Well, happy Friday everyone. Praise the Lord. Good to see you guys in the chapel as always. My name is Ken and along with Cindy, who’s here with us today as well, and John playing keys for us, we’re going to guide prayer this morning.
We all have a supply to share…
But I just want to alert you that every one of us has a supply. Every one of us has something that needs to be articulated and expressed in your prayer language or in your known language, whatever the case might be. You’ve heard me say it often that the way God has set things up in such a way that He chooses to collaborate and work through His church, His body, in the earth. That is us. That’s you. That is me.
Dutch Sheet’s post: God is searching for intercessors…
This morning, I thought I would start off by just giving you something you can reflect on and kind of take into your spirit. It actually comes from Dutch Sheet’s, “Give Him 15” posts from January 13. And, he quotes, first of all, 2nd Chronicles 16:9, which says, “For the eyes of the Lord, run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show himself strong in behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward Him.” His subject matter for the day is how God is searching for intercessors. The Bible reveals that God is searching for people. He wants a big family. He is desirous that none would be lost and spend an eternity in hell. But that all would come unto salvation and profess His name and find a home in heaven. And we are integral to that being made possible, through our prayers, through our intercessions.
The heathen are our inheritance…
The Bible says that the heathen, those outside of Christ, are our inheritance, our rightful inheritance as sons and daughters of the most high God. But we must ask for that inheritance. We must intercede for that inheritance. And so that’s one of the reasons why we’re here today. But Dutch begins to share this. I’m going to skip over some of it and just kind of hit the meat of what I want to share this morning to just get us started.
Again, we share some of these things because it gives us a foundation to pray from. We’re not just praying randomly out of our intellect or tradition or past memory. We pray from the Word of God. Good teaching inspires faith. And faith is our foundation to pray from. Faith is what we endeavor to release in prayer because it’s what God is able to connect with, to make possible His promises and His reality that He desires to see come into existence in our lives and in the earth realm.
But Dutch writes…
God seeks intercessors. Ezekiel 22:30–31 is one of the most tragic passages in the Bible. God states, “And I sought for a man [or you could say a woman] among them that should make up the hedge and stand in the gap for me for their land, that I should not destroy it. But I found none. Therefore, I have poured out my indignation upon them and I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath. Their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord God.”
God works through humans…
God made an inviable decision at creation that what He did on earth would be accomplished through humans. He works through prayer and the actions of people. Even our redemption required a real person. I once heard the late great pastor and teacher Jack Hayford say, “The quest of Jesus Christ on the earth is greatly crippled by wrong notions of the sovereignty of God.” Jack Hayford was bemoaning the belief that God will do what He wants to do with or without our involvement. He does not. I realize that some pretty heavy theology. And then he gives some references as to where you can dig deeper into that.
And then he goes on to say…
However, in this profound passage [that we just read in Ezekiel], God said that He would bring judgment on a people today because He could not find a person to stand in the gap. Intercession, asking for His mercy and forgiveness for them. The explanation, God’s righteousness, justice, a holiness cannot merely excuse sin, sweeping it under the rug and acting as if it didn’t happen. His justice demands that sin be judged.
However, His love and mercy passionately desire to redeem and forgive. If He can find a qualified person to stand in the gap on behalf of the person or persons who have sinned, He can forgive and grant mercy.
In Ezekiel 22, He found no one…
So he had to release His judgment. I am sure the Creator wept just as Jesus did in Luke 19:41, when it became clear that Jerusalem would be destroyed for not recognizing and receiving their deliverance through Christ. Contrary to what most people believe, God does not always get what He wants because He doesn’t always find what He is seeking or looking for. What is that? Intercessors in particular right now in this hour.
He goes on to say…
The world is currently experiencing one of the greatest periods of transition in its history. Nations are realigning, dictators are falling, governments are shaking, wealth is shifting, principalities are being unseated. The greatest spiritual harvest in history is underway and God is seeking intercessors. Yet for many in the church, it is business as usual. And he says simply and emphatically… That’s unimaginable.
He goes on to write…
Jesus said His house would be a house of prayer, not a house of sermons, or fellowship, or evangelism. Isaiah 56:11 and Matthew 21:12–13 state that.
I’ll just reference those really quick. I looked those up this morning. Isaiah 56:7 says, “Even them will I bring to my holy mountain and make them joyful in My house of prayer.” So smile this morning. You’re going to get joyful because you’re in His house of prayer, bodily and collectively online, and in this chapel. You’re in the house of prayer. So you can expect to be made joyful today. “And their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on My altar. For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.” And then jumping over to Matthew 21, Jesus records, “It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves.”
So jumping back to what Dutch writes on the 13th of January, 2026, he says…
Obviously, this isn’t because these things are unimportant. But because they are not the starting place, meaning all these other ancillary things that have to do with the church. They’re not the starting place, the engine, the fuel. Prayer, intercession, hearing and discerning what God wants, and then asking Him for it is where all effective ministry begins.
I thought that was really good. I would say all effective living for God and following Jesus begins in your spiritual house, a house of prayer, in the church you attend. Over the past two or three weeks, even a few minutes of diligent significant prayer for the people of Iran for freedom and turnaround in Venezuela, for an end to corruption. He calls out in Minnesota. And an outpouring of the Holy Spirit there. Where? In Minnesota! Come on now!
Has there been prayer for our President and his team?
Has there been prayer for our president and his team as they work toward the incredibly difficult reformation of our nation, for Congress as they do the same, for the cleansing and restoration of our judicial system, for the lost who need Jesus? For 90% or more of you, I already know the answer. Sermons have been more important. Offerings were more important. Fellowship times, coffee in the foyer were more important.
