Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today
Pastor Ken…
We are live, once again, from the chapel here at Living Word in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Good morning, everyone. Happy day. It’s always good to connect and come together under the Lord’s name and just make ourselves available to Him in prayer. Just showing up is significant, whether you’re showing up online or in this chapel.
First step to effective prayer is surrender…
One of the great and first steps to effective prayer is surrender. And part of surrender is just showing up, right? Just getting yourself ready and getting yourself in a position where you can yield your heart, yield your vocal cords, yield your life to Him. Because, after all, God has a plan for today. He’s the most purposeful being in all the universe, and He has a plan for good for you today, for our nation, for the church around the world. And we’re going to be a part of that. So I’m excited. I hope you are too.
A point of reflection…
I thought I would start out by just sharing something with you. Just a point of reflection, and then I may share a couple of other quick things. But let me just ask you to pause and think about this. Is it possible to spend years talking about God and very little time actually with Him? We can know the sermons or know about sermons. We can know the scriptures. We can know the theology. We can have Christian friends and attend church faithfully and still neglect the secret place.
Quote by Paris Reidhead…
A gentleman by the name of Paris Reidhead put it sharply, “Most Christians do not have fellowship with God. They have fellowship with each other about God.” There’s a difference between knowing about God and walking with God. We can discuss prayer without praying, talk about His presence without seeking Him, study His Word without allowing it to search our hearts.
Even good Christian fellowship can never replace fellowship with Christ or with Jesus Himself. Jesus did not call us to merely know things about Him. He called us to abide in Him. John 15:4, “Abide in me, and I in you.” Maybe the question isn’t how much do we know about God. Maybe it is if every Christian around me went silent, would I still know to meet with God alone? Don’t settle for only knowing about Him. Know Him. Walk with Him. Abide with Him.
The “secret sauce” is found in abiding in Him…
How’s that for a starting point for morning prayer? I thought that was a good reflection for today and hopefully challenges us to be intentional and persistent with tuning out the distractions of our age. As I said, giving our devices a timeout from time to time, if not on a regular basis, because after all, the secret sauce is found in abiding in Him.
Prayer emanates from time alone with God…
Effective prayer results from us praying from a place in the Spirit. From a place of abiding in Him. Pastor Lynne has taught us that time and time again, it’s not about manufacturing a particular sequence of utterance that were effective in prayer. Prayer emanates from time alone with God, just being with Him, where we don’t feel productive, where it doesn’t look like we’re shifting the course of human events and history. And that’s okay, because it’s all about engaging in relationship with our Heavenly Father. And the outflow of being with Him, abiding in Him produces effective prayer, produces power, results in change.
I jotted this down…
Somebody once said, “History has been shaped by ordinary people who have prayed simple prayers that produced extraordinary results.” And I’ll add to that: a single, simple prayer can change anything.
Today’s prayer agenda…
Let me just also refer you to another passage of scripture here. And I’m going to resist the temptation to preach on this Monday morning, as I often do, because I want to pray and I want us to go into a little bit more worship here in a moment. And then out of that, I want to pray for a number of things, starting with our nation, our leadership, what God wants to do in the Middle East, what God is endeavoring and now beginning to unfold in our own nation in the way of revival and awakening, the midterm elections, and on and on. There’s a number of things I want us to touch on this morning. But before we get there, let me read this verse just to get us all on the same page.
2 Chronicles 7:14 says…
“If my people, who are called by My name shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face,” you could say My presence, “and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.”
Can I get an amen right there?
Anybody a part of a nation where the land needs to be healed? Anybody with us online from the UK? Oh, I know God wants to heal the UK, but it’s going to take whoever has ears to hear within the confines or the citizenship of the UK to hear His voice, to turn from your ways, your distractions.
It doesn’t mean we’re in outright, far beyond sin. It just might mean we’re distracted, or we’re living in comfort or convenience, or we’re indifferent in some ways. And God is asking the church in this hour, will we lay aside some things that maybe not be outright sin, but may we lay aside some things that have become distraction and stir up our hearts and our wills toward Him…
That we would be available
That we would be yielded
That we would be surrendered
That God would be able to insert Himself in and through us to change things.
1st Timothy 1:4…
And so, let me remind you of this passage. This is 1 Timothy 1:14: “I exhort first of all, that supplications or earnest requests, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of our God, who desires all men, all women to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.”
