This morning, we’re going to do a couple things. Probably none of you in here get a little disturbed when you hear certain reports on the news; you look at individuals and think, “What were they thinking?” Every time I am tempted to get super aggravated, I remind myself of certain scriptures. We’ll go over those. And then we’ll go over some things regarding the outpouring of the Spirit and the work God is doing in the Church.

So let’s first go over scriptures we can remind ourselves if we’re tempted to think evil is winning. Sometimes we’re tempted to think, “Look at them! They’re doing everything wrong but it looks like they’re succeeding.” God has something to day about that. God has perfect wisdom.

Job 12:13–23, “But only with God are perfect wisdom and might. He alone has true counsel and understanding. Behold, He tears down, and it cannot be built again. He shuts a man in and none can open. He withholds the waters, and the land dries up; again, He sends forth rains and they overwhelm the land or transform it. With Him are might and wisdom; the deceived and the deceiver are His and in His power. He leads great and scheming counselors away stripped and barefoot and makes the judges fools in human estimation, by overthrowing their plans. He looses the fetters ordered by kings and has the waistcloth of a slave bound about their own loins. He leads away priests as spoil and men firmly seated He overturns. He deprives of speech those who are trusted and takes away the discernment and discretion of the aged. He pours contempt on princes and loosens the belt of the strong disabling them, bringing low the pride of the learned.”

Prayed…

Father, we thank You this isn’t just for a certain time and season. But this is Your Word unto us regarding where we are here in this nation. That only with You is perfect wisdom. You alone have true counsel and understanding. Father, we thank You that there are things being torn down in the realm of the spirit… Things being torn down by the anointing of God upon our President…

Prayer for President et. al…

Father, in the name of Jesus and according to your Word, we pray for those in authority in our nation. We lift up President Donald Trump, his family, his staff, and cabinet members. Let Your Word cling to them, and let them not depart from Your plan. Strengthen them with mighty power by Your Spirit to stand against wickedness, lies, and deception. Guide President Trump’s decisions; let Your light shine upon his path and show him the path of reversal for every evil way. Continually surround him with godly men and women who impart wise counsel to him. Cause the way of the wicked to be set to confusion and come to nothing. Deliver us from the traps and snares the enemy has laid for us, and let the wicked be caught in their own devises and be brought to shame. We take authority over the plots and plans of the enemy against this nation. Let prideful and lying lips be silenced in Jesus’ name.

Slanderers will not be established in America. We pray for our congress, our supreme court, our military leaders, and our intelligence agencies. Let the wisdom that is from above reign in this nation and be constantly speaking to our leaders. We exercise the authority You have given us to tread down all the power of the enemy. We cast down and demolish imaginations and arguments that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God, and we bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. We bind spirits of strife and division, civil wars and tumults, spirits of hostility, lawlessness and blasphemy, and fires from hell that have burned in our cities.

We speak grace and peace over America. We pray and believe for the voice of truth, salvation, revival, and restoration to be proclaimed and heard across our land. Grant unto your servants everywhere that with all boldness we may speak your Word. We pray for a mighty outpouring of your Spirit with signs, wonders, and miracles. We expect the wisdom of this world that is earthly, sensual, and devilish to depart and vanish until Your mighty work in America becomes a beacon of hope for all people everywhere. We expect the voice of rejoicing to be heard in our nation for your goodness, mercy, and prosperity in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer continued…

Father, we thank You that there are those, us included, who are standing on the walls and speaking and declaring and calling things that are not as though they were and building those things up that need to be built up in the realm of the spirit… the body of Christ is yielding to the spirit of prayer… all across this land… one nation under God…

Psalm 37:1–9, “We fret not because of evildoers, neither are we envious against those who work unrighteousness, that which is not upright or in right standing with God. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. We trust, lean on, rely on, and are confident in the Lord. We shall dwell in the land and feed surely on His faithfulness and truly we shall be fed. And He will make our uprightness and right standing with God go forth as the light and our justice and right standing as the shining sun of the noonday.”

