Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today

Pastor Ken…

Good morning. How are y’all doing on this Monday morning? If you’re in Minnesota or somewhere in the Midwest, it’s cold. My name is Ken Olson and I’m one of the pastors here on staff at Living Word. It’s good to have you with us online and in the chapel today.

Today I thought I would start by sharing a few passages of scripture to begin with.

Let’s have an expectation that prayer would be accomplished…

I would ask if you would just agree with me that God would inspire us as to what to pray for this morning. God grants prayer. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of prayer, right? So He comes to cooperate and to work with us… the works of God through us, through prayer and through what we declare and what we worship and what we decree. And so I invite you just to agree with me and let’s just have an expectation that the assignment on this time of prayer would be accomplished. It’s not about what we individually want to do. It’s “What do you want, Father? What is your assignment on us today?” Beginning with morning prayer and as we go throughout the day, each and every one of us. We’re not just kind of drifting on a cosmic rock of some kind through time and space. We are here by Divine Appointment, by our creator, by the one who came up with the great plan for humanity in all of the universe.

And so I believe He’s got a plan for you today. It’s not coincidental that there’s breath in your lungs. It’s not coincidental that we have stride in our steps today, that there is desire to pray for that matter. And so let’s just have an expectancy that God is going to declare and accomplish what He wants to do in your life. Without a doubt, God is rallying the church in the earth in this hour. He’s rallying us and He’s sending us in a direction. He is sending you in a direction today.

He shows us things to come…

He is your guide. The Bible says He is your guide and He’s even able to reveal and show you things to come. And so we just have an expectancy that He is guiding us individually today… us collectively today… us as a church today… down the path that He’s ordained for us. That we’re not going to be caught unaware or surprised at future events. Maybe we won’t know them naturally, but we will have been prepared and we will have prayed out some things in advance of us arriving at that point in time in history.

Prayer in the spirit is your ability to pray forward…

Prayer, especially in the spirit, whether it be in your understanding or not in your understanding, is your ability to pray forward. In other words, process the plan of God before you get there in time and space. So it’s our ability to reach out into the future. Pastor Lynne has said a number of times through the years that she’s very aware that God works with her by praying out things, sometimes two years or more in advance. So take advantage of today, redeem today, buy back, seize today. Today is a gift. Don’t worry about tomorrow. Yesterday is gone, but today is right now.

And so, Lord, teach us to number our days. Use the moments, the hours, the minutes that we have today to process the plan of God. More than just for you and yours, but also for your nation, for your church, for your city. Nothing is out of bounds for the child of God who will take up the assignment to intercede, to pray, to use his or her voice to make a difference in the spirit dimension.

Your voice is a weapon…

You better believe when it comes to the thickly populated atmosphere of the spirit dimension of the parallel universe all around us. The Bible literally says that in one translation, that the atmosphere is thickly populated with spiritual entities. In particular in this passage, it refers to demonic entities. And what the enemy doesn’t want you to know (the enemy of your soul, that is) is that our voice is a weapon. As I think we prayed last Monday, our voice and our prayers are missiles. And when it comes to forces of darkness, which are increasingly seen, I believe even in the natural realm in this day and age of the last days of God’s dispensation, you better believe that they have a respect and they have to obey the child of God who knows how to pray… The child of God who knows how to enforce their authority. The child of God who knows their position, jointly seated at the right hand of the throne of God with Jesus Himself in the spiritual dimension.

They have to respond and obey the child of God who knows how to wield the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God… who can articulate the name of Jesus at the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. They bow and they back away. For, as I’ve said before, I’ll say it again, our prayers push back darkness, not just off your home and off your soul, but our prayers push back darkness off a nation. Off nations so that the plan of God can find entrance, so that God’s plan can flourish and thrive and come into fullness as God intended.

God has the plan and He has a full supply of resources to get the plan done for your life, for my life, for Living Word, for your ministry, for your business, for your household, for the great wrapping up of this age. God is well able. But He’s chosen to partner with the church once again.

Let’s advance the plan of God today…

So let’s just believe that we’re going to advance the plan of God today, that we’re going to press down on that accelerator as we pray and as we stand and as we believe, and as we reference the Word of God in your life included… Hallelujah.

It’s time to get back up on your faith…

This is not a time to stay stuck in a rut. God is saying it’s time to get up. In fact, I believe He’s saying it’s time to get back up on your faith. If you’ve laid it down somewhere, if you’ve sat down somewhere spiritually. It’s time to get back up on your faith. It’s time to take hold of the positivity and the hope that is in His Word and let His Word inspire us and let His Word carry us and let His Word resuscitate us on the inside.