In the American church, the most essential thing has become the most neglected. The majority of pastors believe the most important thing is to teach their people, encourage them, and grow the congregation, not lead them in prayer.
Some pretty poignant words there, right?
And so he leads us in a prayer. Just join me in this and agree with me in this.
Prayed…
Father, in Jesus’ name, your house will be a house of prayer for the nations.
We come together, Lord, across our online platforms this morning, right here in this chapel today, together in the name of Jesus.
And we say that again. We declare this house and your church throughout America and the world will become a house of prayer for the nations.
We have instead prioritized almost everything else above this. Forgive us, Lord, for neglecting this partnership which is so meaningful and important to you.
Awaken the church to the incredible dignity, not just responsibility of partnering with you and being your representatives on the earth.
Bring another wave of prayer to the earth we pray.
One that takes this powerful activity to its greatest level ever.
Lord, we pray today for Iran.
We pray, Lord, strengthen them in their quest for freedom and deliverance from tyranny.
Lord, free them from Iran’s tyrannical government and the evil principality that controls it along with this freedom, send an earth-shaking revival.
Yes, Lord, we pray get a great harvest right there in the nation of Israel, a harvest of souls.
We pray together, Lord, visit people, even the most hardened sinners, and those furthest from you.
Lord, we pray unfold your strategy, unfold your divine technology, unfold your great plan for Iran.
Lord, to reap a harvest, a great harvest, a sweeping harvest.
Lord, produce and prosper and accelerate your plan in the nation of Israel, we pray.
Even today, this 16th of January, 2026, in Jesus’ name.
Bring a great revival to the land.
May the Persian people find their God-given destiny in this hour.
Give President Trump and his team wisdom as they navigate this situation. Lead them.
Please do the same for Netanyahu in Israel, Lord. And other leaders in the region.
And, Father, we hear good things, in fact, just today I heard some good things about positive fruit and results happening in Venezuela.
So we lift up the nation and people of Venezuela this morning.
First and foremost, we ask that they would receive a great outpouring as well, right within that nation
An outpouring of the Holy Spirit, an outpouring of awakening, an outpouring of revival within the existing church.
We also pray, Lord, that they would receive a righteous and wise government.
We pray today, Lord, steer the right leaders into positions.
We bind any strong men in the spirit who would seek to corrupt and continue the evil ways in that nation.
We bind every demonic strategy to corrupt or route that nation into a lower and dark place.
We say, “No, you don’t, Devil.”
We declare angels be released and go on assignment today. Be released and facilitate the right leaders being thrust into position, even in a day.
The righteous leaders, the God-ordained leaders within the nation of Venezuela, for the people who have prayed and stood and called out for a change.
We pray for a rising up in the church there, a rising up in the leaders there in righteous and holy indignation about what the enemy has done and to take ground for God in Venezuela.
Lord, in addition to a righteous and wise government, we pray, give and grant wisdom to our leaders as they deal with this situation.
The cabinet members, the ambassadors, the advisors, those on the ground, militarily if they’re off coast.
Those who are going there to negotiate and have meetings and conversations.
Grant them solutions and wisdom and timing and direction to know what to do in Jesus’ name.
Lord, we thank you for hearing our prayers to this end.
And, Father, we pray also for an end to the influx of drugs in America, to the influx of all sorts of evil intentions in America.
We plead the blood of Jesus over our borders today.
We pray for President Trump and ask that you would grant him and Vice President Vance and our leaders that surround him in our nation’s capital and each branch of government, we unite together and pray in unity in the mighty name of Jesus.
Lord, let there be a divine river and flow from heaven into Washington DC as the leaders called by your name stand up whether they realize it or not.
Lord, and move forward with a certainty, knowing that God is with us and for us and assisting us as we move forward into a bright and burgeoning new day that will bring a greater outflow of heaven into America.
A greater display of awakening and revival.
And as we progress toward seeing a great harvest of millions of souls across America and even a billion souls reaped into the kingdom in this hour globally.
Father, we take the limits off of you today and we just declare, Lord, have your way in our nation.
We declare, Lord, have your way in our government, have your way in Minnesota.
We lift up this great state of Minnesota today and we declare “Devil, you will not have this state, you will not continue to run roughshod across our cities and our state.”
In Jesus’ name we say “No! Cease and desist in your maneuvers.”
For we loose ministering spirits. We loose the hand of God.
We pray, Lord, grant strategies, grant solutions, grant open doors of and by the Spirit now in this state of Minnesota to shift what’s going on that’s heading in the wrong direction and cause it to turn around and be recalibrated and shifted into the correct and the God-ordained direction.
Starting with our leaders in St. Paul in each branch of government in St. Paul.
We hold the blood of Jesus over our leaders there.
We hold the blood of Jesus over our two great cities that make up the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
We pray, Lord, may there be wisdom in the hearts of our leaders.
May there come a pattern interrupt in what’s been going on for some time in regard to corruption and lack of transparency and things hidden in darkness and in secret.
May they be exposed. We pray, may you expose darkness. May you continue to expose corruption. May you bring to light, Lord, that which needs to be brought to light and that you would shine your light in and through the right leaders in the state of Minnesota.
In fact, we pray out ahead as we enter a midterm election year of 2026, here in America, in Minnesota.
We plead the blood of Jesus over the elections nationally and in this state, in Jesus’ name.
And in your state wherever you’re joined with us from today.
We pray out ahead in the spirit because there’s no time nor distance in the spirit.
So we reach out into the future right now today, Father, and we pray may the right seeds now be planted.
May the right trajectories be set.
May leaders now be awakened and activated that are called to this generation and this time for offices in the local arena, state and provincial arenas in Canada.
