Scripture Focus…
David was the youngest. The three eldest followed Saul, (15) but David went back and forth from Saul to feed his father’s sheep at Bethlehem. (16) For forty days the Philistine came forward and took his stand, morning and evening. (17) And Jesse said to David his son, “Take for your brothers an ephah of this parched grain, and these ten loaves, and carry them quickly to the camp to your brothers. (18) Also take these ten cheeses to the commander of their thousand. See if your brothers are well, and bring some token from them.” (19) Now Saul and they and all the men of Israel were in the Valley of Elah, fighting with the Philistines. (20) And David rose early in the morning and left the sheep with a keeper and took the provisions and went, as Jesse had commanded him. And he came to the encampment as the host was going out to the battle line, shouting the war cry. (21) And Israel and the Philistines drew up for battle, army against army. (22) And David left the things in charge of the keeper of the baggage and ran to the ranks and went and greeted his brothers. (23) As he talked with them, behold, the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, came up out of the ranks of the Philistines and spoke the same words as before. And David heard him. (24) All the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him and were much afraid. (25) And the men of Israel said, “Have you seen this man who has come up? Surely he has come up to defy Israel. And the king will enrich the man who kills him with great riches and will give him his daughter and make his father’s house free in Israel.” (26) And David said to the men who stood by him, “What shall be done for the man who kills this Philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?” (27) And the people answered him in the same way, “So shall it be done to the man who kills him.”
(1 Samuel 17:14–27 ESV)

Praying Pauline Prayers…
Paul writes in Ephesians 1:15… we’re just going to pray this. It says, “Therefore, I also after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and your love for all the saints do not cease to give thanks for you making mention of you in my prayers.” And so, Father, we pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory may give us a Spirit of wisdom in this hour, would give us a Spirit of wisdom and knowledge and understanding to the church in this hour, wherever we might be in the world, whatever church we’re a part of, we pray that the God of our Lord Jesus, the Father of glory may give us a Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.

Lord, we pray that the eyes of our understanding would be enlightened, that we would know what is the hope of our calling. And what are the riches of the glory of your inheritance in the saints and what is the exceeding greatness of the power of God toward us who believe according to the working of your mighty power which you worked, or exerted in Christ, when you raised Him from the dead and seated Him at the right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality, far above all power, far above all might, far above all dominion, far above any set of circumstances that we find ourselves in today. And even far above every name that is named not only in this age, but also in that which is to come.

And, Lord, help us to see and come into greater clarity and understanding in our lives daily, in our churches, in our journeys that you put all things under Jesus’s feet and you gave Jesus to be the head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him that fills all in all.

Thank you, Father. We also pray out of Ephesians 3:14. We pray, for this reason, Lord, we bow our knees to you. The Father of our Lord Jesus Christ from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named. Lord, that you would grant us according to the riches of your glory to be strengthened even right now, Lord, as we pray this. There are those that need strengthening. Each of us needs it. Some in certain or specific ways because of what they’re going through, what they’re facing emotionally, physically, spiritually, in some way. Lord, we pray that they would be strengthened with might through your Spirit. Strengthen us, Lord, in our inner man. We pray that Christ would dwell in our hearts through faith and that we would be rooted and grounded. Even today that our roots of grow down deep, deeper, and deeper rooted and grounded in love. And that we will be able to discern or comprehend with all saints what is the width and the length and the depth and the height, and to know the love of Christ, which surpasses all human knowledge… that we would be filled with all the fullness of God.

Continued Praying…
Father, we must come together as the church
Thank You that You have blessed us with everything we need to fulfill Your plan
We will go and face the goliath You have for us!
Yes, we praise and bless You, Father