The promise of His Word. Prayer people ought to firstly be Word people, because it’s the Word that is able to cause our faith to flourish and to be what it needs to be so that we can be effective in the place of prayer.

It’s the Word that we are to walk by…

Once again, as Pastor Marie said, it’s the Word that we’re to walk by. Jesus Himself said, “My Word is spirit and it’s truth.” So when you feed and meditate and when you worship, and when you pray the Word, when you journal the Word and you let it be your focus and what you acknowledge firstly and always throughout your day in your life, that Word fills you with His Spirit and His life and His inspiration. Amen.

Ephesians 5 from the Passion…

I wanted to read a couple of passages of scripture that teach us and remind us how God is calling us or has called us to live. And the first one I want to read is Ephesians 5 from the Passion of translation. Starting in verse 15, Paul writes to the Church of Ephesus…

“So be careful how you live, not being like those with no understanding, but live honorably with true wisdom for we are living in evil times. Take full advantage of every day as you spend your life for His purposes. And don’t live foolishly for then you will have discernment to fully understand God’s will. And don’t get drunk with wine, which is rebellion. Instead be filled continually with the Holy Spirit and your hearts will overflow with a joyful song to the Lord.”

Declaration…

I declare that over you today, that your heart will overflow with a joyful song unto the Lord. Keep speaking to each other with words of scripture. Singing the Psalms with praises and spontaneous songs given by the Spirit. Always give thanks to Father God for every person He brings into your life in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Oh, that’s a word for someone today. That you need to give thanks for every person God brings into your life. Just give Him thanks for that one that rubs you the wrong way sometimes, right? Just say, “Thank you, Lord. I lift up so and so even though they rub me the wrong way. I thank you, Lord, that I can walk in love and express love toward them through prayer.”

Ps. 90:12…

Then in Psalms 90:12, it says, “So teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

First Peter 4:7, Amplified…

In 1st Peter 4:7, out of the Amplified classic reads, “But the end in culmination of all things has now come near. Keep sound minded and self-restrained and alert, therefore, for the practice of prayer.”

Isn’t that good?

Luke 12 out of the Passion…

And then one more passage out of Luke 12. I’m going to read this again from the Passion translation.

Verse 22 says, “Jesus taught His disciples saying, Listen to Me, never let anxiety enter your hearts.”

Ooh, okay. There’s an assignment right there today. “To resist anxiety, to resist fear, to resist dread, to say no to whatever would cause our hearts to be troubled. Jesus said, Neither let your heart be troubled. So prayer is us tapping into heaven’s flow so that we can be filled. When you’re filled, there’s no room for fear. It flushes out fear. It flushes out anxieties. It flushes out doubt and uncertainty and whatever would contend for your attention on the inside, being filled with the Word and being filled with the Spirit automatically flushes out of your soul, out of your mind. Much of the time anything that would be less than what God intends for you and me.

So it goes on to say…

“Listen to me. Never let anxiety enter your hearts. Never worry about any of your needs such as food or clothing for your life in infinitely more than just the food you eat or the clothing you wear. Take the carefree birds as your example. Do you ever see them worry? They neither grow their own food, nor put it in a storehouse for later. Yet God takes care of them. Every one of them. Feeding each of them out of the abundance of His love and goodness. Isn’t your life more precious to God than a bird? Be careful in the care of God. Does worry add anything to your life? Can it add one more year or even one more day? So, if worry adds nothing but actually subtracts from your life, why would you worry about God’s care for you? Think about the lilies. They grow and become beautiful, not because they work hard or strive to clothe themselves, yet not even Solomon wearing his kingly garments of splendor could be compared to a field of lilies. If God can clothe the fields and meadows with grass and flowers, can He not clothe you as well? Oh, struggling one with so many doubts, I repeat, don’t let worry enter your life. Live above the anxious cares about your personal needs. People everywhere seem to worry about making a living, but your Heavenly Father knows your every need and will take care of you. As you passionately seek His kingdom above all else, He will supply your needs. So don’t ever be afraid, dearest friends. Your loving Father joyously gives you His kingdom with all its promises.”

Distractions…

And then one last thing I want to share with you that I came across, that has to do with how we should live or how we should not live, I should say. And it has to do with distractions. I don’t know about you, but I’m constantly reminding myself to give my phone a timeout. I’m constantly reminding my kids to take the initiative, to put boundaries around what you’re focused on, to make sure you’re focused on the right things because we live in a world of distractions.
