to the circus and get in the line to get the ticket. You heard the story? It’s real story. It’s a good story. And when they got in the line, there was a family of four standing in front of them to get tickets to go to the circus. The man approach and said, “I need four tickets to go to the circus.” Very excited! And the cashier attendant goes, “It’ll be this much.” Whatever the price was. Their faces fell because they didn’t have enough money to pay for four.
Now, this Father and son standing behind them, looked at each other. They had 20 dollars. You know what they did? They dropped their $20 bill right there and then picked it up, and gave it to the family. He said, “Is this yours?” He then gave it to the family of four. And the family of four bought the tickets to go to the circus. But the father and son looked at each other and knew what happened. They give their money to the four people ahead of them so they could go and enjoy the circus.
Isn’t God good?
Doing good all the time. Everywhere you go, even outside it’s not only for church people, doing good all the time. Especially for the household of faith. Hallelujah. God is so good.
And guess what? His goodness lives inside of us. So what happens? We become good. Wherever we go, His goodness comes out of us. If we see somebody’s sickness, we say “Be healed” because they don’t know in the name of Jesus Christ, they can be healed.
As a matter of fact, after morning prayer yesterday, I left from here to go to an appointment in St. Paul and accountant. He’s an Indian guy. We are all business people and talked business. Start talking about somebody passed away. “Where did they go?” Someone we know in common who passed away. “Oh yeah, we heard that.” He passed away and, I said, “I wonder where he go?” Nobody knew where he go. Because there is hundreds of thousand people die. They go somewhere, right? So we’re talking to each other. Just talk.
And I asked him… he’s very intelligent. I asked him, “Where did he went?” He said, “Only God knows.” And that’s true. Only God knows. And I said, “You know, either you go to heaven or hell. There’s just two places.” He said, “You think only Christian go to heaven?” I say, “I’m not saying that.” But one thing I know, if you trust in Jesus, He said, “Where I am, there you will be.” Absent from this body, His presence of the Lord. Hallelujah.
Task came to me and said, “If I want to go to New Delhi, India, I have to buy ticket to go to India, New Delhi airport.” But the ticket has to be New Delhi, not to Paris. I don’t want to end up in Paris when I’m going to New Delhi the airport. You know your destination, you have to buy a ticket for the destination where you want to go. And we’re talking the same way. Heaven is a destination. It’s a place, you can have a ticket. We talked about trade. He had arthritis belt thing on the wrist. He said, “I’m going through really bad arthritis.” I said, “Don’t worry. Today, you’re going to be healed.” I haven’t seen him for years and he didn’t know I had been going to church and learning about faith. So he said, “You’ll pray for me.” I said, “Sure, I’ll pray for you.”
So I put my hand on him and prayed over him. And led him to the Lord. And I prayed over his wrist to be healed. God is His goodness, how God anointed you and I to heal the sick. Hallelujah.
Cindy shared…
While you were singing that, I’m thinking sanctuary city. Those that were running for refuge in the Old Testament, God prepared sanctuary cities for them so that they could be safe. We are like sanctuary cities for those that are outside. Thank you, Father.
Who else has the words of life? When you were talking about the fish, because they were under the world system wanted to tax them and Jesus said to Peter, “What do you think, Peter? Are the sons of the king subject to taxation or is that for the foreigners or those that are strangers?” And he said “Strangers.” But so that they wouldn’t be offended, go down to the sea and drop down a line, open the mouth of the fish and there will be enough for both of us.
There’s always enough with God. But then when I saw that, how God has invested in every one of us, including those that are in the sea, the world systems, He’s invested treasures within. And we are speaking spirits, life and death is in the power of the tongue.
Today, our friend is going before the judge. We don’t know if this judge fears God or man, but we do know that we pray for those that are in authority, that make decisions that concern us, that we would lead a peaceable life in all godliness and holiness. And that the favor of God rests on us so much so that when those that are in the world system open up their mouths, treasures come forth… answers… solutions.
Thank you, Father, that you have instituted offices of authority and you have given men wills and you won’t override those wills. But, Father, you will send people to influence. You’ll bring witnesses. And stir things up so that people do choose right. But when it comes to offices of authority, you override wills. If we pray for them. That the wisdom of God would come forth.
I always go back to like when Pastor Jim was going before the judge. He had three strikes against him and he was looking at some real jail time. And there were two people before him in line. And both those people didn’t have as many offenses on their records as he did, but they got jail time. But when it came for Pastor Jim to get up there… and he’ll tell you himself that he wasn’t in faith. But he had people who were praying for him and showing up. The church was praying for him. And the judge, his head just went down. And he goes, “I don’t know why I am doing this, but…” he said, “house arrest.”
And the reason why he did that is because they were praying for those people in authority that make decisions that affect us, that we might lead a peaceable life and have the mercy and grace of God. And the reason being is he says the heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord and He turns it withersoever the way He listeth.
