Morning Prayer Summary for Thursday, August 4, 2022

Pastor Susan…

Welcome to prayer. I’m glad that you’re here. This is a good day. Let’s just say, this is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it. So everybody online that’s for you too.

A day filled with God’s purpose…

It’s a good day. It’s a day filled with God’s purpose. We’re here on purpose. We’re alive and breathing. We’re part of the body of Christ on purpose in this time and in this season. And so it’s a good day to rejoice. God’s got good things in store. The best is yet to come. Have you heard that before? The best is yet to come. We’re just fixing to walk in, I believe, some really great things.

Psalm 1, Amplified Classic…

I’ve had a couple scriptures come to my heart this morning that I think is gonna launch us in where we’re gonna pray. And the first one is Psalm one. I love this Psalm and I’ll be reading from the Amplified Classic.

1 Blessed (happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather.
2 But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night.
3 And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity].

What we put our minds on, we open our spirits to…

Isn’t that wonderful? And so the way we posture ourselves, the way we position ourselves, the things that we open our hearts to the things that we put our minds on… what we put our minds on, we open our spirits to. It’s really important. That’s why Proverbs 4 tells us to guard our hearts with all diligence. Above everything, I think it says in the Amplified… above everything that you guard, guard your heart.

Being rooted in the wisdom of God…

And I loved what brother Andrew Wommack was ministering. We came to the Saturday night service, and he was ministering about the ground. The ground of your heart. Guard your heart. So it’s come into my spirit. It’s just been something that’s really been in there. And I actually prayed this for quite a while, but coming back to our roots as Christians, and we see here that there’s only one thing we are to be rooted and grounded in. It’s not the wisdom of the world. It’s the wisdom of God. It’s His Word. And the Bible says that we are to be firmly planted in the truths of God’s Word. And I want to point out just a few things before we pray.

The Bible is clear how we can stay planted and stick to our roots…

I want you to know that the Bible makes it really clear how we can stay planted and stick to our roots. And it says this that we are not to walk and live in the council of the ungodly. We’re to go to the Word for our answers, aren’t we? We’re to go to the Word for our answers. And there’s a lot of seed being sown in the world around us now. And it’s people that think they have answers. It’s the wisdom of the world. But for us as Christians, God’s Word should be elevated to the very highest place. And we’re gonna pray about that this morning. We’re gonna pray about God’s Word being elevated, exalted, and honored in the lives of Christians.

Christians are living beneath their inheritance…

Many Christians are experiencing a lower… I don’t know how to say this in a way… living beneath their inheritance. Not experiencing the quality of life that God has for them, because the Word has taken like a lower place. And there are a lot of other things that are filling their hearts and their minds. So we’re not to take the council of the ungodly, their plans, and their purposes. There are plans out there. But just cuz there’s plans or things that maybe sound good to our human reasoning, we always take those things back to the Word and that’s like our watermark. That’s our bedrock. Like everything comes back to the Word. Does that validate the Word or does it invalidate the Word? Because if it invalidates, if it’s contrary to, we don’t embrace those things. I don’t care how popular they are. We don’t embrace them.

Then I want you to notice that again, this person that’s elevated the Word, he doesn’t stand inactive where sinners walk. So you know what? He’s got a heart for the lost and he’s not seated… he doesn’t sit down where the mockers and the scornful gather. And, you know, there’s been a rising tide in the world around us, mocking the truths of God’s Word, scorning the truths of God’s Word. And for us as Christians we’re to love the Word. I don’t really care what people’s opinions are about God. The only one I look to is what does God say about Himself? God says that He is just, God says that He is good. God says that He is loving, that He’s forgiving. And so we choose to believe the Word.

What you meditate on gets down on the inside of you…

And then, of course, it says here that this man, his delight and desire are in the teachings of God. And because they are, he habitually meditates, ponders, and studies the Word day and night. And so what you meditate on gets down on the inside of you. That’s why this person is like a tree planted by rivers of water. And no matter what comes in this life, he’s not uprooted. He’s not shaken. He’s not dismayed. He doesn’t turn from God. He doesn’t let go of the truths he knows, but he presses in. And I believe with my whole heart, we need to see more of this in the Word, in the body. And as I said, last night I heard brother Rick Rennner say that he’s believing and praying for a revival of the Word. And I am too. Man, that went off in my spirit. People need to get back to the Word.

So last scripture, 2nd Thessalonians 3:1. Here is what Paul said.

“Furthermore brethren, pray for us that the Word of the Lord may speed on.” Listen to this. “Spread rapidly and run its course.” You know what that is? Fulfillment. God said, I’m watching over My Word… to do what? To fulfill it! To bring it to pass. Paul said, let’s get in agreement with what God has said and let’s believe Him for this. I don’t care what it looks like in the world, we are going to do this.

“And that the Word would be glorified, extol, that it would triumph even as it has done with you.”

That’s what we are believing for, that the Word would be exalted in the lives of God’s people and in the earth. Brother Hagin used to say, the way that nations and cities are changed is right here. It’s by God’s Word being exalted. So we’re gonna pray about the exalting of the Word. And, of course, the way the Word’s exalted, it’s exalted through God’s people. It’s exalted through the church. Right? So let’s pray about that this morning.

Prayed…

Father, we honor your Word today. We honor the Bible. Thank you for giving us your holy written Word. It’s life, it’s truth, it’s a foundation, it’s light to us. It’s authoritative. It’s the final authority. It’s equipping. It furnishes us with what we need. It discloses to us and reveals who you are, who we are in Christ. What you’ve done for us through redemption. It is your will for mankind. Your Word is your will.

And so Father, we exalt your Word this morning in our own lives. But our prayer is about that Word being exalted and lifted high.

Father, your Word is your will not just for the church, but for all mankind, for the nations, for the Jewish people… your Word is your will.

Father, we’re coming into agreement with you because it’s your will and your plan that your Word would be exalted in all the earth.

So Father, we’re praying about your Word being lifted high … that it would be announced … that it would be declared … that it would be taught with accuracy… that it would come forth with power and in demonstration …

Father, we thank you right now… you’re working in the unseen realm. We can see where you’re working in places but there’s more to what you’re doing. You’re working in the unseen realm.

Father, we’re lifting that work of God. We’re lifting that up. You’re so vigilant to watch over your Word and to see that it comes to pass in the lives of our children, in the lives of our family, in our churches, in our nations.

Father, prophetically through your Word, you have declared about the nations and about these last days and about your church… your Word is out there in its full of power and it’s performing and it’s causing things to shift and to change.

Father, I come all the way back to the roots of this nation … we’re believing you for the fullness of your Word, the fullness of it to come to pass for cities, areas, and communities to be impacted by the power of your Word

Father, that you open up the eyes of hearts… we’re praying for the hearts of all the Christians that they would be flooded with light, that there would be a turning.