We trust You… that You’re working in and through the Church… that You are causing us to will and to do of Your good pleasure… You are causing us to awaken, to wake up and discern the times in which we life, Father… You are bringing us from glory to glory… You’re working in the leadership of believers… You’re quickening them and drawing them to Yourself… they respond to You… we believe for the fire of God to once again burn brightly in five-fold ministry gifts all across this nation… across the earth… that they would be ablaze… they would carry a message from heaven… we’re asking that by the Spirit, You would keep us alert, sensitive to all the promptings and urgings of the Holy Spirit… that we would not be caught in the world’s ways… cause us to be so sensitive before You… that we would hear and know to your smallest inclinations… cooperation in the church, all across the land… our hearts are hungry for more of You… that there would be distinguishing marks upon the Church… separated unto God and holiness… for Your work and glory… for the sake of the harvest…

I want to read from a writing by Frank Bartleman. He chronicled much of the Azusa Street revival. There is a paragraph that I want to read and from that perspective as that comes into us, there are things in there that we as the church can be praying about. Amen?

Frank Bartleman’s writings are a prophetic reminder that there are distinct seasons of revival that require our preparation and cooperation. Revivals don’t just mysteriously happen, they are born through a cooperative effort between the Church and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit begins this process by filling us with a holy discontentment over our own impotence and spiritual barrenness. Next, in response to our hunger, He imparts a divine seed vision for revival deep within us. God then requires us to become broken and willing to cooperate with this vision in an ongoing process of faith, humility, repentance and prayer. Truly, God is the only one who can open the womb of revival, yet no revival is ever born without much costly travail and cooperation by the Church. In the Kingdom of God there is no such thing as the luxury of a surrogate mother or a cesarean. We must become willing to be painfully stretched and disfigured, as we carry and nurture the growing sparks of revival within us. Sleepless nights, a change of appetite and unusual pains are all part of carrying a developing child. Are you willing for your life to be radically changed and inconvenienced in your pursuit of revival? God longs for a help-meet, a co-laborer, a bride through which He can father a revival of His presence. In God’s love and wisdom He has sovereignly chosen to use frail human beings in this birthing process. Therefore it is possible for us to hinder or even completely abort the work of revival within us. Let us BEWARE lest we quench or miscarry the work of the Holy

Spirit through our own unbelief and neglect. Like the young virgin Mary, it’s time for us to totally yield to the Father’s desire, saying “Let it be done unto me according to your word.” Luke 1:38.

I don’t know exactly how to pray about this, but I want us to pray about the preparations, the cooperations in revival, individually and collectively. Because there are things happening in the realm of the spirit right now. Just in reference to back in 1995, I’ve mentioned this before. It was a Wednesday evening. We had prayer leaders so I wasn’t in the service, but I was walking by in the lobby and saw the service going on. Pastor Kevin and Susan Fletcher were doing the service. As I walked by the screen in the old church lobby, I went, “Something is going on. Something is different in that service.” So in doing that, it alerted and prompted me to be more aware. I was just passing through. I could have just passed through and said, “huh…” But thank God for the Holy Ghost.  And there were other services in which is was almost imperceptible… there was an almost imperceptible “something” that was transpiring—a work of the Holy Spirit. You couldn’t say it was what they preached. You couldn’t say it was what they did. It was Him. So now I’m sensing and seeing and recognizing some things by the Spirit, not only here but across the land, an awareness by the Spirit that something is happening and something is taking place in the body of Christ. Different ministries and streams of ministries that we don’t connect with. But I believe we will. I don’t know the outworking of it, but connecting in the spirit. We know from 95, many people went to Toronto. And Azusa Street, many people went in the outpouring revival. Many people became carriers, coming back and transferred some anointings. That can happen. We believe it is happening.

But then there’s also cases of when humanity gets in the way and says “Well, maybe we should do it this way, because it doesn’t line up with our natural thinking.” Are you with me? So these are some of the things we need to pray about when we talk about revival and awakening and outpourings. There are things we want to happen and there are things we don’t want to happen. We don’t want to be in the way. Because we don’t understand some things, there can be the tendency of trying to hold onto some old ways and thoughts. I’m not being critical. These are things by the Holy Spirit that can assist and help us. I don’t know how to pray about these things so thank God for the Holy Ghost. So we’re going to pray about that.

Continued praying…

Father, let us turn aside from our own way of doing and acting and our own preconceptions. Let us be face to face with You… that the only thing that reflects from us is You… strengthen us to prepare the way, a highway for our God… a highway in prayer… that our hearts would be so moved as Your heart is moved… and You wait for the precious fruit of the earth… draw us to Yourself, Father… by Your mercy and grace…