More prayer nets need to be cast…
The last time I checked, not all men and not all women are saved yet, so there must be more to be done. Amen? There are more prayer nets to be cast. There’s more light to pray for, that it would invade our nation and nations and beyond.
Prayed…
And so, Father, we just thank you this morning for the privilege to know you.
We humble ourselves under your mighty hand this morning.
We recognize the importance of this hour.
We recognize the importance of what you have purchased, paid for, and provided and invested within the makeup of who each of us are.
That starts with salvation, that continues with an endowment of authority and the right to the use of the name of Jesus.
That we as your people called by your name, Lord, might bind and loose, that we might speak to mountains, that we might intercede for nations, that we might call for the invasion of the latter rains into situations and to the nations, Lord.
That the end might come ultimately, and that you might catch us away to ever be with you.
And so, Father, we just humble our hearts before you this morning.
We thank you for the privilege to breathe today, to be alive today, to discover there’s stride in our steps today and mobility in our spirits today to go with you, to move with you, to have our being in you.
Declarations…
We declare, Lord, that you are in us, moving through us today.
We declare, Lord, we’re not alone, but that you have sent the great and mighty Holy Spirit to be with us and in us, always even to the end of the age.
Word came forth: “It’s coming together for me today…”
For today is the day of turnarounds, a day of recalibration, a day of resuscitation, a day of visitation. Oh, yes, culminating now. It’s all culminating now. It’s all coming together for you today in Jesus’ name. Oh, don’t be in dismay. Don’t remain discouraged. No, no, no, no, no. Say, “It’s all coming together for me today.” The Father’s plan, the Father’s resources, His deployment of strategy and wisdom are all coming together now, all coming into place now. Yes, enabling and empowering us as individuals and as a collective known as the body of Christ to move forward in might, in power, in victory, in no uncertain terms. Oh, for this is that hour, and this is that day, Lord. Yes, the one you prophesied of, the one you said would be great and mighty and the fulfillment even of the end of the age.
Prayerful response to word…
And so we lift that before you today. In Jesus’ name, we proclaim, Lord, let a great shift now come.
Yes, let a great shifting now into new positions, even people under the sound of my voice this morning.
May there come a great shifting now of individuals and giftings and callings, and assignments now.
Shift now into position.
Don’t stay in status quo.
Don’t stay in the past.
It’s time to step up.
It’s time to shift now into a new place, into a new position, into a new day.
The old is gone, we proclaim.
The new has come.
It’s all now coming into alignment.
It’s all now, we declare, synchronizing for the Father’s great plan in our individual lives, in this house and church.
Yes, Lord, even in our nation, we proclaim a great synchronization throughout our nation today.
Yes, in the church, but also in government, in leadership today, Father.
In our economics, Father.
In the various segments and strata of our society, whether it be business or entertainment or politics or, yes, even the military.
A word of exhortation—stay the course…
We call the church of the Lord Jesus Christ, in Jesus’ name, “to come up. It’s time to come up.”
Yeah, don’t sweat the small stuff. Don’t stay down in that low place. Come up today.
Today is the day the Lord hath made.
Today is the day of His salvation and redeeming supply.
Today is still the day where the blood can be applied.
Today is the day you can leave the old in the past and step into the newness of His spirit and the fullness of His goodness.
And know that He’s for you and not against you and will not leave nor forsake you.
A word of direction…
So stay the course. Step up there. For some, it’s just a step. You need to take a step. You can’t stay in complacency. You can’t stay in lukewarmness. You must step up today. Yes, with a decision, with a prayer, with a decree, with an act of obedience of something you’ve been seeing yourself doing.
Operation of the spirit of seeing and knowing is there for you…
Oh, for the operation of the spirit of seeing and knowing is still there for you. So see it and step into it. Lean into it. Refuse to be denied. It doesn’t matter how many times you have thwarted the thing that you were to do. It doesn’t matter how many times you made a mistake or missed your step. Just step in today and know that His grace is there for you.
Let your spirit call out to the living God today. Let that divine utterance that’s in each of you rise up now like a river. Let it flow like a river. Call out to Him today. Give forth that supply of the Spirit that He wants you to give forth. Articulate it now in your known language.
Oh, it’s not okay to stay there. Move, move now. Move now. Move yourself. Move now. Move, move in Jesus’ name. Move with the cloud. Move with the pillar of fire. Progress as you see that pillar of fire. Progress as you sense the cloud by day, the Holy Spirit in every way. Opening, opening, opening, opening. Entrances are granted. Openings now precipitate.
