This came to me this morning. This is the last day of the month, the 30th. The last day, the greatest day of the feast. Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in me as the scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” By this He meant the Spirit whom those who believed in Him were later to receive up to that time. The Spirit had not been given since Jesus had not yet been glorified yet. If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in Me as the scripture said, the streams of living water will flow within us. Father, we thank you. This last day of the month. We turned the last quarter of the year of 2021. We call upon the Holy Spirit…

God just gave me a picture which relates to us singing about the fire and you talking about the rivers of living water, I just saw each one of us having a river flowing out of us, but we’re on fire at the same time. And that’s how God wants us to go into the world and minister because they need the fire and the water. They need both of those things. So praise God. Thank you, Jesus.

The other scripture I meditated on this morning is in Matthew when He said, “Come unto me.” Just like He said, “Drink from Me.” He said, “Come unto me and … I will give you rest.” He said come with me to a quiet place and get some rest. He said to His disciples to take time to rest and sharpen. It’s very simple.

There was a competition between two people: an elderly man and a young guy. The competition was to see how many trees they could cut. The young man said, “Oh, I’m so young. I can cut so many trees.” But the older man took breaks, and sat down. He was old. By the end of the day, when they counted the trees to see how many trees each of them cut, the young man cut 40 trees. But the elderly man cut 70 trees. The young men got upset. He says, “How is this possible? I’m young and working hard all day. I cut only 40 trees and this guy who is older and took breaks, cuts over 70 trees!” The older man replied, “Every hour I sat down for 10 minutes, I did two things. I took time to rest. Jesus said ‘Come unto me. I’ll give you rest.’ The rest recharged my battery. Secondly, I took time to sharpen my ax. Yes, you were working hard, but you are working with dull ax.”

There is an important lesson to learn for you and me. In order to succeed what God has called you to do in this life, you must always do two things. What are the two things? One, make time for rest and renewal. You cannot always be giving out. You must also stop and take in. That is where prayer and Bible reading comes in. Number two, stay sharp. When your ax is dull, it will require more energy and strength and produce very few results. So take your time to rest and sharpen. In the morning, you read the Bible. For me, it’s like my kind of person needs a lot of help. I don’t know about you, but I need a lot of help. I have a restaurant business. I have family, a rental business, real estate business. I need to sharpen up. So I get up early, seek God and read this, read that. Everything to inspire the soul and spirit. So when I read this morning, I was sharpening myself by the power of the Holy Spirit. I was charging my batteries because I have a list of things to go, which way I’m going to go and praying into Holy Ghost. You reading here, I’m sure we all do, but this just tells me “Come unto Me,” Jesus said. “My yoke is easy. My burden is light. I will give you rest. I will sharpen you. You’ll have an easy way of doing things. The way you don’t know. I show you the way. The way, the truth, and the life.” He said to His disciples, “Come with me to a quiet place and get some rest.”

Prayed…

Father, we enter into the rest of the Holy Spirit and to the blood of Jesus and we enter in prayer.

We give our minds to Christ.

We are in your presence… Fill us up with your power.
