Morning Prayer Summary for Friday, May 1, 2020

Pastor Tim…

Good morning, everybody. Welcome to Friday morning prayer. So happy you tuned in with us this morning. I just want to make a declaration: this is the day the Lord has made. We should choose to rejoice and be glad in it. It’s always a choice. We have a choice to make. Are we going to give into our feelings? Are we going to look at the circumstances around us and become discouraged and depressed. Or are we going to look up to where our help really comes from. Our help comes from the Lord. And the truth of the matter is that God has been good to us. We can always find some reason to thank Him and to be grateful because He’s been good to us. I like to say, He’s the source of every good and perfect gift.

Prayer…

So, Father, right now I thank You for Your goodness. Thank You for Your grace. For Your loving kindness. For your mercies which are new each and every morning. For the very breath that I breathe. Thank You for strength in my body. You have provided everything that I need according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus. On a practical level, I just want to thank You, Father, for the food that I enjoy each and every day. For a roof over my head. That I’ve got a great job to come to and a ministry that you provided for us. For such a great company of believers. Such a great church body. For our pastors, Mac and Lynne Hammond. We’re so grateful, Father, for all that You’ve done for us and all You’re doing for us.

I think you ought to just lift up your hand this morning, lift up your voice and begin to thank Him.

Father, You’re good. Your mercy endures forever. Thank You for Your goodness. This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it. There’s a song I want to sing and it goes like this.

Pastor Ray…

Pastor Tim, let me interject for one minute. Someone texted me. This is a prayer friend. This person texted me right before we started the service this morning. And it’s a prayer. “New levels of glory and open doors to gain more territory for the kingdom of God. I decree increase on you. Increase and strength and endurance to run the race set before you and me. Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.” Hallelujah!  I had that word this morning—endurance. Despite whatever the situation might look like, endurance! So you started singing “Don’t quit. Don’t give up. Don’t go back.” And doors! “New levels of glory.” We’re so hungry for that. “New doors. Open doors to gain more territory for the kingdom of God.” Isn’t that what it’s all about? “More territory for the kingdom of God.” So when we’re singing all this, about what the power in us will do for others and for the kingdom of God. We’re not depressed. Not down. We humble ourselves before the Lord. We know in us, we might not make it through in our own strength. But in Him… ahhh… the King of Glory… open those doors and let the King come in. More of Your presence, Lord.

Pastor Tim continues…

The hope of glory lives on the inside of us. All that He is and all that He has, He’s made available to us. So we have a reason to hope this morning. We can endure. Cuz He renews our strength. When we run, we’re not weary. When we walk, we do not faint. He exalts the horn of our salvation with strength like a wild ox He said in His word. Ha, ha, ha. He hardens us to the situations and circumstances. We’re harder than those circumstances are. We’re more relentless then the enemy of our soul is. We’re determined to keep going, to not give up or give in. … to press in and press on… ♪ We’re determined to finish our race… finish our course… to go forward… to keep our eyes on the prize… I’m talking about the high calling of God in Christ… I’m determined like Paul said … I’m going to finish the race… keep pace… each and every day… looking to the hope that has been set before us… the glory… blessed to be a blessing… I’m going to see a victory…

Pastor Ray…

Pastor Tim, when you said about someone sitting before their computer, I heard this that there was something that happened. It wasn’t God. But there was some negative activity. What that does it try to make us not say what we should say. So we’ll be tempted to say blah, blah, blah… but when we begin to say that, we don’t even have to sing it. But just to say, “You’re a good, good God. A great Father. A great Dad. Your Word is true. Things are getting better.” If we say it enough, we’ll begin to start believing it in our hearts because it lines up with what the scripture says. We are seated in heavenly places high above. And many of those things will grow dimmer and dimmer and they will leave. Let’s get our agreement on the Word and let’s not let the words that are spoken from the world that say it’ll never be better. Many say it will never be like the way it was. It’ll never be better. Basically, we’re going down. But we say, we’re not going down. We’re moving up and things are getting better. That’s lining up with the Word. Our heavenly Father has said in His Word all things are possible. And to ask and to keep on asking. Things are getting better. We keep declaring it. That means we’re moving from one good thing to another… from one degree of glory to another degree of glory… upward in the hope that we have. It doesn’t take much. Just a little glimpse of something we get in our spirit that we just know that things are getting better. It changes something in us and then we can help others. So be encouraged today that things are getting better. They’re not getting worse. The church is not decreasing. The church is on the increase. There is momentum in and through the Word. No matter what you’ve heard in the natural, no matter what the media has said, the Word says things are getting better.

This morning I found this. I want to read this paragraph to you. This happened in 1929. Smith Wigglesworth was preaching at Angeles Temple in Los Angeles. He had issued a solemn warning about the last days and the body of Christ. He said half the body won’t be ready for when Jesus comes back. But he said there is something we must all do. And this is the paragraph I wanted to share with you.

Up to this present time, the Lord’s word is for us. Hitherto, ye have asked nothing (John 16:24). Surely you people that have been asking great things from God for a long time, would be amazed if you entered into it with clear knowledge. Meaning, you could actually see to a greater degree that it is the Master, Jesus who has such knowledge of the mightiness of the power of the Father and of the joint union with Him that nothing is impossible for you to ask. Surely, it is He only who could say hitherto you have asked nothing.

So God means for us to press forward, take another step and begin to believe extravagant asking. Believing that God is pleased when you ask for larger things. It pleases Him. So all the things we’re saying and singing this morning, every day we’re asking for bigger and bigger. And I love this word: ask extravagantly! Let’s not be trapped in our minds. Let’s let go and yield and believe things are getting better and better and better. That’s based on John 14:12, I assure you and most solemnly I tell you if anyone steadfastly believes in me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do and he will do even greater things than these because I go to the Father. So He left us but He gave us the Holy Spirit. So He’s telling us we’re going to do even greater things. Did Jesus do great things on this earth? Yes. But He’s telling us, ask even higher.

I just had this right now. The things that God has told you in the past that you would do… don’t quit. Don’t give up on those things when you see other things that don’t line up with those things. Still don’t quit. Continually speak it forth. You heard from God. Keep lifting those things up and believe extravagantly that things will be so much better. We’ll put that word toward our future here in 2020 that things are going to be so much better, so much greater than they ever were before. And what we’re saying is more and more and more will continually come into the kingdom of light. All over the earth, things are being set up, being turned around, changed. But we don’t know the big picture always. But He has a plan. And those things that look like they’d never turn will turn. And those things that look like they would never change or end… they will change and they are ending. So by faith, we believe we’re stepping into some new territories. Places we’ve never been before. Prosperity. Spirit, soul, and body. We pray that prayer over all of you tuning in and we pray that prayer over our nation, that things are getting better and better.
