Morning Prayer Summary for Monday, May 06, 2019

Pastor Ray shared…

There are a lot of things happening in the earth. Always. Hopefully, you’re aware of what’s happening in Israel. There have been about 700 rockets fired at Israel. A lot of homes have been blown up. Four people were killed. One of the top terrorists in the Gaza was taken out. That’s not all.

President Trump is sending a carrier there. There’s a lot of turmoil. We’ll pray about it today.

There was something that happened on Friday morning that was interesting. Barb Tafoya was up here praying. I don’t remember what we were praying for or about at that time. As I was sitting, it came up in my spirit something about “suicide.” I stopped and said “Hold it. The word ‘suicide’ just came up inside me. So we’re going to take authority and come against that spirit that’s trying to operate right now.” We prayed everything we knew to pray. While we were praying about suicide, a women here received a text from someone that she knows saying that there was a spirit of suicide trying to operate in one of the members of their family. Right then! So she texted back to her friend saying, “At this very moment, we’re taking authority over a spirit of suicide.” So they were back and forth texting while we’re praying about this suicide, doing our best to follow the lead of the Holy Spirit.

One of the things we’ve been talking about is when we hear something the Holy Spirit says, we act on it. Even if it doesn’t jibe with what we happen to be praying about at the time. It’s a good lesson on how important it is for us to keep our ears open spiritually and obey His direction. Yield to that direction.

One time I heard Patsy Cameneti say something about being continually filled with the Word, praying. So that when you hear the voice of the Spirit, you obey immediately. I can think back when I didn’t respond to the Spirit’s word right away. I didn’t make a call that I was asked to make. When I got around to calling, it was too late. This woman had committed suicide. What do you do with that? I repented. We want to be quick to obey.

Pastor Lynne always told us to “take the cue.” If you get an inkling about something, go with it. I want to read a couple verses out of Hebrews. This goes along with what we’re talking about. From the Message Bible, Hebrews 12:1,

1-3 Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!

It’s important that we keep ourselves stirred up, lifted up so we’re ready to come against whatever tries to come against the body of Christ. This is our church, the ministry that we belong to and that we lift up every day. Our responsibility is to keep lifting up our pastors and putting the blood of Jesus over them, watching over their steps in prayer. We do all this to ensure that our ship, so to speak, keeps going the right way. Jesus overcame all the things that got in His way. The cross was the biggest. Like this scripture says, “Let’s get on with it.” Let’s keep declaring. And listening to the Spirit so we know what to declare. Hallelujah!

Thank You for Your Word this morning. Thank You for the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, You are welcome here. We yield to You. I love it when you melt us… mold us… change us… I love it! We love it when You lift us up… we magnify Your presence… we worship you and lay everything aside for you… we look to You…

I wanted to share this with you. Kenneth Copeland worked for Oral Roberts as his pilot and driver. Oral Roberts said to Kenneth Copeland, “People will always tell you what you can’t do. That’s people. God tells us what we can do, not what we can’t do. The Bible always encourages us that we can do all things.” Oral shared three points. Number one is to pray and hear from God. Number two, once you’ve heard from heaven, confer no more with flesh and blood. Number three, get your assignment done at all costs, whatever it takes.
